Thin Cape is a resort area of Gelendzhik, located on the coast in the northern part of the bay. Most of the beaches in this area are quite wild and not very well-maintained, but have convenient access to sea water. Holidays on Thin Cape are, as a rule, chosen by lovers of a relaxing holiday who want to escape the bustle of the resort center.
Despite the overwhelming majority of “wild” beaches, on Tonky Cape there are also several new comfortable beach areas that attract tourists with their developed infrastructure. For example, the pebble beach “Breeze”, popular and well-equipped.
Embankment of the Tonky Mys microdistrict
As such, the promenade of the residential sector named in the title (with a balustrade, lanterns and a tiled sidewalk) is found only at the Blue Wave and Zolotaya Bukhta sanatoriums. It was laid (on a smaller scale) and to the west – to the “Scarlet Sails”.
The designated nickel is considered the most prestigious on the mini-peninsula, to which the article is dedicated. Most of the luxury hotels, famous eateries and restaurants are concentrated here. There are nightclubs, rentals of bicycles and children's electric vehicles, shopping malls and souvenir shops, two sanatoriums and a large water park "Golden Bay" have been built. The Thin Cape embankment is one and a half kilometers long. At its north-eastern end there is a modern elongated pontoon.
Bright subtropical trees and flowers are planted along the seaside street, and there are trash cans. More often the location is associated with the only non-pebble beach in Gelendzhik - “Sandy Bottom”. Despite the “stone sand”, the water manages to remain very transparent. The only negative is that it is not suitable for children. Deep enough. And in some areas this very “rocky sand” simply does not exist - the sea caresses the sidewalk.
Are you intrigued by the features of this resort area? Get off at the Winzavod stop and move along Vinogradnaya and Parkovaya streets until you stop. Just along that part of the embankment where the street leads out. Parkovaya, there are “soft” pontoons.
What to see in the area
A trip to Thin Cape is not limited to the beach. There are many sights in Gelendzhik that are undoubtedly worth a look. For example, the central part of the city embankment is decorated with the “White Bride” monument, which has long become a symbol of a happy marriage among residents. And on the embankment of Tolstoy Cape there is a monument to the deceased crew of the seiner Toporok.
If you are traveling by car, then you can devote a couple of days to visiting Crimean attractions. For example, go to Cape Kazantip and see Honey Falls. Take a walk in the park of the Livadia Palace and, of course, climb Mount Ai-Petri.
The city has three water parks for lovers of water slides and pools. And the Golden Bay water park is recognized as the largest in Russia. But the main water attraction of the city is the “Gidroaviasalon”. This is a large exhibition and venue for conferences aimed at demonstrating the capabilities of water and ship aviation. The Hydroaviation Show is held every two years at the end of September. This is a large-scale event with demonstration performances by the Swifts and Russian Knights aerobatic teams. This scale is definitely something to be proud of.
Thin Cape
But that's not all. In Gelendzhik you can visit public gardens and parks, see monuments, enjoy relaxing in a pine forest and juniper grove, and visit the waterfalls of the Zhane River. It is also worth visiting the Museum of Local History, where you can learn much more about the history and culture of the region.
Russia is rich in amazing places and natural wonders that are worth seeing at least once. One of these amazing places is Thin Cape . This unique atmosphere leaves only positive emotions, and a trip to these places is accessible to any tourist and will not break the bank. Be sure to plan a visit to Gelendzhik and appreciate the beauty of these places.
Torik Beach
According to the development plan, this is the first (from the Blue Bay) adequately equipped piece of the peninsular coast. It is an infrastructural continuation of the elongated residential complex “Torik” (its new high-rise buildings are the brand of the named cape).

True, the improvement was never completed, creating the feeling of some kind of long-term construction. We are talking about a sea edge about two kilometers long. It is quite narrow - 7-10 m, abutting the unfinished embankment. The surface is large pebbles and cobblestones, from which the locals “sculpted” homemade breakwaters.
By the way, the water here is clear. The entrance to it is at an average slope. The last “business card” of the harbor is the convenient access to the street. Airborne. This urban artery is home to several guest apartments and hotel houses.
