The distance from Moscow to Feodosia by train is 1,819 km.
After many years of construction of a railway bridge across the Kerch Strait, traffic to Crimea is finally fully open. Trains to Simferopol and Sevastopol were the first to travel along it. In May, the launch is planned in several more directions: from Yekaterinburg, Kazan, Kislovodsk, Novosibirsk, Perm, Bryansk, Arkhangelsk, Murmansk, Vorkuta, Chelyabinsk. Arrival stations on the peninsula are Sevastopol, Simferopol, Evpatoria, Feodosia.
The carrier on the Crimean route is a private railway, which, among others, serves the luxury Grand Express train from Moscow to St. Petersburg.
The first train to Feodosia from Moscow departed on May 4, 2022. Travel time - 1 day 4 hours.

Route
If you live in Moscow and want to relax in Feodosia, then you have several options available to you:
- By air transport. Simferopol airport has international status, but after the annexation of Crimea to Russia, it serves only domestic flights. From there you can get to Feodosia by road - taxi or bus.
- By train. You have to get to one of the cities of the Krasnodar Territory, and continue your journey by ferry and bus. Or take the train following the crossing to Simferopol.
- When traveling with your own vehicle, you will again have to take the ferry. Or you can leave your car in one of the parking lots and continue your journey by ferry or bus.
Lovers of sea walks can cross the Kerch Strait on a catamaran or pleasure boat.
Trains that previously ran through Ukraine have been canceled today. You can only travel this way with your own vehicle, but in this case you will need to cross borders twice. This makes the road very difficult.

Single ticket
For the convenience of vacationers, a new service has been introduced that offers the purchase of one ticket from Moscow, as well as any other Russian city, to Feodosia. The price includes travel by all types of transport to Anapa, ferry crossing and travel to Feodosia. The same tickets can be purchased for trips to other resort towns in Crimea.
Tourists are offered several transport options. If you purchase a single ticket, you will not need to compare routes and check arrival and departure times. The transport company did all this for you.
The only thing that needs to be taken into account is that you will have to return from Crimea along the same route. If you enter the peninsula through the Kerch Strait, you will not be able to return back through Ukraine. At the Ukrainian border you will be detained for illegal entry. This may result in penalties.

Trains
Unfortunately, for the fourth year now there has been no direct communication with Crimea. But lovers of romance with the sound of wheels always have the opportunity to take a route with a transfer. This route will take much longer than flying, but for some it is a really good alternative. Firstly, such a trip will be cheaper (especially if air tickets are not purchased in advance). Secondly, not all Russian cities have airports, and going to other cities to fly is often a pleasure. Thirdly, it’s no secret that many people are simply afraid to fly.
In general, the route will look like this: train - bus - ferry - bus. If you are coming from Central Russia, the duration of this journey will be about one and a half days.
First of all, you need to take a train ticket to Anapa or Krasnodar, since regular buses run from here, delivering passengers to the port of Kavkaz. During the holiday season, you also need to take care of train tickets in advance. It is worth noting that now ticket sales open not 45 days in advance, as before, but 60 (!). In my opinion, this innovation is not very convenient, since you now need to plan a trip at least two months in advance, tickets are selling like hot cakes, and literally a few days after the opening of sales, only the top seats near the toilets are left.
Russian Railways' pricing policy is flexible; ticket prices, for example, from Moscow:
- from 3,000 RUB for a reserved seat,
- up to 7000 RUB per compartment.
The price depends on the comfort of the carriage, date, location, etc. In addition, Russian Railways very often have various promotions and discounts, usually dedicated to some memorable dates, so the chance of finding cheap tickets is great.
From Anapa or Krasnodar railway stations you can get to the ferry by regular bus, the ticket for which can be purchased on the spot. For those who do not save much, a taxi is suitable. The difference, of course, is significant, a bus will cost 250-300 RUB, and a taxi will cost an average of 2,000 RUB from Anapa and much more expensive from Krasnodar.
The crossing operates around the clock, ferries depart to Crimea every hour, so there should be no problems with the sea leg of the route. By the way, the current ferry schedule can be viewed either on the website of the Maritime Directorate or on the website of the Kerch ferry crossing. The ferry will take you to the other side in an average of 30-40 minutes.
Inexpensive ferry tickets:
- adult - 150 RUB;
- children (from 6 to 12 years old) - 80 RUB.
Passengers travel on the upper deck, inside which there are comfortable chairs, toilets, and a cafe.
The only “danger” that can lurk here is bad weather conditions, due to which the crossing temporarily stops operating. In general, delays are small and do not occur so often, but last year during a storm the crossing was not operational for more than a day.
