Architectural landmarks

Ufa, whose sights can amaze every tourist, has a unique architectural appearance. One of the architectural attractions is the Congress Hall. The building was built in 2007 for the 450th anniversary of the Republic of Bashkortostan. It is truly unique - its architecture combines a modern glazed facade and Bashkir ornament.

The Congress Hall hosts the most significant events of a republican scale. The building is located at the address: Zaki Validi Street, building 2. The Ufa Arena Ice Palace is a multifunctional complex that hosts not only hockey matches, but also ice performances, performances, shows, as well as public skating.

It is the home arena for the Salavat Yulaev hockey team. The grand opening took place on August 27, 2007. The complex includes 2 sites: large (for 8070 people) and small (for 640 people). The arena has special areas for wheelchair users to attend events. Ufa-Arena is located at the address: Lenin Street, building 114.

Not far from the Congress Hall is the main building of the republican government - the House of the Republic. The Government, the Administration of the Head of Bashkortostan, the Constitutional Court and other government bodies are located here. The building has been in operation since 1979. It looks quite impressive. The walls are made of white brick. The House of the Republic has the shape of a rectangle, close to a square.

The building in the inner courtyard is connected to the outer one. Around is Alexander Matrosov's garden, fountains and sculptures. Address of the House of the Republic: Tukaev Street, building 46. Ufa, whose attractions are also associated with sports, has its own hippodrome “Akbuzat”.

Its history began back in 1883, and the hippodrome acquired its modern appearance after a large-scale reconstruction completed in 2007.

Now this is one of the best Russian equestrian sports complexes. In addition to the arena, stables and veterinary post, the 4-level building houses a hotel for competition participants and a museum. Hippodrome address: Mendeleeva, 217A. In the historical center of the city, at Revolyutsionnaya, 41, one of the tallest buildings in Ufa is located - the office of Uralsib Bank.

It includes 21 floors and has a height of 100.5 m. There are practically no high-rise buildings in this area, so the skyscraper adorns the panorama of the city, dominating the landscape.

The facade of the building is made of dark glass, gray and brown building panels. Due to its unusual shape, the building received the popular names “mobile phone” and “candle”. During the New Year's Eve, a figure of Santa Claus is installed on the roof.

"Ufa-Arena" (Salavat Yulaev Sports Palace)

The arena was built in 2007. This complex is designed to host various types of events, in particular sports, as well as concerts. Mostly hockey matches are held there. The second is a small ice rink with stands for 640 seats, with a total area of 8300 square meters. m, covered parking.

Monuments

The monument to the national Bashkir hero Salavat Yulaev is the most famous monument in the Republic of Bashkortostan, its calling card. It is depicted on the coat of arms and is an object of Russian cultural heritage. The opening took place on November 17, 1967. The height of the pedestal is 5.2 m, the height of the monument itself is 9.8 m, the weight is 40 tons. Salavat Yulaev is depicted on a horse, with a whip in his hand, and a saber at his side.

Ufa has various attractions. The visiting card of the city is the monument to the hero Salavat Yulaev.

At night, the monument looks especially impressive due to the illumination from below. Tourists love it not only for its cultural significance, but also for the stunning panorama of the river and city surroundings that opens from the cliff. The attraction is one of the seven wonders of Bashkiria.

Another cultural site protected by the state is the 30 m high Friendship Monument.

The shape of the monument is a sword with a buried hilt. At its base there are figures of two women (Russian and Bashkir), in whose hands there are laurel wreaths. The monument was opened in 1965 as a symbol of friendship between Russia and Bashkortostan. In 2006, the monument was reconstructed. The object is located on the embankment of the Belaya River in the area of the stop of the same name as the monument.

In 1980, a monument to two heroes of the USSR, Alexander Matrosov and Minnigali Gubaidullin, was unveiled in Victory Park. During the war, these 2 young men accomplished the same feat - they covered enemy embrasures with their own chests. The obelisk is 25 m high, decorated with portraits of heroes and a golden star at the top.

