Mount Mare's Head, Kyrman Rocks

The route to one of the interesting mountains of the Sverdlovsk region - Mount Kobylya Golova and the Kyrman Rocks - is ideal as a weekend hike for the whole family.
The mountains are easily accessible to unprepared tourists: the tops of the rocky outcrops of the mountains are easy to climb. The route is designed for all-terrain vehicles, but is also suitable for ordinary passenger cars. In this case, you can leave your car just outside the village of Ayat and walk. From Ayati to the rocks it is about 5 kilometers. The distance from Yekaterinburg to the Kyrman Rocks is about 60 km.

Where to go with children in the Sverdlovsk region?

Nizhnyaya Sinyachikha - museum reserve of wooden architecture

One-day car route to the village of Nizhnyaya Sinyachikha - a museum reserve of wooden architecture.
The village of Nizhnyaya Sinyachikha was founded back in 1680 next to the busy Sovereign Road, which connected the European part of Russia and Siberia. Today in the village there is a museum of wooden architecture, which displays courtyards and peasant estates from the 17th to 19th centuries, as well as interesting “public” buildings: a forge, a fire and watchtower, a mill.

The Museum of Wooden Architecture, located in the Sverdlovsk region, will be of interest to both children and adults interested in the history of their native land.

The route is designed for standard cars, the duration of the route is one day. The distance from Yekaterinburg is about 160 km.

Architecture of the Sverdlovsk region

The Sverdlovsk region has a surprising number of extraordinary architectural objects. Many of them, of course, are located in the capital of the region - Yekaterinburg. In this ancient city I would especially like to highlight 2 architectural attractions .

The first of them is the Sevastyanov House , located on the banks of the river. Iset at Lenin Ave., 35. This is an indescribably beautiful building, “born” in the 19th century. It is very elegant and festive, richly decorated both outside and inside, and decorated with beautiful stucco molding.
Another building that we would like to especially note is the Rastorguev-Kharitonov Estate , the creation of which dates back to the 18th – 19th centuries. The territory of the estate is very vast. The building itself is made in a classical style, but due to its asymmetry, it looks quite unusual. The estate is surrounded by a beautiful park with many ancient and rare plants; there is also an artificial lake with an elegant rotunda.

In the town of Nevyansk there is a unique Nevyansk Tower . Thanks to its inclined shape, it resembles the famous Leaning Tower of Pisa.
In Verkhoturye there is the Verkhoturye Kremlin , the first buildings of which appeared back in 1598.
In addition to the “Kremlin,” Verkhoturye is home to many beautiful ancient temples and churches, for which it was nicknamed the “Ural Jerusalem . Here you can see such unique buildings as the Spaso-Nicholas Monastery , Holy Cross Cathedral , Trinity Cathedral and many others.

Speaking about the architecture of the Sverdlovsk region, undoubtedly, one cannot ignore the most mysterious object - Ganina Yama . Initially it was a gold mine, but since the idea of extracting valuable ore was unsuccessful, it was soon closed. Ganina Yama gained its sad fame thanks to the burial of the remains of the royal family here in 1918, after which this place is considered holy.

The place is interesting, actively visited by both hikers and tourists traveling on ATVs, snowmobiles and cars; the paths are well-trodden at any time of the year. The road is a grader (in winter, as a rule, it is knurled, but not cleared), the distance from Yekaterinburg is about 35 km.

With all-terrain vehicles you can climb to the foot of the cliffs, but the upper part of the climb is quite steep and, especially in the rainy season or during heavy snowfall, travel is difficult. In this case, cars can be left at the turn to the rocks and walked, a distance of approx. 700 - 800 meters.

The Middle and Southern Urals are not only numerous natural monuments, but also large cities with a busy rhythm of life. Among them are the beautiful Butterfly Park, Kharitonovsky Garden, the Literary Quarter and the Path of Love, and the Red Line tourist route. The city is home to a large number of valuable architectural monuments, such as the Sevastyanov House and the Borchaninov-Pervushin Mill. There is also a memorial sign-obelisk “Europe-Asia”. Tyumen offers its guests a large selection of excursions and entertainment. One of the favorite vacation spots of the townspeople is the pretty Siberian Cats Square. While spending a day in Tyumen, it is also worth visiting the Alexander Landscape Park, Tsvetnoy Boulevard, and the Bridge of Lovers. Among the most beautiful architectural monuments are the Regional Philharmonic, the building of the Commercial School and the museum-estate of the Kolokolnikov merchants, the Temple of the Savior, the Ushakov House, the Popova House, and Gostiny Dvor.

Waterfall on the Shata River

A weekend route to a waterfall on the Shata River - one of the interesting and few waterfalls in the Sverdlovsk region.
The total height of the rapids of the Shata waterfall is about five meters. The waterfall is located on the small river Shata, flowing through the village of the same name.

