Official symbols
The coat of arms of the municipal formation “Vsevolozhsk District of the Leningrad Region” is a conventional heraldic shield, divided into red (in the language of heraldry - scarlet) and blue-blue (in the language of heraldry - azure) parts, and bearing symbolic images of a boat under sail and a torn ring.
A boat, a vessel, is a traditional symbol of municipal self-government, denoting a close-knit local community sailing independently on the “waves of life.” At the same time, the boat points to the ancient Ladoga waterway and recalls the centuries-old history of settlements in the territory that now belongs to the region. The rook is turned to the left of the viewer, which in armorial studies corresponds to forward movement.
The torn ring (traditionally depicted as an arc, a half ring) symbolizes the heroic breakthrough of the siege of Leningrad.
The general color scheme of the coat of arms of the municipal formation “Vsevolozhsk District of the Leningrad Region” corresponds to the colors of the coat of arms of the Leningrad Region.
The two-color field of the coat of arms designates: the land and lake waters of the territory on which the battles of the Great Patriotic War took place (red color), and the territories on which the enemy never set foot (blue color), two historical principalities - Karelian (the field of its coat of arms - red) and Izhorskoe (the field of its coat of arms is blue-blue), “met” on the Vsevolozhsk territory, the achievements of the residents of the region in the material (red) and spiritual (blue-blue) spheres, as well as the transition from the past marked by wars and battles ( red color) to a peaceful future (blue color).
The silver (white) color of the ring means a gray history, a glorious past. The golden (yellow) color of the boat is a symbol of vitality and energy.
The most generally accepted meanings in armorial studies for the colors of the coat of arms of the municipal formation “Vsevolozhsk District of the Leningrad Region” are gold - abundance, light, greatness; silver - light, purity (purification); scarlet - strength, passion, heroically shed blood; azure - peace, love.
Apartments in houses under construction in Vsevolozhsk district on the map
In the modern world, large metropolitan areas are not just cities, but agglomerations, constantly expanding and absorbing neighboring towns and villages into their area. This is what happens with the cities of the Leningrad region. For example, Vsevolozhsk, located seven kilometers from St. Petersburg, has practically become a district of the northern capital. The Vsevolozhsk district of the Leningrad region is characterized by pendulum migration: simply put, many local residents work in St. Petersburg, and vice versa, some St. Petersburg residents go to work at the actively developing industrial enterprises of Vsevolozhsk.
Is it any wonder that new houses under construction in the Vsevolozhsk region are growing like mushrooms? The district is one of the leaders in the region in terms of the pace of new housing commissioning. Vsevolozhsk is a comfortable, modern city, practically no different from the districts of St. Petersburg (and, as is to be expected, one day it will become part of the northern capital). This is a promising place to invest in your own home. Ultra-modern high-rise buildings, low-rise residential complexes, and private cottages are being built here. New buildings of economy, comfort and business class are offered, there are also luxury apartments. Social infrastructure is actively developing, new shopping, entertainment and business centers are being built.
Excellent transport links with St. Petersburg are an important plus for new buildings in the Vsevolozhsk district of the Leningrad region. Given the enormous size of cities such as St. Petersburg, when purchasing a home, proximity to road junctions (for owners of personal transport) and public transport stops is becoming increasingly important. Therefore, an apartment near a transport stop in the suburbs will cost more than the same apartment in St. Petersburg, but with an inconvenient location!
Having bought an apartment in new buildings in Vsevolozhsk, residents will feel almost like residents of St. Petersburg. Having taken a minibus to the station. From the Ladozhskaya metro station, you can easily get to any point in the “big city.” There is no difference with St. Petersburg residents who travel to the metro by bus or tram!
If you have your own car, then there are no questions at all: St. Petersburg is only seven kilometers away. Vsevolozhsk is located at the crossroads of the regional highway A128.
So, by choosing a new building in the Vsevolozhsk district of the Leningrad region, you will be able to work and study both in Vsevolozhsk itself (a fairly large city with a population of 60 thousand people) and in St. Petersburg. By the way, an interesting trend has now emerged: apartments in the Vsevolozhsk district are being bought by those who work at one of the district’s enterprises. After all, the industry of Vsevolozhsk is actively developing, the number of jobs is constantly increasing. According to statistics, this area has the lowest unemployment in the Leningrad region!