You can get from the port of Crimea to Feodosia in the same way: by regular bus or by taxi. The cost of the bus is a little more - about 500 RUB. A taxi, I think, like on the other side, will cost about two thousand. And of course, if the choice falls on a taxi, you need to order it in advance; the price of bombs hanging around nearby will be two or even three times higher.
Since 2014, Russian Railways, for the convenience of passengers, has introduced the sale of a single ticket , which allows one travel document to travel the entire route I described above. I wrote in detail about the advantages and disadvantages of such a ticket here.
How to get to Feodosia from Moscow by train
Summer is about to come into its own, and it's time to start planning your summer vacation.
If you have chosen Feodosia as such a place or are planning to do so in the future, in this article we will tell you how you can get to this resort from St. Petersburg, Moscow, Kerch, Yalta and Simferopol, and also advise you on the best way to get around Feodosia itself . If you remember, Feodosia is a large city located on the eastern coast of the Crimean Peninsula. This is the place where the famous Russian seascape painter Aivazovsky was born, and where tourists love to spend their holidays.
If you have already been to Crimea, then you probably know that there are two ways to get to the peninsula - by flying to Simferopol airport by plane or crossing the Kerch Strait by ferry.
The first option is the fastest and, at the same time, not even the most expensive. So, if you fly from Moscow, you can find round-trip tickets for 9-10 thousand in the summer.
If you don't want to fly, you can travel by train using a single ticket.
How to get to Feodosia from Simferopol airport
By public transport
The bus station is located near the exit from the airport. If you don’t want to wait, you can buy a ticket through the website or at the ticket office - it is located near the terminal.
Buses start running from 05:40 and run until 20:30, making about 14 trips per day.
The ticket price ranges from 280 to 340 rubles, plus 10% for baggage allowance. You can purchase it at the ticket office at the bus station or from the driver. In the second case, the price will be slightly higher, but you won’t have to stand in line.
The journey will take about 3.5 hours.
There is another option: you can take minibus or bus No. 49 and get to the bus station, and also take trolleybus 9 or bus 98 to the Kurortnaya bus station - from there there are many more flights to Feodosia, approximately every 15 minutes.
Feodosia has its own well-equipped 24-hour bus station, where you can eat, leave things in a storage room and visit the toilet.
By taxi
In this case, the trip will be faster and in more comfortable conditions. Taxi drivers will be waiting for you right near the exit from the airport, ready to take you anywhere on the peninsula. Unfortunately, as a rule, they quote inadequate prices.
If you decide to choose this method of transportation, we recommend that you book your transfer online in advance. You will have to pay 2,700 rubles for a car, which is quite acceptable if you are traveling with a family or a group. You can try your luck and try to look for travel companions.
A driver with a sign will meet you at the airport, and he will take you to the hotel. This has its advantage, since the bus station in Feodosia is located on the outskirts of the city, and if your hotel is not located somewhere near it, you will still have to get to the hotel.
By car
To do this you will need the P-23 highway. Following it, you will pass Mazanka, Zuya, Belogorsk, Kurskoye and Stary Krym. We warn you that there are many sharp mountain turns on the route and there are quite a lot of drivers in the velvet season, so be careful.
How to get to Feodosia from Kerch
By public transport
If you are planning to travel from Kerch, then know that there are excellent transport links between these two cities. Buses run quite often and almost around the clock.
A ticket costs from 160 to 230 rubles. It is better to buy it in advance at the Kerch bus station.
The journey will take about 2 hours.
In addition, there is an electric train from Kerch, departing at 16:25 and arriving in Feodosia at 19:35.
By car
From Kerch you can get there in over an hour along the M-17 highway, passing Gornostaevka, Leninskoye, Lugovoe and the village of Primorsky.
How to get to Feodosia from Moscow
By train
Trains to Feodosia depart from the Kursky station; you will arrive at the city embankment, located near the picturesque bay. Tickets can be purchased at the box office or through the Russian Railways website. You've probably already heard about a single ticket, we recommend reading about it in more detail, since there are no direct flights between Russia and Crimea yet.
There are two options: either the train arrives at the Kerch Strait, and there it is transported to the other side without disembarking passengers, or the train goes to Krasnodar or Anapa, and there passengers transfer to buses to the resort they need.
By bus
If you want to travel without transfers, you can use this type of transport. It runs once a day and departs from Novoyasenevskaya station. Several buses depart from the Kursk railway station, from the Krasnogvardeyskaya and Kotelniki metro stations and from the Yuzhnye Vorota bus station.
The journey will take about 25 hours. It is better to buy tickets in advance, and this can only be done at the station ticket office. A ticket costs about 3,000 rubles.
By car
The fastest and shortest way: you will need the M-2 “Crimea” highway. You will pass by Tula, Orel, Kursk and Belgorod. Next you will need to cross the Ukrainian border. If you don't want to stand in line, come on a weekday closer to night. It will be nice to have your passport, PTS, insurance and power of attorney with you.
