Pasmurov's estate

What else to see in Almetyevsk and the surrounding area? Many tourists prefer to go to the estate of landowner Pasmurov, which was built in the 18th century and is the oldest building in the vicinity of the city.

The estate of that time was a spectacular three-story building with large white columns. Today this architectural creation is destroyed. All that remains of the estate is an old brick outbuilding and a small, overgrown pond. But despite this, the place attracts many tourists with its history.

Now there is a school here. In her museum you can see old photos of Almetyevsk landmarks from different angles.

The estate is located in the village of Novonikolsky, Almetyevsk district.

Park of Culture and Recreation "Health"

The forest area of mainly coniferous trees has been preserved in the park. At the entrance there is a three-dimensional figure with the inscription “Health”. The main purpose of the park is to help in the rehabilitation of patients and provide a place for meeting with relatives and friends.

The Health infrastructure has three directions:

  • the central square where an eco-style fountain is installed;
  • children's playground with entertainment center and planetarium;
  • a sports and recreation area with exercise equipment installed for the recovery of patients.

Among them there are simulators for people with disabilities.

Aktash Proval

Not far from the city there is a lake called Aktashsky Proval, which in 2005 was recognized as a natural monument of regional significance.

In August 1939, a tractor was working in a field near the village of Kaleikino. The unsuspecting tractor driver drove the tractor in the direction of one of the hills, and suddenly a gap formed below, into which the tractor and the tractor driver fell.

They were unable to get the tractor driver out, and the place acquired a bad reputation among local residents. A lake with clean and transparent water formed at the bottom of the hole. Several attempts were made to descend into the depths of the hole and find the sources of the current. But they were never found.

The Aktash failure is something that every tourist tries to see in Almetyevsk (more precisely in the Almetyevsky district). After all, according to legend, if you throw a pebble into the lake and make a wish, it will definitely come true.

Historical reference

The exact date of foundation of Almetyevsk is unknown. It is believed that this happened in the 20-30s of the 18th century. Thus, in 1840, during a survey, local residents reported that their settlement was founded 121 years ago, that is, in 1719. The first written mentions date back to 1735−1740, the time of the Bashkir uprising. A letter from Mullah Almet, considered the founder of the settlement, to Colonel Tatishchev about the plans of the rebels and their danger also dates back to these years.

By the end of the 18th century, 700 Bashkirs and Teptya lived here. According to the census of the mid-19th century, Almetyevsk already had 2 factories, a fair and bazaar, a mosque, a postal station, and more than 1.5 thousand residents.

The status of the settlement changed as follows:

  1. Since 1930 it has been a regional center.
  2. Since 1952 - an urban-type settlement.
  3. Since 1953 - a city of the Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic.

Today Almetyevsk is an economically developed city in which several large companies operate: several oil companies, including Tatneft, a road company, factories for the production of oil and gas pipes and pumps, and others.

Sports are developed here: hockey and cross-country skiing, rugby, football, aeronautics. The city boasts several sports teams and sports complexes, including a ski resort, bicycle and skate parks.

Interesting fact: the city has a unique cycling infrastructure, thanks to which the bicycle is extremely popular here and is in demand as a personal vehicle. Its popularization helped reduce mortality by 20%.

Other sights of Almetyevsk

In 2007, a monument to oil was erected in the city, which represents an oil fountain and consists of 12 silver jets 27 meters high.

The monument is located on Lenin Street. There are benches and flower beds nearby. This area has become a favorite place for local residents to meet and walk.

The cascade of ponds is another attraction of Almetyevsk on Gafiatullina Street. Here you can make a date or meet with friends, ride a bike, stand on the Lovers' Bridge and simply admire the surroundings.

Adjacent to the cascades is Gagarin Street, which is a long pedestrian promenade area. On its territory there are many gazebos, sculptures and various interesting objects.

There is also the Aeronaut sports club, which offers those who wish to take a ride over the city in a hot air balloon.

Here on Lenin Street there is an art gallery of Almetyevsk. What to see at the exhibition? Its funds contain thousands of works of decorative and applied art, paintings and sculptures by Soviet and Tatar masters.

The exhibitions of this gallery are enjoyed by both Almetyevsk residents and tourists coming to the city.

Interesting places

Despite its modest size, Almetyevsk can surprise tourists with a significant number of attractions and interesting places. These include museums, religious buildings and temples, monuments and natural attractions. There are also many sports facilities where those who wish can improve their health.

When choosing where to go in Almetyevsk, you should pay attention not only to museums and other buildings, but also to unusual monuments and sculptures.

Museums of various types

The city has a museum and art gallery, a palace of culture, a regional house of culture and a youth center. Those interested can also visit the local drama theater, founded in 1944, the Light Wings street theater, or watch a film at the local cinema.

The following museums are open in Almetyevsk:

  1. Museum of Local Lore (Mira Street, 1). It was opened in 1944. Its exhibition covers the life and history of Almetyevsk, with special attention paid to the history of the emergence and development of oil production. It presents household items and crafts, archaeological finds dating back to various eras, various documents and other written sources.
  2. Art gallery (Prospekt Stroiteley, 35). Most of the work is devoted to oil and local beauty. The gallery also owns a collection of paintings by the artist Kondrat Maksimov, who studied and lived in his beloved Tatarstan.
  3. Pasmurnov's estate. It is located in the village of Novonikolskoye, 22 km from the city and represents the remains of an estate built in the 18th century. Unfortunately, now only an outbuilding remains, but the local school museum has preserved photographs and information about the estate and its owners.

Another attraction is the city Maidan or square. It hosts city and sporting events.