Below is the figure of a soldier in a flowing cloak, symbolizing death in the name of the life of descendants. At the foot there is an Eternal Flame. In the same park in 2015, on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Great Victory, a monument to home front workers was unveiled. It is dedicated to representatives of those professions who, during the war, provided the front with clothing, food, weapons and other necessary things.

The composition consists of 7 bronze figures: an oil worker, a seamstress, a steel worker, a machine operator with a small grandson, and a reaper with her daughter. In the background there is a bas-relief depicting trains with products going to the front. The stele of the monument is decorated with the Order of Victory. At the address st. October Revolution 3A is one of the buildings of the Pedagogical University.

On October 8, 2008, in the square in front of it, a monument was erected to the educator and poet Miftakhetdin Akmullah, whose name the university bears. The composition depicts Akmullah's conversation with children. Anyone can sit on one of the stones of the monument, thereby joining this communication and taking a memorable photo.

Embankment of the Belaya River

Many cities in Russia (and not only) are located on rivers, and, of course, the embankment has always become an important place, the center of public life, and often the only way of communication and trade. In Ufa, the “main water artery” is the Belaya River. The street running along it is called Embankment; it was recently reconstructed and landscaped (albeit partially, but even this had to wait quite a long time), so now townspeople and tourists come here again.

Embankment of the Belaya River

There is an observation deck with views of the opposite shore, bicycle paths, and walking areas. In the future, it is planned to make one of the bridges over Belaya pedestrian and thus organize both banks into a single zone.

  • Address: st. Embankment.
  • Cost of visiting: free.

Religious sites

Not far from Victory Park, at Komarova 5, is located one of the symbols of the Republic of Bashkortostan - the Lyalya-Tulpan mosque. The building resembles a blossoming flower, and the minarets are its buds. This flower was not chosen by chance, since it is the tulip that symbolizes Allah for Muslims. The mosque opened its doors on April 7, 1998.

The building consists of 3 floors, its height is more than 20 m, and the height of the minarets is 53 m. The area of the mosque is 2500 sq.m. “Lala-Tulpan” is not only a mosque, but also a madrasah, Sunday schools, classrooms, a dormitory and a conference hall.

The largest Ufa Orthodox cathedral is the Cathedral of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary.

It is an object of historical and cultural heritage. The consecration and opening of the temple took place on September 6, 1909. Its height is 21 m, including the bell tower - 47 m. The modern appearance is the result of several reconstructions. The building is sky blue and is crowned with golden domes.

The interior decoration of the temple is truly amazing - the walls and floor are decorated with the best Italian and Greek stones. Italian emerald-colored minerals were used for the mosaic, as well as granite from South Africa. The walls and ceiling are covered with paintings. The cathedral contains parts of the relics of many saints. Address: Kirova, 102.

The Ar-Rakhim mosque is being built in Ufa, which will become the tallest in Russia. The facility is located at the intersection of Salavat Yulaev Avenue and Kommunisticheskaya Street. Despite the fact that construction has not yet been completed, the mosque impresses every resident and guest of the city with its appearance and scale. The height of the four Al-Rahim minarets is 74 m.

The design uses classical Islamic motifs in combination with elements of Bashkir ornament. It uses only hand work. The mosque consists of 6 floors, 2 of them underground. Inside there will be prayer halls, a conference hall, a museum, a library and other premises. Capacity – 2000 people. A park and fountains will be equipped in the adjacent area.

There will be 2 observation platforms for tourists. A special feature of the mosque is that it will house a relic - a hair from the beard of the Prophet Muhammad. On Mingazheva 4 there is the Church of the Intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary, which is the oldest surviving Ufa church. Despite its not the most convenient location, the temple is worth visiting for all believers.

An ancient icon of the Intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary is kept here. The church is protected by the state as a cultural heritage. Restraint in architecture and design does not prevent it from being a significant place among Orthodox Christians. Another cultural heritage site is the Bogorodsko-Ufa Church.

