The resort microdistrict is located half an hour from Sochi. There is no bustle or city noise in Dagomys. A wonderful place for lovers of a quiet holiday by the sea! Attractions
Dagomys is not a large resort town. However, there are many beaches and attractions that seem to invite tourists to look at them, take photographs, in order to get a lot of new positive emotions and a good mood for a long time.
Museum of the History of Krasnodar Tea
There used to be a tea factory here, but now it's a museum. Here you can see a miniature model of a tea plantation and a production line for making this drink, and also visit the hall where a huge number of samovars are displayed.
This museum also has exhibits of cars and motorcycles. All models are rare. There are 11 of them in the exhibition. It is stated that their total price is $1,000,000.
Tea houses
Another interesting attraction on the theme of tea are houses in ethno style. They are called “tea teas”. The excursion will be educational. Here you can try local tea from a samovar on charcoal. The drink is served with jam and baked goods.
Boxwood Falls
In the vicinity of Dagomys there are many natural sites attractive to tourists. One of them is Boxwood Falls. They are located in a mountain gorge with a lot of vegetation. They got their name thanks to the boxwood that carefully covers the banks.
The height of the object is 5 m. Here you can walk, enjoying the fresh air and immersed in thoughts in complete silence (except for the pleasant and soothing murmur of falling water). Mount Fisht
The height of Mount Fisht reaches almost 3 km. This peak is so beautiful that it is often given the name “Mountain of Seven Wonders.”

Mount Uspenka
Uspenka is much lower than Fisht (about 150 m), many people come to admire it, because it looks unusual. From a geometric point of view, it is an isosceles trapezoid, and its entire surface is completely covered with lush green trees.
Residents of Dagomys believe that the Cossack Yegor Uspensky was once buried here, and people brought earth in their hats to bury the coffin, which is why the mountain of this trapezoidal shape appeared.
"Trough"
This object received this name due to the accumulation of lakes and pools in the bed of the Western Dagomys River. These amazingly beautiful reservoirs were formed here as a result of the influence of natural factors: sunlight, air currents, sedimentary rocks.
Water smoothly flows from one body of water to another, and then rushes downstream. Locals call this place “Lakes of Love”.
This object is natural, the area nearby is well landscaped. Everyone who comes here to admire this delightful attraction can sit in the gazebo or have a picnic in a specially designated area with barbecues.
And although there is no diving service in Dagomys itself, vacationers have the opportunity to personally meet sea creatures. 100 km from here, in the village of Loo, there are diving training centers. Diving is also organized here for everyone. Accordingly, you can get all the equipment required for this.
Vacationers can get from Dagomys to Loo for free, but for diving they need to pay a small amount - 3,000 rubles. If the diver is certified, he will be given a 50% discount. You can become one if you undergo the appropriate international training, which is conducted here.
Waterpark AquaLoo
In the village of Loo there is a water park, which is a huge entertainment center where water attractions operate year-round - high slides for adults and small pools for children.

Lake Huku
Among the beautiful and mysterious places of Dagomys is Lake Huku, which is famous for the absence of fish and algae in it. Not a single river flows into it, and the scientific world has long struggled with the question of how this reservoir was formed here.
The bottom of the lake is 10 m from its surface, and it itself is located at an altitude of almost 1,750 m from the sea surface. This lake offers stunning views of green hills.
Baranovsky forest
Not far from Dagomys there is the Baranovsky Forest - a place that is great for picnics, walks and a pleasant pastime. There are swings and many monuments.
Cross Desert
This is a men's monastery where the icon of the Mother of God is kept. Anyone planning to visit this desert should remember that taking photographs inside is prohibited. You can enter here only if you are dressed in modest attire. For women, this is a dress; the head should not be exposed.
Not far from the monastery there is the Holy Spring of the healer Panteleimon.
Is it expensive to go on vacation?
There are many grocery stores in Dagomys, including Magnit and Pyaterochka supermarkets. Competition does not allow prices to go up to the limit. In summer, food at the resort is more expensive than in ordinary Russian cities, but cheaper than in Sochi.
In Dagomys it is easy to find accommodation for every taste and budget. Prices for rooms in guesthouses and hotels are 5-10% lower than in the center of Sochi. Look for housing in Dagomys on Hotelluk and Sutochno.
You will pay for beach activities, as on the entire Black Sea coast. Renting a sun lounger costs 150 rubles, a sun umbrella costs 100 rubles, renting a catamaran costs 200 rubles, and riding a banana boat costs 300-350 rubles.

Dagomys temples and chapels
The most beautiful buildings in Dagomys are the churches and chapels crowned with golden domes, on which the spiritual life of the city is based.
Temple of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God

In 1992, construction began on the main Dagomys temple. The monumental five-domed structure in the pseudo-Byzantine style took several years to build.
Now the work has been completed and Dagomys is decorated with a magnificent snow-white temple. Massive vaults, spindles and heavy arched portals give it an impressive appearance. Gables, panoramic windows and medallions add an elegant touch.
The temple has a high base and stands on a hill. There is a platform around it, fenced with a balustrade. This is a picturesque place that delights parishioners.
Chapel of the Royal Martyrs

Dagomys was the place where the family of Nicholas II vacationed. In 2008, a chapel was erected in their memory. This is a simple wooden building with gable roofs, on the ridges of which drums with golden domes are installed.
The main shrine of the temple is the icon, where the Romanovs are depicted as saints. The chapel is located on the territory of the Kazan Church.
Things to do
The resort has good diving conditions. Not far from Dagomys, two sunken ships lie at the bottom of the Black Sea. Underwater you can see colorful fish, crabs, algae and jellyfish. There is no diving club in Dagomys. If you want to dive, contact the diving centers in Sochi or Loo.

"Wild" coast for tent campers

The beaches of Dagomys are divided into two categories: developed and wild. There are two main beaches that are equipped: Central and the line of the Dagomys health complex. To the wild ones: Dikiy, Nudist beaches and the shore of the 72nd kilometer. Basically, vacationers prefer equipped beaches adjacent to health centers and houses. On such beaches, in addition to sunbeds, there are changing rooms, retail outlets, boat and catamaran rentals. Taking into account the affordable prices, any tourist can afford to spend a vacation on such beaches.
Most of Dagomys beaches are free. Of all the five, one escaped to paid beaches - the shore of the Dagomys health complex. This is not surprising, because the beach received a “blue flag” in 2016, which indicates its environmental cleanliness and high quality of services. However, wild beaches can boast of their advantages: a cozy and quiet atmosphere and pristine nature.

Story
The name Dagomys was given by the river, which, not far from the mouth, divides into two branches - Eastern and Western. They flow among numerous rocky and shady gorges, densely covered with forest vegetation, so the Circassians once called this area “Deg(y)umez” - “dead” or “good” forest. Some talk about the expression "Tygyemyps", literally meaning "the place where the sun does not shine."

People have settled along its shores since the Stone Age. The Ubykh peoples, who lived in villages on the Caucasian slopes, did not ignore Dagomys, and their last supreme prince, Haji Berzek, lived at the mouth of the river, before forced emigration to the Ottoman Empire.
The baton was picked up by the Russian Empire, whose nobles and officials began to buy land here after the end of the Caucasian War, setting up summer cottages. Dagomys was given special prestige by the imperial subsidiary farm and cattle and dairy farm, organized under Nicholas II on 2,500 hectares of land. A beautiful park was laid out under the king’s estate, most of which has survived to this day.