Temples and mosques

Due to the heterogeneous national composition, religion in Almetyevsk is also represented by 2 main faiths - Islam and Orthodoxy. This was reflected in religious architecture.

Among the city's attractions are several temples and mosques:

  1. Cathedral Mosque named after Galeev. Construction began in 1990 and lasted about 9 years. The mosque received its name in honor of the former head of Tatneft, who made a great personal contribution to its construction. The mosque itself combines modern and canonical architectural solutions; it is decorated with stained glass windows, paintings and ceramic tiles. The building is crowned with a wide golden dome. Nearby are the religious center named after Riza Fakhretdin and the Islamic Institute.
  2. Second cathedral mosque. This is a small one-story building built in the 70s of the 19th century. In the 1930s, the mosque lost its minaret, but it was restored in the late 1990s.
  3. Church of the Nativity. Built in 2000 in honor of all the soldiers who have ever died. Despite its small age, the temple looks quite old. This impression is due to its shape (the Yaroslavl Alexander Nevsky Chapel, built at the end of the 19th century, was taken as the basis), the choice of color (red and yellow brick) and modest decorations.
  4. Temple of the Icon of the Mother of God. Built in 2007, its appearance resembles the Moscow Cathedral of Christ the Savior. The building consists of 2 floors: the upper one is dedicated to the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God, the lower one is dedicated to the Myrrh-Bearing Women. It is one of the most visited religious places in the city, thanks to its unique porcelain iconostasis.

In addition to these large religious buildings, there are many smaller ones in the city.

Park and walking areas

Entertainment in Almetyevsk is not limited to museums and religious places. The city has several landscaped parks and a reservoir. Almost all of them have been recently renovated and are suitable for visiting with a small child.

Lovers of walking and active recreation will be interested in visiting the following places:

  1. Cascade of ponds. It is located in the city center near the Galeev Mosque. Initially, the area was very swampy, but now there is a park with a pond, bicycle and roller paths, playgrounds and cafes where you can eat. It is noteworthy that nearby there is a registry office and a bridge of lovers, on which it is customary to hang a padlock as a sign of eternal love.
  2. Pedestrian promenade. Located on Gagarin Street near the Cascade of Ponds. This pedestrian area is decorated with sculptures, gazebos, a fountain and products of local blacksmiths.
  3. City park named after the 60th anniversary of Tatarstan oil. Its area is 16 hectares. On its territory there are walking alleys, playgrounds and a lovers' alley, monuments, including the Great Patriotic War Memorial, attractions and a zoo.
  4. Aktash failure. A natural monument of regional significance is located near Almetyevsk. It was formed by accident in 1939: while working, a tractor suddenly fell underground. Neither the car nor the tractor driver could be pulled out, and the hole quickly filled with clean water. Now the resulting lake enjoys a bad reputation. The water in it is highly mineralized, odorless and colorless.
  5. Reservoir on the Zai River. This is a natural area with picturesque views, equipped for family and active recreation. Here you can have a picnic, go boating, motorboats and catamarans. On the shore of the reservoir there is a hippodrome and several observation platforms.

In addition, the city has city squares and several public gardens, and bicycle paths stretch through the city.

Monuments and sculptures

In Almetyevsk you can find more than 10 different monuments. They are mainly associated with oil production, specific individuals and the Soviet past.

The most interesting places for guests include:

  1. “Peace to the world!” at the entrance to the city. This is the city's most remarkable monument that has survived the threat of demolition. Made in the form of 2 men carrying a globe entwined with a ribbon with the inscription “Peace”, and a woman walking in front of them. It was installed in 1955; later similar sculptures appeared in Moscow (poorly preserved), Ukhta and Vorkuta (now lost). The monument in Almetyevsk is best preserved: it only has a few letters missing on the ribbon of the globe.
  2. Monument "Mother Tataria". This is one of the unofficial symbols of the city. A 7-meter tall woman with curvy figures is depicted in a national costume, in one hand she holds the sun, and with the other she invites you to visit the city.
  3. Memorial to those who fell in the Great Patriotic War and the Eternal Flame. Installed in 1975 for the 30th anniversary of the Victory. Before this, a monument to the heroes of the Civil War stood on this site.

  8. "Karakuz". The 7-meter-high composition depicts a generalized female image from local myths. Karakuz is an ally of the daughter of the Ancient Bolgar Khan named Altynchech. According to legend, when the enemies defeated the khan, he and his family hid in a stone chamber. The conquerors set fire to the building, but at the site of the burnt remains they found the unharmed Altynchech. Struck by the girl’s beauty, the leader of the invaders agreed to release her brothers from captivity, who later founded the Kazan Khanate. Karakuz was born on the site of present-day Almetyevsk, and later defended her native land along with soldiers.
  9. Sculpture "In this amazing forest." It is dedicated to the Tatar poet Tukai, his works and stories. He rides a bicycle and carries in the trunk in front the fabulous Shurale, about which he wrote a poem. The work was carried out during the educational art project “Tales of Golden Apples”.
  10. Light and music fountain in a city park. The diameter of the bowl is 15 meters, the height of the jets is up to 5 m. In the evenings, the lighting is turned on, which is provided by more than 70 lamps of different colors.

In addition, several monuments dedicated to specific personalities have been erected in Almetyevsk: Lenin, Musa Jalil, Chekhov and a bust of Mayakovsky.

Life in Almetyevsk is closely connected with oil, its production and processing. Before your trip, you should look at photos of Almetyevsk attractions with names and descriptions in advance to decide which ones you need to visit.
