What to see in Adler? Interesting tourist places

Greetings to all our readers from Sochi!

Yes, yes, we arrived in Sochi at 6 o’clock in the morning. We got off the plane, quickly went through passport control, picked up our luggage and left the airport. I’ll write right away that our one day in Sochi was not very productive, because we failed to plan it correctly. Next time we'll pay more attention to planning.

The first thing we saw, or rather breathed in, was air! Oh, what is the air here!! What air!!! I can't describe it in words. It is so fresh and tasty that all we did all day in Sochi was try to get enough of it for the whole year ahead. When I remember my feelings about leaving the airport, I get goosebumps.

Olympic Park

The Olympic Park was built for the 2014 Olympics in Sochi. All the necessary infrastructure for holding sporting events and comfortable recreation for visitors was built on its territory. Now all stadiums and buildings are functioning. The stadiums are still the center of sporting events, and the media center building now serves other functions. In the center there is a fountain with the Olympic torch.

There are many cafes and restaurants, shops and souvenir shops in the park. The park hosts shows, concerts and various sporting events. There are also many places where you can rent a bicycle. Next to the park there is a train station, also built for the Olympics.

  • Address: Adler, Olympic Park.

Many Olympic facilities that remained after the Sochi 2014 Olympics continue to be used. They host training, competitions, and shows. Some are being dismantled. You can book a tour of the park in an electric car or take an electric scooter. But if you like to walk a lot, then you can get around everything on your own.

The Formula 1 track is also located here; you can see the track itself and the stands next to the Olympic venues.

In the evenings, all objects are illuminated. The center of attraction is the singing fountain “Olympic Flame Bowl” on Medalnaya Square. The musical accompaniment changes depending on the day of the week. It is better to look at the repertoire and schedule in advance on the official website. The fountain is periodically closed for maintenance, which lasts several days.

It is better to watch the show from a pedestrian bridge, as if a little from above, in order to appreciate all the visual effects (for example, stars sparkling in the water). The Olympic Park has interesting museums, for example, Nikola Tesla, Leonardo, ancient animals, a dinosaur exhibition, and a car museum. Next door is Sochi Park with its breathtaking rides and fabulous hotels.

Throughout Adler you can find symbols of the Olympics and the World Cup.

Shopping and entertainment in one place

What to do in the evening in Adler for those who like to combine business with pleasure? Of course, go to one of the shopping and entertainment centers that are open until late and offer all kinds of fun: from shopping to movie shows, computer games and restaurants. The list of leaders often includes:

  • "New Age";
  • "Mandarin";
  • Plaza City.

There is not much entertainment in the Novy Vek shopping center, but there are shops and boutiques, and many cute cafes. “Mandarin” is a mall that opens up a new philosophy of recreation and offers chic shopping, beach fun, laser shows, concerts, a karaoke bar, and many restaurants with cuisine from around the world.

Adler's largest shopping and entertainment complex is Plaza City, it is organized in the best traditions of similar establishments in Western Europe. There are many shops on the ground floor, sports boutiques on the second, catering on the third. Among the fast food cafes you can find famous European brands, there is its own cinema, and slot machines are installed. The highlight of the complex is an ice skating rink with the possibility of renting equipment; skating on a hot summer day is refreshing.

Amusement park Sochi Park

A large park with an area of 25 hectares is divided into thematic zones. The park has 20 modern attractions, a dolphinarium and the Bogatyr Hotel. Among the attractions are the highest extreme slides with high-speed descents, a huge swing in the shape of a ship, family and water attractions and a Ferris wheel 60 meters high.

There is also an illusion room where quests, shows and performances are held. The park also has a sovarium where you can touch and feed birds, and a petting zoo. There are special science areas for children where interesting science experiments are shown.

There is also an area for board game lovers. For very young visitors there are special children's attractions and a huge indoor playground, animators work. There are cafes and restaurants in the park.

Where to go to the beach

There are 17 km of beaches along the coastline, most of them pebble, but there are also sandy ones. Paid entrance only in the territories of some boarding houses (for example, "Burgas", "Yuzhny"), sanatoriums ("Adler" and "Znanie") and hotels. Everywhere there is approximately the same range of entertainment and “buns” and scooters, trampolines and inflatable slides for children, awnings, sunbeds, changing rooms, showers, toilets and countless kiosks with ice cream and fast food. There are paid parking lots nearby.

The central city beach "Chaika" stretches from the sanatorium "South Coast" to the right bank of the Mzymta River. It is covered with small pebbles, and in places with sand, and is protected from the surf by a breakwater. The bottom is flat, descends smoothly, there are no strong currents. This is an ideal place for families with children; the little ones have an inflatable pool on the shore.

  • Larisa Chernyavskaya

The Ogonyok beach on the other side of the Southern Seashore is strewn with small sharp pebbles; you should not appear here without “coral sandals.” But the water is noticeably cleaner than on any sandy beach. Further on there is a wide strip of beaches. They are separated from the residential sector by a railway track, but are always full of people. At the height of the season it is difficult to find a free place here.

