A unique natural phenomenon, when huge “mushrooms” appear under the influence of wind and rain, is observed in the suburbs of the city, along the Sotera River on the slopes of a ravine. Palace of Princess Gagarina

Rising above the Professor's Corner of the city. The height of the mountain is only 439 meters. Church-lighthouse of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker

Erected in 2007, in the village of Malorechenskoye, Alushta district. The author of the project is an architect from Chernigov A. Gaydamak. The building is in the neo-Byzantine style, the narrow tower with porticoes and entrances reaches 60 meters in height. Ships were located on the side columns. Jur-Jur waterfall

Jur-Jur waterfall is a popular tourist destination. Next to it there is a cave 750 meters long with the same name. If you go up from the waterfall, you can see three natural bowls with clear water.

According to legend, each of these bowls has healing and magical properties: if you take a bath in the first, all sins will be forgiven, the second bath will give you youth and health, and the third will give you good luck in love. Valley of Ghosts

The fabulous-looking rock figures are the result of weathering of volcanic formations on the southwestern slope of the Demerdzhi ridge. Conglomerates of the Upper Jurassic period represent the most ancient rocks that emerged on the surface of the Crimean land, the age of which, according to geologists, ranges from 800 million to 1 billion years.

Demerdzhi, whose height above sea level is 1240 meters, is a jagged mountain located north of Alushta and east of the Angarsk Pass. The mountain range consists of northern and southern parts, separated by a saddle. In 1894, the Southern Demerdzhi Massif collapsed. As a result, the Tatar settlement suffered, the inhabitants of which subsequently abandoned it.

In 1966 there was a second collapse. This phenomenon happened again in 1992. Accumulations of rock debris formed at the disaster site.

Large fragments of rocky debris are transformed by the imagination of travelers into fantastic images of fairy-tale creatures, which gave rise to calling the area the Valley of Ghosts.

Aluston Fortress

Built by the Byzantines in the 6th century as a coastal defensive structure. Over time, residents of surrounding villages began to settle around the fortress. Trade developed. The fortress passed from the Byzantines to the Khazars. Under the Genoese republic, in the 14th century it was named Lusta. It was reconstructed. And in 1475 it was destroyed by the Turks. Only two towers and part of the wall have survived.

It is located 200 meters from the seashore on a fifty-meter hill. The exact address of the attraction is April 15 Street, building 17A. You can reach the Ashaga-Kule tower from the city center on foot. You should look among private houses.

Between the tower of the fortress and the Church of All Saints and Theodore Statilat, you can see the minaret of the Yukari-Jami Mosque. Muslims built the mosque back in 1774. It was destroyed several times. It was restored only in 1994.
