The establishment of the village dates back to 1915. Before the end of the Caucasian War, on the site of the modern village, there were settlements of people from Bolshaya Shapsugia. After the Muhajir era, the lower reaches of the Agoy River were deserted for several decades. In 1915, the mouth of the Agoy River began to be populated again by various settlers. According to the revision on January 1, 1917, the village in the Agoy tract was listed as part of the Tuapse district of the Black Sea province. On April 26, 1923, the village of Agoy became part of the Velyaminovskaya volost of the Tuapse district of the Black Sea district of the Kuban-Black Sea region. On May 21, 1935, in connection with the temporary liquidation of the Tuapse region, the village of Agoy was transferred to the jurisdiction of the city of Tuapse. On April 16, 1940, the village was returned to the restored Tuapse district. At the same time, the village was elected as the administrative center of the newly formed Agoi Village Council.
Climate
The climate in the village is transitional from temperate to subtropical. It is mainly characterized by air masses blowing from the Black Sea. The average annual temperature is about +13.5°C, with average July temperatures around +23°C, and average January temperatures around +4.5°C. The average annual precipitation is about 1200 mm per year. The bulk of precipitation falls in winter.

The beaches in the area of the village are pebbly. There is a central municipal beach, 400 meters long, and a beach area belonging to the Chaika recreation center. The sea water is clean, the descent into the water is gentle, the depth increases gradually, there are no large stones or sections of rocks. The beach strip is 1 km long and 20-30 meters wide. The seabed off the coast is flat, without protrusions or large rocks. The swimming season lasts from late May to early October.
A small sand and pebble beach is located near the Kiselev rock, with smooth steep walls 43 meters high. It is located between Cape Kadosh and the village of Agoy, 4 km northwest of the city of Tuapse.
