Monument to the hubs - creators of aviation technology

The fact that the city of Stupino was formed thanks to the aircraft plant is reflected already at the entrance to the city. Guests are greeted by a symbolic monument, which is a model of a MIG-23 fighter mounted on a large white pedestal. Its nose is aimed at the clouds, which gives the impression that in the next second the plane will fly skyward.

The city of Stupino was founded in 1938.

Each city has its own coat of arms - the main symbol. The coat of arms reflects the historical, cultural and natural features of the area in the language of symbols and allegories. What is depicted on the coat of arms of Stupino?

Falcon is a symbol of courage, intelligence, beauty, and aspiration for the future. The golden emblems depicted below it: two crossed propellers inscribed in rhombuses - symbolize aviation and the involvement of Stupino land in aircraft construction.

The four-pointed star shape (rhombus) was chosen as an ancient symbol of guidance and confidence in the right choice of path.

At the bottom there is a winding silver ribbon - a symbol of the Oka River.

The green tip of the coat of arms indicates the natural diversity of the area and the development of agriculture. Green color is a symbol of nature, health, and growth in life. Silver is a symbol of purity, perfection, peace and mutual understanding. Gold is a symbol of wealth, stability, intelligence and respect. Blue color is a symbol of honor, nobility, spirituality.

The Stupino flag has the same image as the coat of arms.

There are many symbolic memorial places in our city.

AIRPLANE MONUMENT

The city of Stupino, as a geographical object, appeared in 1938. thanks to the construction of an aircraft factory on its territory. In honor of the first city-forming enterprise in 1985. The monument to the founders of aviation technology was inaugurated. The monument is dedicated to the first builders of the Stupino aviation plant and the designers of Soviet military aircraft.

The MIG-23 multi-role fighter was taken as a symbol of the domestic aircraft industry. It is mounted on a white pedestal and depicts the moment of take-off. In front of the monument there is a stele with the name of the city, the coat of arms of Stupino and the date of its foundation. The whole composition is connected together by color, semantic and graphic design. The stele was designed by the architect A.S. Kirillov.

MONUMENT TO THE CREATORS OF HELICOPTER PROPELLERS

Stupino is rightfully considered the place with the largest number of unusual monuments. One of them is a spectacular monument consisting of 2 columns with a huge blue propeller fixed between them.

MONUMENT TO HELICOPTER BLADES

During the Soviet years, Stupino had the status of a “closed city”. Aviation turbochargers, helicopter blades and other aviation accessories for the military needs of the USSR were developed and produced here. The Stupino enterprise was a leader in the production of helicopter mechanisms, in particular blades.

As a sign of respect to the designers, developers, builders, engineers and ordinary workers of the aircraft industry, a monument to helicopter blades was erected on the outskirts of the city.

The art object represents a vertically standing pillar with a block of helicopter blades mounted on it. The sculpture attracts attention with its volume, brightness and unusualness.

MONUMENTS TO METALLURGISTS

Several monuments have been erected in Stupino in honor of the city's metallurgists.

THE MONUMENT TO THE FORGE'S HAMMER was erected in 1960, when the top layer of the shell of the 1st artificial Earth satellite was forged at a local metallurgical plant.

MONUMENT TO METALLURGISTS-ROLLERS was opened in 1999. This steel structure with a model of the globe installed on it once again reminds of the contribution of Stupino metallurgists to the development of the Russian space industry.

THE MONUMENT TO THE WORKERS OF THE STUPINSKY METALLURGICAL PLANT looks like a simple gray blank in the form of a tick rotated ninety degrees. At the top of the monument there are three decorative elements in which lamps are placed for illumination, which makes them look like sconces.

At the bottom of the monument is the abbreviation SMK - Stupinsky Metallurgical Plant. Below the abbreviation is a memorial plaque. The monument is located on a small granite pedestal.

The monument was erected in front of the entrance of the Stupino Metallurgical Plant in 1998, the year of Stupino’s sixtieth anniversary.

"STUPINSKAYA METALLURGICAL COMPANY" is one of the unique, dynamically developing metallurgical enterprises that preserve the glorious traditions of domestic metallurgy, one of the firstborn of aviation metallurgy, founded in November 1940.