After passing the border, you will need to drive along the highway connecting Kharkov and Simferopol. In Dzhankoy, turn onto the M-17 highway, along which you will arrive in Feodosia.
There is another route, but it goes mostly through Russia and involves a ferry crossing.
You will need the M-4 Don highway, all the way to Kislyakovskaya station. Turn there and go to Timoshevsk. And further, past Slavyansk-on-Kuban and Timryuk along the P-251 highway to the port "Caucasus". The ferry will be waiting for you there. Having crossed, you will find yourself in Kerch. From there there is a highway along which, after 98 kilometers, you can arrive in Feodosia. The downside of this option is the long queue on the ferry.
How to get from St. Petersburg to Feodosia
By train
Unfortunately, there are no direct trains to Feodosia; you can go with a transfer: first get to Dzhankoy by train on the St. Petersburg-Evpatoria route, and from there get to Feodosia. Other cities where you can make a transfer are Orel, Kursk, Tula and Moscow. The journey takes on average 2 days and 2 hours. A one-way ticket costs from 5,200 rubles per person.
By bus
Here you will also need a transfer, and in Moscow. The bus departs from Moskovsky Station and arrives at Komsomolskaya Square. The journey will take 9 hours, the ticket costs about 1100 rubles. In Moscow you will need to change to a bus going straight to Feodosia. We talked about it above.
By car
First you will need to get to Moscow, passing Veliky Novgorod, Vyshny Volochek and Tver. This trip will take you a day and another three hours. Further from Moscow in the manner described above.
There is another route, but it is quite long: through Belarus. There you will need to cross the border twice: the first time after Neveli, and the second time after Gomel (Belarusian-Ukrainian border).
By plane
You can fly to Moscow in an hour and a half, paying about 2,500 rubles. The flight departs from Pulkovo. Next, use one of the methods described above. You can look for other connecting flights between St. Petersburg and Simferopol using one of the special services. One of them is aviasales.ru
How to get from Krasnodar to Feodosia
This city is often mentioned because there are several ways to get there. Firstly, this city is part of a single ticket. However, you will have to make several transfers and pay a hefty sum. Unfortunately, the train takes a detour, sometimes through Moscow. In this case, the journey will take 2-3 days, and you will have to pay about 7,000 rubles one way.
By bus
There are direct flights from Krasnodar to Feodosia. They leave in the morning and evening, on average the journey takes 8-9 hours. The ticket costs 800 rubles, you can buy it at the ticket office or from the driver.
By car
One of the most convenient options. You will have to drive through Slavyansk-on-Kuban, Temryuk and Kerch, where you will need to cross by ferry. The downside is the queue at the crossing.
How to get from Yalta to Feodosia
By bus
Buses and minibuses run to Feodosia several times a day. Some of them have their final stop there, others go further. The journey takes 4-5 hours, the ticket costs about 400 rubles. You can buy it either at the ticket office or from the driver, but at the height of the season it is better to do this in advance.
By car
You have to drive past Gurzuf, Alushta, Sudak and Koktebel. The road is easy and very picturesque. It will take about 3 hours.
Transport in Feodosia
Since the city itself is not small, we recommend using public transport or a taxi; walking will be quite tiring. In addition, the city has so-called electric sightseeing cars.
Public transport
This is the main and most popular way to get around the city. Perhaps for this reason it is often crowded.
Most flights, including those to the suburbs, depart from a stop at the intersection of Sovetskaya and Nazukina streets, which is not far from the PUD supermarket. Buses simply stop at a stop and wait for passengers. The schedule is not posted anywhere; you will have to find it out from the drivers themselves or local residents. If you are going to travel far, especially outside the city, we recommend that you sit here to avoid standing on a crowded bus.
Let's talk about the most important and popular flights:
- No. 103 (20) - to the village of Ordzhonikidze, every 30-60 minutes.
- No. 106 and 106a - through to Beregovoy and Primorsky. It runs every 10-30 minutes.
- No. 14 - through the center to the Genoese fortress (the final “City Hospital”). He rarely goes.
- No. 104 (20a) - to Ordzhonikizde every half hour.
- No. 2 - through the city center to the intercity bus stop, every 10 minutes.
- Route taxi 101 goes past Koktebel to Kurortnoye, the final one is “Biostation” - from there the route to the Karadag Nature Reserve begins. It runs every 20 minutes.
Taxi in Feodosia
Quite a common method of transportation. However, there are many private owners in the city, be careful with them. They love to jack up prices and bargain desperately. If you don’t want to experience this for yourself, it’s better to order a car through the website from a local official company. The cost of the trip is 60 rubles + 14 rubles for each subsequent kilometer. On average, in the city, it comes out to about 100 rubles.