This is one of the largest churches in the Ufa diocese. It houses a relic - the Bogorodsko-Ufa Icon of the Mother of God. There is a Sunday school at the church for adults and children. At services you can listen to the church choir, created in 2008. Temple address: Ferina 15.

Abzanovsky waterfall

It’s not surprising, but the Abzanovsky waterfall is one of those that is more impressive in winter. It is formed by a spring falling from a 6 m high cliff into the Inzer River near the village of Abzanovo. In summer, the waterfall is a barely visible curtain of water made of drops. In winter there is a whole wall of white and turquoise ice, under which thin streams of a spring gurgle. Unlike in summer, in the cold season you can get from the village to the waterfall without resorting to a boat - along the ice of the river.

House-museum of the writer S.T. Aksakova

This is a historical and architectural monument.

The Aksakov family settled here when the future writer turned 4 years old. The owner of the house was Sergei Aksakov’s grandfather Nikolai Zubov, who served as an assistant to the governor general.

The museum has 14 halls. The memorial part recreates the interiors of the 2nd half of the 18th century: living room, dining room, tea room, study, children's bedroom, playroom. From them you can imagine how the families of the highest officials of the Ufa governorship lived, and get acquainted with the family chronicle of the Aksakov family.

Corner of the office.

The literary part of the exhibition contains materials about the work of Sergei Timofeevich.

One of the halls is dedicated to the activities of G.S. Aksakov - the son of the writer, the first governor of Ufa.

The second floor of the house is surrounded by a balcony. You can climb it.

You will not be able to view the exhibition on your own. You will definitely be accompanied by a museum employee and offered a detailed or sightseeing tour. Quite an overview.

The most interesting and unusual places

Ufa, whose sights are of great importance in the culture of the country, has not only many monuments and museums, but also quite interesting objects and places. For example, the Botanical Garden (Polyarnaya Street, Building 8). This is one of the leading republican scientific institutions, one of the Russian botanical gardens with the largest collections of plants.

Woody plants, tropical and subtropical plants, annual and perennial flowers grow on its territory. The main areas of activity are the study of the flora of the republic, the selection of ornamental plants, and the preservation of plant biodiversity.

For animal lovers in Ufa there is “Koteynaya” - an anti-cafe where visitors spend time surrounded by two dozen cats. The cafe operates on the principle of paying only for the time spent. In addition to playing with cats, you can drink tea and coffee with sweets for free, as well as play board games. Address of the establishment: 50th anniversary of October 26.

You can admire the view of Ufa from above on the Iremel Ferris wheel. Its height is 58 meters, which makes the wheel the tallest in the Volga Federal District and the third tallest in Russia. The largest Ufa attraction is located near the shopping center of the same name on Mendeleev Street 137.

The Garden of Culture and Leisure named after S.T. was repeatedly named the best park. Aksakova.

This is a favorite vacation spot for Ufa residents and one of the most visited places by newlyweds. The landscaped area includes children's attractions, a cafe, and a dance floor. But the main attraction of the park is the lake, which is home to fish, ducks and white swans. Near the lake there is a forged scarlet flower, decorated with a heart with handprints.

The largest Ufa fountain, “Seven Girls,” will also be of interest to tourists. The diameter of its bowl is 18 m. The sculpture and the name of the fountain are based on the legend of seven girls who drowned in the lake while fleeing from robbers.

The opening took place on June 30, 2015. The fountain is located between the Bashkir State Opera and Ballet Theater and Gostiny Dvor. In the evenings, the lights and music are turned on, which makes the fountain even more attractive.

Victory Park and Sokolovaya Mountain

The top of Sokolovaya Mountain is one of the highest points in the city (165 meters). From the observation deck there is a magnificent view of the city itself, the Volga and its green islands, the opposite bank and the city of Engels (Saratov is connected to it by a bridge).

