The influence of the sea on the climate of Gelendzhik

Thousands of tourists strive to get to this paradise with a mild, warm climate. And although there is no direct Moscow-Gelendzhik train, it’s easy to find out how to get to these places. There are several options; by choosing one of them, for example, through Novorossiysk, you will get to Gelendzhik from anywhere in the country.

Many people are interested in why the weather in these parts is warm and favorable most of the year. All this thanks to the warm Black Sea and the Caucasus Mountains. In the depths of the sea, the water temperature never drops below 7 degrees. In winter, warm water rises from the depths and replaces the cold water that descends. This is how circulation occurs. At the same time, the eastern monsoons that dominate the coast drive away cooled waters from the shores, and instead bring warm waters here with the current from Asia Minor. Thanks to such phenomena, the eastern part of the Black Sea is always 6 degrees warmer than the western part, although they are located at the same latitude. In summer, the opposite occurs: night breezes drive away highly heated waters, which are replaced by cooled lower layers. Therefore, in summer there is no sweltering heat here. The climate is favorable for recreation all year round.

By bus

The upper bus station in Gelendzhik daily receives several direct and transit flights from Anapa, Tuapse, Pyatigorsk, Kislovodsk, Rostov-on-Don, Taganrog and other cities in the southern part of Russia. You can get by bus to Krasnodar or Novorossiysk, where you can choose transport for the next leg of the journey. A ticket from Novorossiysk will not cost more than 200 RUB; you will have to pay a little more for a seat on a bus from Krasnodar; the journey will take about 4 hours. From Sochi you can get there with a change in Tuapse or by direct transit bus to Yalta. The journey will take from 7 hours. There are options for bus travel from Moscow, but buses run only in summer, travel time is 25 hours, and the price is comparable to a flight to Krasnodar.

By car

Traveling by car is suitable for residents of nearby cities and regions. It’s a long drive from Moscow - along the Don highway, even without taking into account traffic jams, forced stops and numerous traffic police posts, navigators give at least 18 hours of travel. From Krasnodar to Gelendzhik it takes 3-4 hours.

In Krasnodar, you can leave the M4 highway onto the A146 highway, going through Abinsk and Krymsk, then at Verkhnebakansky turn onto Novorossiysk. This will help avoid difficult serpentines on the section to Dzhubga.

Alternative options

Naturally, there are other options other than getting to Gelendzhik by train. So, you can choose an airplane, for example. In principle, this is much more convenient, because the flight will only take a couple of hours. But keep in mind that this option will cost two to three times more. Naturally, the cost of air travel will depend on the season and the location you choose. This option is also convenient because it will allow you to be right in the resort town itself, since the airport is located there.

There is another option - to go by car or bus. However, if you take into account the fact that you have to travel about one and a half thousand kilometers (about 18 hours), and all this in a sitting position, then it doesn’t turn out to be very tempting. The bus option will cost slightly less than the train - 1000-500 rubles. If we talk about a car, then a trip on it has an economic benefit only if it is full. Before such a trip, one must take into account the state of health, and older people should also take into account that it can be very difficult to bear such a load.