Immediately after the Nazi attack on the USSR, already at the end of June 1941, the Stupino Metallurgical Plant (plant No. 150) received the task of urgently producing 200 lifting and rotating installations for machine guns in order to use them as an air defense weapon.

During the war years, the Stupino Metallurgical Plant No. 150 produced about 30 thousand propellers for fighters, attack aircraft and bombers.

The forge shop produced non-ferrous and steel forgings and stampings for military aircraft.

The rolling shop produced aluminum sheets for aircraft skins. Of the total volume of rolled aluminum for aircraft skins produced in the country, 70% came from Stupino Aircraft Plant No. 150.

Flat and round ingots from aluminum and its alloys were cast in the foundry. In 1941, workshop No. 48, commissioned by the military, produced “hedgehogs” and “gouges”, which were used to build barrier lines against enemy tank and motorized strike forces.

During the Great Patriotic War, 126 trains with products left the SMK workshops for the front.

In the fall of 1945, the plant was awarded the Order of Lenin.

During the Great Patriotic War, 15,000 people, more than half of the population of the Stupits, took part in the battles for their homeland, 14,000 were awarded orders and medals. 12,000 of our fellow countrymen did not return from the war.

In the city center, at the intersection of st. Timiryazev and Ave. Victory there is a MONUMENT TO THE STEPS - WORKERS OF SMK (150th plant) who fought at the front.

Now Stupino is a small, but very beautiful, cozy, modern city.

Monument to the creators of propellers

In general, throughout the city there are monuments related to aviation. Monument to Helicopter Blades

Another bright and creative representative of the Stupino aviation monuments is the monument to helicopter blades. This is one of the significant symbols of the city, since the local machine-building enterprise that produces these same blades is one of the leaders in Russia in this field.

Location: intersection of Pristantsionnaya and Andropov streets.

Memorial to the pilots of the 445th Air Defense Fighter Aviation Regiment

There is another aviation monument in Stupino, but it has a completely different and very sad history. In 1978, a plane crashed near the city. As a result, five crew members, who were pilots of the 445th Air Defense Fighter Regiment, were killed. This regiment defended the city during the Great Patriotic War. The monument looks like a white stele with a carved silhouette of a falling plane.

Location: 1st Street, directly opposite buildings 16 and 17.

General information about the city

A small town located in the Moscow region - Stupino, the majority of whose attractions are dedicated to aviation, is a large industrial center. The city is home to a large number of factories working for the country's military-industrial complex. There are also foreign companies here.

Stupino is constantly developing, but echoes of that Soviet era, when the city was still closed, remain. Everything seems clean and in order, but there is no proper service.

The city has interesting historical facts. For example, in 1931, an order was given to build an electric locomotive plant, which was to be located five kilometers from Stupino. This played a significant role in the life of the future city. Three years later, the village of Stupino turns into a village called “Electrovoz”.

Four years later, the village disappeared because construction of the plant was stopped. However, the local workers, as well as the engineers, did not like this, and they reached out to Stalin. After which it was decided to complete the construction of the plant, but now it specialized in the production of training aircraft, propellers and turbochargers. In 1938, the village acquired the status of a city and returned to its former name - Stupino.

One of them is a monument to Polyakov himself; there is also a memorial in honor of the soldiers who died during the Second World War; by the way, the Eternal Flame burns near it. ▶︎ A fun Instagram about the nooks and crannies of Minsk, Belarus and the whole world!
◀︎ There are 74 cities in the Moscow region and someday I will see them all (whoever can help get to Krasnoznamensk will receive the pennant of a leader in blogging). I understand perfectly well that such adventure games are of interest to a very small circle of readers, so I release them when there are already few readers on the blog. Today, in the lens of Redmi Note 10 Pro, the industrial center of Stupino, which arose in the interwar period around a metallurgical plant, is now, as it calls itself, the leading Russian manufacturer of components for critical industries. Here, in Stupino, in particular, the shell of the first space satellite of the USSR was cast, and now parts for the aviation industry are pouring in. At the same time, a considerable number of townspeople continue to live in old temporary barracks left over from the time of development of the settlement. It looks creepy.