But, perhaps, it’s enough to compare this Vsevolozhsk district with the regions of St. Petersburg from the point of view of “no worse”. There is something here that is undoubtedly better! The city of Vsevolozhsk and its region also have their undoubted advantages: excellent ecology, a calm and friendly atmosphere of a small town. As a rule, such towns, part of a large agglomeration, become elite suburban areas in the USA and Europe. This cannot yet be said in full about the new building in Vsevolozhsk, but there are prospects.
Of course, Vsevolozhsk is no longer the dacha village that it was for St. Petersburg residents in the 19th century. But it retained an atmosphere of comfort and tranquility. It’s a good place to escape the noise of a huge city, while at the same time giving yourself the opportunity to quickly access all the benefits of the agglomeration center. And one more important fact: despite the actively developing industry, the houses under construction in the Vsevolozhsk region are in a favorable environmental situation - after all, 60% of the region is occupied by wonderful coniferous forests!
Natural resources
The natural resource potential of the region consists of a combination of forest, soil, water and subsoil resources. The main part of the forest park zone of St. Petersburg is located in the Vsevolozhsky district. Forests and tracts of trees and shrubs occupy about eighty-seven percent of the total area of the region. The forests of the Vsevolozhsk region belong to group I of forests, where industrial continuous timber harvesting is prohibited, since the region belongs to the environmental zone around the city of St. Petersburg. The protection and restoration of forests is carried out by park forestry enterprises located in the region.
Environmental problems have been successfully solved for several years. Thanks to Lake Ladoga, the area has one of the best water quality and purity. The population receives twenty percent of its water from natural wells.
Soil resources are quite poor: podzolic and sandy soils predominate; in the lowlands, mostly peat-podzolic-clayey and peat soils, which is a limitation in the development of crop production.
Sand, peat, and clay are mined in the region. No other mineral deposits were discovered.
There are a large number of small rivers and lakes in the area. Among them, Lembolovskoye and Heppo-Yarvi stand out, among the rivers are Avloga (length 54 km), Okhta (90 km). Large water arteries include the Neva River, with which the region borders on the south, and Lake Ladoga, whose waters wash the region on the east.
Attractions
Vsevolozhsk district is one of the most promising subregions of the Leningrad region. Its uniqueness is due to many factors. The favorable geographical location near the Neva, which was one of the links of the great waterway “from the Varangians to the Greeks,” the bridge between East and West, contributed to the prosperity of this land.
Evidence of a glorious past are numerous ancient monuments. The area occupies one of the leading places in the region in terms of their number and historical significance.
In total, on the territory of the Vsevolozhsk region there are more than 150 monuments of history, architecture and art and 57 mass graves.
Great personalities left their mark on Vsevolozhsk land: Peter the Great, Alexander Pushkin, Alexander Griboedov, Ivan Pavlov, Alexei Tolstoy.
The center of the cultural life of the capital of Russia was the estates “Priyutino”, “Koltushi”, manors “Ryabovo”, “Vartemyagi”. There are several museums and many protected memorial sites in the area.
Residents of the Vsevolozhsk region made a significant contribution to the defense of Leningrad from the Nazi invaders. The legendary “Road of Life”, a thread that connected Leningrad with the whole country, passed through the area, which was the only one in the region that was not captured by the enemy. It is no coincidence that the center of the Vsevolozhsk emblem depicts the “Broken Ring” monument, installed on the shore of Lake Ladoga.
Many picturesque landscapes and recreational areas with a healing natural climate have become attractive to tens of thousands of city residents - summer residents, gardeners, market gardeners, and simply vacationers. In summer, the population of the area doubles.