The mountain received its name (one version) from the name of the robber Sokol (Sokolov), who walked around the area in the 17th century and robbed merchant caravans. There are many legends about treasures buried by “dashing people” in the vicinity of Saratov (sometimes these treasures are found).

There is an opinion among historians and local historians that the city owes its name to Sokolova Mountain. Sary-tau - yellow mountain - perhaps this is what the Turkic nomads called it.

At the top of Sokolova Mountain in 1982, the “Cranes” spread their wings - a monument to fellow countrymen who died during the war. The author of the composition is Yu.I. Menyakin. 12 cranes fly over the city, reminding those living today of the great feat.

Victory Park on Sokolova Mountain - an open-air museum of military equipment. The park was founded for the 30th anniversary of the Victory (1975).

Over the years, an entire historical and patriotic complex has been formed, numbering 180 pieces of equipment. Agricultural machinery working in the rear is also not forgotten.

The heart of the complex is the Saratov State Museum of Military Glory. Its servants managed to collect a huge collection (almost 27,000 units) of weapons, awards, and documents from the last war.

The water park is located in the Planeta shopping center at the address: Entuziastov 20.

The museum is located on Sofia Perovskaya Street 52/2 in the South Pole shopping center.
  3. Dinosaur Park "Yurkin Park". It operates in the Gafuri Park only in the summer, but despite this, it is very popular. This is due to the fact that some of the dinosaurs presented there are life-sized, make sounds and breathe. Children can also take part in impromptu excavations, which gives them special pleasure.

  4. RK "Jolly Roger". This is another establishment where both children and adults can have a great time. While children have fun on the play simulators, swings, carousels and soft pools, their parents can spend time playing bowling or having dinner at the restaurant. The location of the complex is Yakutov Park.
  5. In the Ufa Planetarium (address: October Avenue 79/2) children have the opportunity to become familiar with astronomy, space and the secrets of the Universe. Unique programs will tell you about various space objects, constellations and planets. Thanks to 3D animation, the show will truly captivate children of all ages.

Mosque-madrassah “Lala-Tulpan”

The name of the mosque (“Lala-Tulpan” - “Flower of Revival”) reflects one of the symbols of the Muslim religion: a bud of a spring tulip just beginning to bloom. It was under the influence of this image that the external appearance of the structure was formed, especially the two octagonal minarets with red-pink tiled tops - they can be seen from afar and from various points of the city. The interior is also very impressive: colored stained glass and mosaics, oriental style and floral patterns. The mosque is open to visitors regardless of the religion of the guests.

TOP restaurants in Ufa for a romantic evening

Going to a restaurant is an integral part of a date. True, in order for it to be remembered for a long time, you need to choose not a banal eatery near your home, but an atmospheric establishment with good cuisine and a rich program. Believe me, your efforts will not be in vain, leaving pleasant memories of the time spent.

Time Cafe New York Coffee

  • Address: Verkhnetorgovaya square, 1.

There is an unusual American-style antique cafe in Ufa. There are no alcoholic drinks on the menu here, but you can drink delicious aromatic coffee to your heart's content. And, of course, sweets, where would we be without them?

Awesome toast with berry jam, all kinds of cookies, chocolate, sweets - a real paradise for those with a sweet tooth. All this comes with free Wi-Fi, a sea of board games, books and game consoles.

Themed parties, master classes, concerts and even screenings of new films are also held here. If you want to spend an unforgettable evening, you should definitely visit this anti-cafe. After all, New York Coffee is a place where you want to return.

Coffee shop GONZO

  • Address: Verkhnetorgovaya Square, 4.

The 12th floor of Verkhnetorgovaya Residence is very popular among the people. No wonder, because the GONZO coffee shop is located here - an establishment with character. It certainly will not leave any visitor indifferent.

The atmosphere reigning here makes you think of the classics and the late 90s. Loft-style interiors, baristas who know everything about coffee and its roasting, walls on which, among many inscriptions, you can find quotes from Tarantino’s cult films.