The beach near Nizhneimeretinskaya Bay was built only in preparation for the Olympics. It is covered with large pebbles, the bottom drops quickly, and the water is clear. Boats and yachts are rented at the berths of the Imereti port; diving, windsurfing, kitesurfing centers operate here, and extreme sports enthusiasts go paragliding.

Adler Park of Culture and Leisure

Romashek Street, 1

Adler Culture and Recreation Park is located in the Central Microdistrict of Adler at the intersection of Lenin and Romashek streets. You can get here from public transport stops such as “Vzletnaya”, “RUDN University”, “Sportbaza” and “Yuzhnoe Vzmorye”. There are many buses through the center of Adler from any part of Sirius, Khosta or Adler, so finding this Amusement Park will not be difficult.

Adler Central Park of Culture and Culture is located near the Embankment

This amusement park, of course, is not a competitor to Sochi Park. There are more primitive and familiar attractions here, but the prices here are many times more affordable than in Sochi Park, and besides, entrance to the park is absolutely free, you only pay for the use of the attractions.

The center has been operating in Adler since 1980, and its opening was timed to coincide with the May 1st holiday. The level of its entertainment component, aimed primarily at children, has not changed significantly since then, which is why it is often called “Retro Park.” Adults here enjoy walking along shady alleys, sitting in ivy-covered gazebos, and remembering their happy childhood.

TsPKO attractions for children are very interesting and attractive

Attractions such as the Autodrom and the Ferris Wheel are in constant demand; children love to walk around the town of Alice and experience some dizziness in the Upside Down House. And it’s a lot of fun to go into the “Room of Laughter” with your parents, who here again become carefree and laughing children. There is also a popular petting zoo and outdoor exercise equipment in the park.

One of the most popular petting zoos in this region is located in the Central Park of Culture and Culture.

In addition to visiting the attractions, here you can walk for a long time through the green territory of the park itself, admiring its artificial lakes and beautifully designed landscaped corners. There are many cafes and small restaurants in the park that play live music in the evenings. By the way, in the evenings this park becomes a very popular vacation spot for local residents and visiting vacationers. After all, at this time, bright lights turn on here, multi-colored fountains look beautiful, and cheerful music sounds everywhere.

Travel budget

Adler is a summer resort. But in winter, oddly enough, prices here are higher than in summer. Let's look at some expense items (travel, housing).

  • Air ticket from Moscow to Sochi in both directions ≈ 12,500 ₽ (Utair airline) according to Aviasales.ru →
  • Train ticket Moscow - Adler ≈ 4100 ₽ (reserved seat), 8700 (compartment) - current prices on Poezd.ru →

  • The cost of travel on the Sochi-Adler bus is 100 rubles.

Take a good mood and go for a walk!

As practice shows, Adler is popular among tourists not only in summer. This was greatly facilitated by the Winter Olympics, after which a developed infrastructure remained here. If you want to celebrate the New Year or spend the New Year holidays in an unusual way, come to Adler in January. Excellent ski resorts, a rich excursion program and other entertainment will await you.

Sochi

Central Sochi is one of the most visited places when traveling outside of Adler. In winter, restaurants, shopping centers and other establishments useful to tourists are open there. People come to the center of Sochi to see its main attractions, walk along the well-groomed streets, and sometimes just compare it with summer. “Off-season” on warm, rainy days will indicate the absence of resort bustle and leaves on some trees.

Take a walk along the Central Embankment , at this time it is completely different than in the summer: a few visitors leisurely admire the sea. On the main street Navaginskaya , a pedestrian alley, it’s time to look into the “Mega Museum of the USSR” and look at thousands of familiar but bygone objects. Nearby, at the City History Museum, you can learn about how and when the country's main southern resort was born. Go to Seaside Park or Riviera Park , they will delight you with green plants and even flowers. In the port, winter can be completely unnoticeable: everywhere there are only snow-white yachts, evoking memories of sea voyages.

Halfway to Sochi, in the area of the Primorsky state farm, stands the dacha of Colonel A.V. Kvitko. It was built at the beginning of the 20th century at the request of his wife. The mansion has features of Italian architecture and looks like a small stone castle. Today it is in an abandoned state, although after the October Revolution it changed its purpose more than once.

The dacha is open to those wishing to view the architecture, conduct a photo shoot and admire the sea views. The interiors have not been preserved, but paintings, mirrors and even a piano enliven the former atmosphere. Where to go if it’s your first time in the city

Object number one, of course, is the nearest beach, and number two is the Adler market. The aromas of oriental spices tickle your nostrils, and the counters are filled with southern fruits and vegetables. Here you can buy fresh meat and fish, local wine, sheep cheese, suluguni, churchkhela.

It’s nice to end the first day of your stay in Adler in the Olympic Park near the magnificent color and musical fountain. 264 powerful water jets are illuminated by LED spotlights, hundreds of stars twinkle on the surface of the water, and fog blows around. Every evening there is a classical music concert accompanied by a light show.
