Lazarevskoye beaches - the most complete overview, marks on the map, photos, reviews, hotels nearby

On the Black Sea coast, between the cities of Tuapse and Sochi, lies the small and cozy resort village of Lazarevskoye. The beaches in the village are free, pebbly, which is why you can enjoy the cleanest and clearest water, without any blooms or algae. In addition, hot stones are very beneficial for the back and joints.

There are very crowded central beaches, lovers of silence on the outskirts can find less visited beaches, and for daredevils there is even a nudist beach.

It is from Lazarevskoye that the subtropical zone begins, thanks to which the village maintains comfortable weather throughout the year: summer temperatures rise to +35 degrees, and winter temperatures do not fall below +5.

This is facilitated by the resort being surrounded by the Caucasus Mountains, which protect it from cold winds. Snow in Lazarevskoye is nonsense; it can be seen about five days a year. Thanks to this climate, rare plants can be found in the village:

  • palm trees,
  • magnolias,
  • cypress trees,
  • eucalyptus, etc.

The aquatic world is represented by crabs, mussels, rapana, a wide variety of fish and dolphins.

We noticed that there is an unimaginable number of canteens in Lazarevskoye! Vacationers in the reviews especially about - some even consider it the best and most inexpensive. The canteens “Salyut”, “Oreshnik”, “Mezzanine”, “Di Roma”, and Arnamal also have high ratings.

Ruthless southern marketing.

History of Lazarevsky

Founded in 1839, the village was named in honor of Mikhail Petrovich Lazarev, admiral and naval commander, who founded the first naval bases in these parts. Bust of M.P. Lazarev is installed in front of the railway station.

However, the indigenous inhabitants (Adygs-Shapsugs) consider him a persecutor of the peoples of the Caucasus, so they stole the bust, tied it with a metal cable to a train leaving the station, they even planned to send it to the naval commander’s homeland, the city of Vladimir, but they still returned it to its place.

During the Second World War, a military airfield was located next to the Pzeuapse River; now the streets named after the pilots remind us of this: Pavlov, Kalarash. By the way, it is on Kalarash Street that there is a monument to the Decembrist A.I. Odoevsky, and next to it is a ship’s cannon.

A rather interesting fact is that in the 19th century people were sent to these places “for hard labor.” And now they come here to rest and heal.

How to avoid getting an infection at sea

Intestinal infections are a really big problem in southern resorts. Rotavirus and norovirus are more often contracted by children and become seriously ill, but adults also suffer from it. Be sure to pack a first aid kit for your vacation and don’t forget your compulsory medical insurance policy. Young children should definitely be vaccinated against rotavirus.

In order not to catch an intestinal infection on the Black Sea (or indeed on any sea, even abroad), you need to follow basic hygiene rules:

  • Do not swallow sea water.
  • Wash fruits, vegetables and hands thoroughly before eating. Wash with running or bottled water, not in the sea!
  • Drink bottled or boiled water.
  • Don't buy food from street vendors.
  • Do not take perishable food to the beach.
  • If you cook yourself, pay attention to hygiene and cook and fry the food well.
  • Make sure that your child does not put stones, sand, soil or dirty hands into his mouth.

Transport

From the village of Lazarevskoye you can easily get to other areas of Greater Sochi. Bus number 77 runs to Sochi railway station.

There are only 4 internal city routes in Lazarevka: No. 67-70. You can drive around the village for 26 RUB. For convenience, an up-to-date schedule is posted at almost every stop indicating the exact time of arrival of buses.

Compared to Khosta, Central Sochi and Adler, there are very few minibuses in Lazarevskoye. And this is rather a plus - the roads are much calmer without them. But there are plenty of taxis. You can ride comfortably for about 200 RUB. In the summer, taxi drivers become more picky, the fare increases 5 times, or even more.

Excursions and entertainment

In central Sochi there are plenty of parks for walking, but in Lazarevskoye you can only walk along the embankment and in the park of culture and recreation - not a lot. The park will be interesting for children, as there are many attractions. From the Ferris wheel - they say that it is the tallest in Russia - a beautiful view opens up.

The beaches offer standard entertainment: “banana” - 300 ₽, “bun” - 400 ₽, “sofa” - 400 ₽ (the names are so funny!). You can also rent a catamaran, go fishing in the sea, or go diving - 2500-4000 rubles per dive.

We came to Lazarevskoye to see the most interesting thing - nature. There are so many beautiful sights around the resort! Many can be reached by car or bus. Go to the Svir Gorge, Mamedovo Gorge, “Berendeevo Kingdom”, Crab Gorge, look at the Volkonsky dolmen, the “Miracle Beauty” waterfall, Nadzhigo, Psydakh and Shapsug waterfalls, 33 waterfalls. Entrance to all natural places costs 200 ₽ per person.

And it’s easy to get to other interesting places in Sochi - just take the train! Well, if you don’t want to deal with logistics, take a tour. Check out Tripster for excursions from Lazarevskoe:

The well-maintained central beach is equipped with everything necessary for a comfortable seaside holiday. When is the best time to relax?

The climate in Lazarevskoye is very similar to Sochi. The most comfortable months, according to reviews from vacationers, are June, September and October, when there is no heat and high humidity. At this time it is better to come with children, as well as elderly people.

If you don’t need the sea, but just want to take a break from the hustle and bustle and take a walk in nature, then come in May. There are few tourists, and the weather is excellent.

We were in Lazarevskoye in October, at the end of the season. The sea was rough and almost no one was swimming. But many sunbathed on sun loungers and walked along the sea.

July and August are the peak season, and during the day the temperature often rises to +30°C and above. Sea water in summer is +24…+26°C, and in shallow water it can be even warmer.

Is it worth going?

If you are impressed by everything presented in this material, then, of course, it’s worth it. There is a lot of entertainment for every taste in Lazarevskoye. Every year something new appears, but the village remains just as well-groomed and beautiful. You can come here every holiday, you will never get tired of it.

On the other hand, if you don’t like crowded places and are willing to sacrifice the level of relaxation and amount of entertainment for the sake of tranquility, then you should take a closer look at less popular resorts. There are many small resort villages on the Black Sea coast.

What to bring

In the mountains near the resort village there are many medicinal herbs that strengthen the immune system. A trip to get them is a separate adventure. If extracting herbs yourself is not part of your plans, just take a stroll through the souvenir shops. There, in addition to beautifully packaged healing infusions, there will be souvenir bottles with herbal balms.

The world's northernmost Krasnodar tea is grown on the local mountain plantations. Finding it in Russian stores is almost impossible. A box of red, black, green or yellow Krasnodar tea will be an excellent gift for a connoisseur.

At the local market you can buy good chestnut honey, chacha, wine and churchkhela. Another edible souvenir from Lazarevskoe is the so-called Adyghe salt, very popular in the Caucasus. It is ordinary table salt mixed with aromatic seasonings.

As at any seaside resort, Lazarevsky’s souvenir shops sell scatterings of sea stones and shells, themed magnets and jewelry. Here you can also find Olympic-themed souvenirs: T-shirts, caps and, of course, toys that symbolize the Olympic Games in Sochi.