And, of course, a lot of tasty, and most importantly high-quality, coffee with unusual recipes and names. For example, such as creamy coffee or coffee lemonade. A stunning bird's eye view is included.

Wine bar Wine and cheese

  • Address: st. Chernyshevsky, 88.

The only wine bar in Ufa positions itself as an establishment with very proper cuisine. It’s not surprising, since the basis of the menu here is seafood. But don’t assume that this restaurant only serves charcoal dorado and shrimp.

Meat and poultry are also present, and in large variations. And a wide variety of cheeses from exotic to local. The wine list will also satisfy the taste of the most demanding client.

Reviews from visitors especially note the cozy atmosphere and attentiveness of the waiters. But the gastro dinners deserved the highest praise. These are events where you can learn a lot of interesting things about rare wines and taste them, as well as try a dish created by the restaurant chef specifically for this type of wine.

Cafe-bar Oguretz

  • Address: Oktyabrya Avenue, 4, bldg. 1, shopping center "Mir", 4th level.

Does your significant other adhere to the principles of healthy eating and refuse invitations to burger joints and restaurants? Surprise her by inviting her to the Cucumber cafe-bar. Here you can be a gourmet without denying yourself anything, because everything, even meat, is served fresh or steamed or grilled.

The PP cocktail constructor is one of the most interesting features of the cafe. Moreover, the combinations can be both traditional and original, invented by the visitors themselves. No one will even raise an eyebrow at any wild combination of vegetables and fruits, and a strange recipe has every chance of ending up on the permanent menu.

In addition, here you can try many varieties of honey, types of seeds and nuts, and delicatessen dishes, prepared in a gentle manner, guarantee gastronomic pleasure to the most demanding customers.

The wine list will delight you not only with a variety of drinks from around the globe, but also with a booklet with information about it, included with each bottle. Bonus: pleasant, enveloping softness, atmosphere, light music and a good view from the window.

Bar Cuba Havana

  • Address: st. Lenina, 65/4.

This establishment is one of the most atmospheric in Ufa. Latin American passions burn here, bachata and salsa are danced, and the menu includes only Cuban and Caribbean cuisine. And, of course, tequila is the favorite drink of Hemingway and Papa Che. In general, those who like to have more fun should definitely go to Havana, Cuba.

McHighlander Restaurant

  • Address: st. Karl Marx, 24/1.

It is unlikely that a modern girl will dare to try real Scottish haggis prepared according to ancient recipes - the calling card of this restaurant. But she will undoubtedly like the atmosphere of a medieval castle of harsh highlanders. Where else can you hear the hysterical sounds of bagpipes and see waiters in kilts?

Crossing the threshold of this establishment, it’s as if you find yourself in another era, where before your eyes the heroes of Celtic ballads come to life, the banshees sing, Finn and Cuchulainn again and again engage in battle with their opponents, and Thomas the Rhymer continues to play his lute.

A nice addition is Scottish cuisine and a variety of craft beers from our own brewery. True, it should be clarified that there is no place for muslin young ladies here. Scottish jokes made by waiters can make even men blush.

Bar "Honey, I'll call you back"

  • Address: Verkhnetorgovaya Square, 1, 1st floor.

This bar is almost the same as the bar counter in your home. So cozy, so at home, welcoming each client with warmth and care. The menu includes many dishes of Pan-Asian, Italian, American, Mexican and Japanese cuisine, as well as soft drinks for every taste.

For lovers of foamy beer, a wide variety of craft beers are offered, and the master sommelier will help you choose the wine that best suits the ordered dish. There is a seasonal menu that changes with the seasons.

This atmospheric bar often hosts parties and sports broadcasts. But even at normal times the place gets crowded, so it’s best to book a table in advance.

Don't miss: Where to go in Ufa with a child

And finally, I can recommend a couple more places. For example, arrange a hot air balloon flight for your loved one or a date in a real fairytale castle, get sensual pleasure from joint spa treatments, or rent a house in the forest where there will be no one but you. The most important thing is that you both are happy and your hearts beat in unison.