In 1927, three districts were approved on the territory of the modern Vsevolozhsk district: Leninsky (district center - the village of Vsevolozhsk), Pargolovsky and Kuyvozovsky (from 1936 - Toksovsky). In 1930, Leninsky and Pargolovsky districts became part of the newly formed Leningradsky Prigorodny district (regional center - Leningrad). In 1936, the Prigorodny district was disbanded, and the Vsevolozhsky (in 1927-1936 - Leninsky) and Pargolovsky districts were restored. In 1939, the Toksovsky district was abolished, its territory was transferred to the Pargolovsky district. Pargolovsky district was disbanded in 1954, its rural territory was included in the Vsevolozhsky district, and the urban settlement of Pargolovo and a number of other villages were transferred to Leningrad. In 1963, the regional center, the city of Vsevolozhsk, was separated from the district and subordinated to the Industrial Regional Executive Committee. Since 1965, Vsevolozhsk became a city of regional subordination. Territory - 2945.4 sq. km. There are 8 urban settlements, 11 rural settlements. The population of the district is 260,478 people. (as of 10/14/10).

Vsevolozhsk district - general information
Vsevolozhsk district was created in 1936. Its administrative center was the village of Vsevolozhsky, which in 1963 was renamed the city of Vsevolozhsk.
On the territory of the Vsevolozhsk region there are 2 cities, 6 urban-type settlements and 145 rural settlements. According to preliminary results of the All-Russian Population Census, Vsevolozhsk District is the most densely populated region, with 262 thousand people living in it. Distance to St. Petersburg – 10 km.
The territory of the Vsevolozhsk region is located in the southeastern part of the Karelian Isthmus between the city of St. Petersburg and Lake Ladoga. Vsevolozhsk district is part of the Leningrad region. From south to north it extends for 82 km, and from east to west for 52 km. The eastern border is the coast of Lake Ladoga. From the north it borders with the Priozersky district, from the north-west with the Vyborg region. From the south, for 44 km, it is limited by the Neva, and from the west by the city limits of St. Petersburg.
The total area of the Vsevolozhsk region is 3 thousand square kilometers.
Vsevolozhsk district is one of the few districts of the Leningrad region where no German soldier set foot during the Great Patriotic War. Speaking about the defense of Leningrad, we must first of all emphasize the special role of the Vsevolozhsk region. The legendary Road of Life runs along it, saving hundreds of thousands of Leningraders from starvation. The breaking of the blockade of Leningrad and its liberation are significant events associated with the Vsevolozhsk land. For services during the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945. for the protection and lifting of the blockade of Leningrad, the Vsevolozhsk region in May 2000 was included in the Chronicle of the Golden Book of St. Petersburg. In ancient times, the famous route “from the Varangians to the Greeks” passed through the territory of the Vsevolozhsk region, which greatly contributed to the prosperity of this region.
The nature of the Vsevolozhsk region is very diverse. It is located between the Gulf of Finland and Lake Ladoga with systems of large lake complexes, most of which are of glacial origin. Among them are Lembolovskoye, Kavgalovskoye, Khepoyarvi, Voloyarvi. The Vsevolozhsk region is rich in deposits of mineral waters, peat, mineral paints, and non-metallic building materials. Lake Ladoga is the largest in Europe. In terms of the richness of flora and fauna, the variety of species of marine fish and animals (there is even a seal), it is compared with another pearl of Russia - Baikal. Closer to Vsevolozhsk there are smaller lakes: Bolshoye, Zhdanovskiye, Rumbolovskoye, Korkinskoye. A whole complex of pure artificial lakes-ponds was formed at the site of quarries near the villages of B. Porogi, Ozerki, im. Sverdlova, Rakhya, Kornevo, Sokoli lakes.
The region's landscape is flat, low and almost flat in the eastern and southern parts and hilly in the west and north-west. Most of its entire territory is covered by forests. Main species: spruce, pine, birch, aspen. The famous Yukkovsky reserve with the lake of the same name is located here. The region is also famous for its water resources: the eastern border is washed by Lake Ladoga, the southern border follows the Neva River, and the Okhta and Avloga rivers flow here. The north of the region is known for its picturesque landscape. Bizarre lakes and unique forest parks create the beauty and uniqueness of the natural landscapes of the area.
A number of large agricultural enterprises are located on the territory of the district - agro, “Vyborzhets”, etc.
The Oktyabrskaya Railway passes through the territory of the Vsevolozhsk District, as well as two federal highways: St. Petersburg - Murmansk and the Scandinavia highway.