In the vicinity of the waterfall there are clearings where you can have a picnic; it is also suitable for families with children.

Mount Iremel

Of course, these are not all the beautiful places that the Middle and Southern Urals can surprise you with. The picturesque Iremel mountain range is famous for being home to the second highest peak of the Southern Urals. During the climb to the top, tourists will experience the change of four altitude zones at once. Each of them is characterized by its own vegetation, from alpine meadows to mountain tundra with dwarf trees. Closer to the top you can find cold deserts. The picturesque point of Iremel is the Sacred Mountain, shrouded in secrets and riddles since ancient times. Today the peak is popular among fans of sports hikes and trekking, as well as numerous esotericists who call the Sacred Mountain on Iremel a place of power.

Of no less interest is the natural park of the same name “Iremel”, which is located on the border of Bashkortostan and the Chelyabinsk region. There are many numbered routes throughout the park. This makes it the best place for long hikes and trekking. Hiking along Iremel is a great way to admire the beautiful scenery and recharge your batteries.

Olenyi Ruchi Natural Park

Another picturesque park-reserve is “Oleniy Ruchi” in the Sverdlovsk region (Middle Urals). The picturesque natural park in the valley of the Chusovaya River is loved by many connoisseurs of the beautiful nature of the Middle Urals. This place is known for its numerous rocks, caves, and natural monuments. The park is visited annually by many professional rafters, for whom “route No. 58” is laid here, connecting Yekaterinburg with the city of Chusovaya. In the park you can see endless picturesque forests (coniferous and deciduous), which are home to more than 150 species of birds. The park area is one of the valuable natural complexes. Therefore, tourists are prohibited from making fires or setting up tent camps in any places other than specially equipped parking areas. It is also not recommended to leave marked tourist trails and routes, since such carelessness is dangerous for local representatives of rare flora.

Rock complex "Seven Brothers"

The picturesque rock complex “Seven Brothers” is a popular route in the Middle Urals, along which numerous tours, hiking, expeditions and trekking are conducted. The rocks are located on the top of Mount Semibratskaya near the village of Verkh-Neyvinsky (Sverdlovsk region). In addition to them, other picturesque corners in the village are worth seeing - the beautiful Verkh-Neivinsky pond, as well as Lake Tavatuy. You can organize an exciting weekend hike in the surrounding area.

Lake Aslykul

The largest lake in the Republic of Bashkortostan is Aslykul. Mentions of him are found in Bashkir folk tales, songs and other works of folk epic. The visiting card of this place is its picturesque shores, beautiful steep cliffs and cliffs. There is a fee for entry and installation of tent camps, since both the waterfall and Lake Aslykul are located in the territory of a state-protected natural park.

Smolinskaya cave and Revun threshold

In the Kamensky district of the Sverdlovsk region, you can find two iconic points at once - the Smolinskaya cave, as well as the Revun threshold (the only one in the Middle Urals). Mount Konzhakovsky Stone, located in the southern part of the Northern Urals, on the territory of the Sverdlovsk region, is one of the highest and most interesting peaks of the Ural range.

Kirovgrad is the leader in the ranking of the smallest in area

However, the deposits were quickly depleted, and by 1941 the plant was mothballed. Before this, in 1932, the settlement received city status, and three years later received a new name: in honor of the famous revolutionary Sergei Kirov, the town was renamed Kirovgrad.

Nevyansk - bears the title of the first factory city in history

In second position in the ranking of small towns is Nevyansk, whose area is 17 km². It owes its appearance to Peter the Great, who in 1701 ordered the construction of an iron and iron smelting plant in the Urals. Due to the fact that the settlement began to form around the built enterprise, Nevyansk can be called the first factory city in world history. Also, its development is connected with another famous person: businessman Nikita Demidovich Antufiev. The emperor taught him a lesson in managing the new plant, not suspecting that soon the enterprising Nikita would achieve unprecedented heights, becoming the founder of the Demidov family.

The current city limits were recorded in 2006, when the population was 25,600. In Nevyansk and the neighboring town of Cementnoye there are five large factories operating in the following areas:

mechanical engineering;
pipe processing;
cement production;
production of dry mixtures.

In addition, the small town is considered a cultural center of Old Believer icon painting of the mining type. The most famous landmark is the Ural Leaning Tower of Nevyansk, built in 1721 as a family building of the Demidovs, marking their receipt of the title of nobility. Scientists are still debating whether something went wrong during construction, or as a result of subsequent flooding of the basements, but the tower tilted 3° 16′ at its greatest point. The structure is a symbol of the city and was even minted on a commemorative coin of the Central Bank in 2007.