Transport rental
In Feodosia you can rent not only a car, but also a scooter or bicycle. However, the service is quite expensive. They ask for 1,500 rubles a day for a motorcycle, 600 rubles for a bicycle.
There are only two rental points in the city: the first is located on the city embankment, there is a private owner who provides transport to tourists, the second is on Nazukina Street, 3.
You can rent a car at Simferopol airport and pick it up in Feodosia.
Electric cars
They are not rented out, but they can take you around the city, show its distant sights like the Genoese fortress and tell you a lot of interesting things. This excursion costs about 500 rubles. To do this, go to Galereynaya Street, where it intersects with the embankment.
Air travel
For many, an airplane is the easiest and most convenient form of transport to travel. Indeed, it is difficult to argue with this. In Crimea, currently the only civilian airport is located in the capital Simferopol. In Soviet times, another one was located in the east of the peninsula, in Kerch, but today the airport is abandoned, and its runway is used as a parking lot for cars waiting in line for the ferry crossing.
Despite the fact that Simferopol is located quite far from resort towns, the airport is very popular among tourists, especially in the summer. Every day the airport receives a large number of flights from many Russian cities. Regular flights depart here from almost all airports in the country. For example, from Moscow you can fly from Sheremetyevo, Vnukovo and Domodedovo. From the latter most often.
The choice of airlines, by the way, is also great: Aeroflot, North Wind, Vim-Avia, Red Wings, Nordavia, Ural Airlines, S7 - they all fly to Simferopol.
Traditionally, all flights can be divided into:
- straight . The most convenient. They are also much cheaper. And most importantly, you will need only 2.5 hours to get from stuffy Moscow to hot Crimea. All of the above airlines offer direct flights.
- with transfers . Connections on connecting flights take place in Moscow, St. Petersburg and in large cities such as Yekaterinburg, Chelyabinsk, Rostov-on-Don. Such flights are more time-consuming, since the interval between connecting flights can take up to 9-10 hours. Ural Airlines and Aeroflot also fly with transfers more often than others.
On a short flight you will be offered tea/coffee with a sandwich or a delicious bun.
Airfare prices
Ticket prices are quite variable and largely depend on the season. That is why the most expensive tickets to Simferopol will be from June to September. At the same time, tickets are selling out quite quickly, as holidays in Crimea are beginning to become increasingly popular. During the season, the cheapest tickets will cost you on average 8,000 RUB, and the most expensive 20,000 RUB one way.
To save some money, you should purchase tickets well in advance of your planned vacation. Then you will probably be able to find tickets at a very attractive price. But you need to be careful; when purchasing, be sure to read the carrier’s terms and conditions. Very often, such tickets may turn out to be non-refundable or with paid baggage. Offers from the airlines that were listed above can be compared on well-known aggregator sites or, for example, here.
In the off-season, in my opinion, tickets are ridiculously expensive. At the end of autumn, a ticket can be purchased for 2,000-2,500 RUB. And believe me, at this time of year Crimea is no less beautiful, although you can no longer swim in the sea.
How to get from Simferopol airport to Feodosia
From Simferopol to Feodosia 115 km, the distance, on the one hand, is not too great, but on the other hand, you need to be prepared for the fact that after landing on Crimean land you will need to spend several more hours to get to your destination.
The simplest and most well-known methods are:
- transfer. If you choose this option, I recommend that you take care of ordering a car in advance. At least it will be significantly cheaper. A pre-ordered transfer to Feodosia will cost about 2,000 RUB. Taxi drivers on duty near the airport will charge much more.
And
- regular bus. Perhaps the most budget option. And quite acceptable. The bus station is located almost right next to the airport, right behind the paid parking lot. Buses run quite regularly; a detailed schedule can be found here. In Feodosia, intercity buses arrive at the bus station located on the street. Engels in the northern part of the city. The fare will be only 220 RUB, the travel time will be on average two hours. However, you should always remember about traffic jams, especially in the summer season. The bus fleet in Crimea is old, so you shouldn’t wait for European-style comfortable buses. Most often these are Ikarus buses, with luggage compartments and, in especially successful cases, air conditioning. It is rare, but there is still a possibility that instead of a bus, PAZiki or gazelles may go on this route.
How to get to Feodosia?
Feodosia is a great sunny city. A large number of tourists visit it during the summer season, which starts soon. This means it’s time to plan your route and pack your bags. The city is located on the picturesque shore of the bay of the same name. You can have a good rest here alone or with your family. The length of the beaches is more than twenty kilometers; no one will feel crowded. There are several ways to get to the Crimean peninsula. Travel through Ukraine is considered the most unstable. In the current situation, this is not only difficult, but also unsafe. Disruptions to train and bus services can put your vacation in great doubt.
Other methods suggest not crossing the Ukrainian border and getting to visit the picturesque places of Feodosia in a different way:
