Aquariums and zoos

To get acquainted with the underwater world of the Black Sea, it is not necessary to go diving. In Anapa and its surroundings there are several oceanariums and aquariums where you can see the inhabitants of the Black Sea, as well as fish from other seas and oceans.

It was originally conceived as an ostrich farm. Ostriches settled on the Usatova Balka farm at the beginning of the new millennium, settled well and got used to the “cool” climate. However, the owners of the farm tried to do everything possible, bringing the new house closer to the native African savannah.

African ostriches are quite funny in appearance: a tiny head crowns a long neck, which originates from a fluffy body. The creatures calmly walk around in the enclosures, looking at visitors with curiosity.

The guides will conduct an educational excursion in particular about ostrich breeding. “This is not only valuable fur...” And indeed, the business is profitable: wonderful jewelry is made from feathers, an omelet comes out of one egg, which is enough to feed a dozen people, and the meat is tender and nutritious. By the way, you will be offered to try it at a local cafe.

Ostriches have neighbors. Pheasants, peacocks, ducks, chickens, and turkeys live nearby. Birds can be fed and interacted with. The exception is the black vulture, which is too harsh and unsociable in character. You will also get to know a fox, a bear, a jungle cat and other animals.

A pottery workshop has been opened on the territory of “Aristea” . Visitors enjoy making pots and jugs under the supervision of experienced potters; the product can be taken home with them.

Cinema and theaters

During the high season, concerts and theater performances are held regularly; almost every evening you can choose an interesting option for cultural leisure. And during the low season months you can always go to the cinema.

The main concert and theater venue of Anapa, “Summer Stage” , is open even in rainy times. For this occasion, the Summer Stage is equipped with a canopy. Performances by local groups and Russian pop stars take place here; in the summer months, the capital's theaters bring their productions to the resort. In the cultural center you can watch performances by folk groups, including representatives of the Cossack community. Not far from Anapa, in Sukko, an authentic imitation of a medieval castle was built - “Lion's Head” . The castle hosts knightly fights, accompanied by performances by acrobats, games with fire and a show of trained horses. The dolphinarium is unique in that it is located in a sea lagoon, and the spectator seats are on the edge of the lagoon. A canopy protects the audience from the sun, but in severe bad weather (thunderstorm, storm) the show may be cancelled. This is the oldest dolphinarium in Anapa - it has been operating since 1992. After the show, you can take pictures with dolphins and ride on a boat driven by dolphins.