Breeze Beach
Yes, Gelendzhik is rich in the Riviera. The beaches of Thin Cape are also double. These are the swimming locations “Breeze-1” and “Breeze-2”. They are separated from “Torik” by a wild lagoon 200 m long. “Breeze” itself is one kilometer of coastline, “broken” by bays formed after the construction of various breakwaters.
The beach surface is considered to be a large pebble strip with a width of 30 to 50 m. The water continues to remain clean, there is also little garbage, because guests rarely appear here. The entrance to the sea is at an average, and in some places even a large angle. There are pointed stones. The infrastructure of the relatively new beach is:
- paved exits to the residential sector of the same name;
- Hotel "Ekaterina";
- restaurant "Fisherman's Hut";
- several tent awnings;
- rental of sun loungers and sun umbrellas;
- a short section of embankment embankment with staircases;
- bank protection perimeter (ladders are thrown across it);
- seasonal cafe;
- a pair of concrete pontoons.
Between "Breeze" and the "Thin Cape" complex
We are talking about the only fragment of the local seaside that can be called wild, not counting the savage, or nudist, beach towards the Blue Bay. It starts behind the last house of the Breeze residential complex, and ends with the fence of the said residential complex. This refers to the easternmost protrusion of the cape - a line that bends several times with a distance of only 250 m and a width of 7-12 m.
Here is Desantnaya Street. goes to the Embankment (stop “Thin Cape”, Hotel “Bombay”, various long-term construction projects). On the one hand, the grass and broken stones falling straight into the water do little to contribute to the popularity of the patch, but on the other hand, there are strategic streets Desantnaya, Naberezhnaya, and entrances to several popular sanatoriums.
Consequently, this place doesn’t like to be empty, especially since the water here is the perfect color, and nearby there is a huge cluster of supermarkets and guest houses. And even more of them are being built here! All this disgrace, often used by visiting and local aborigines, lasts until the buildings of the “Thin Cape”.
Coast of the medical and health complex “Solnechnaya”
One of the most beautiful and cozy Gelendzhik beaches. A snow-white colonnade supporting an observation deck was built right on the territory.
The beach is two-tiered: those who love open sun sunbathe on the upper tier, those who prefer shade are located on the lower. The shore is small pebbles, but you can go down to the sea via comfortable concrete stairs.
There is rental of resort and marine equipment. There are volleyball and football courts, water attractions .
There is a café, a pancake shop and kiosks with resort goods on the beach. Nearby is a children's park with attractions, planted with Pitsunda pine trees.
To get to the beach of the Solnechnaya health resort, you need to take buses No. 3,5,7,13 to the gas station stop.
Beach of the boarding house "Thin Cape"
The well-equipped “pebble-sand” bathing area was closed from the direction of the main sea area by a breakwater, which allowed resort guests to swim comfortably and safely during a storm. And the depth, by the way, is growing here slowly. Thanks to the boarding house, sheds and changing rooms appeared at this point.
The final stop of bus route No. 5 is nearby. Come by car too. There are parking lots here too. You can go from the dead end street. Postal. Tonky Cape beach is 400 m. In some places it goes 70 m deep. And you can spend the night in a boarding house (about which they write “there are no amenities”), “At Marina’s” or in the luxurious residential complex “Zdorovye”.
At your service are small seaside cafes for romantic meetings, located in the premises of former boathouses, awnings, as well as a wide asphalt piece of the seaside - with a balustrade, lanterns, a descent onto pebbles and a turning pontoon stretched over 160 m.
Extreme points of the embankment
If you look at the embankment from the top of the mountains that surround Gelendzhik, its shape will immediately seem familiar to you, and you will say with a smile: “Horseshoe.” Since the embankment encircles the city’s bay, its shape is indeed very similar to a horseshoe. What am I saying, look at the photo for yourself:
It is clearly visible that the embankment runs from Tolstoy Cape (on the left in the photo) to Tonkiy (respectively, on the right). Let me tell you about each cape in more detail.
Thick Cape
On Tolstoy Cape, the embankment ends where the so-called wild beach begins, the descent to which can be difficult, since it is, consider it, bare rocks. Locals call this place “Krucha”. Accordingly, there are few people on this beach. Firstly, you can’t really go down with children, and secondly, it’s not sand, but rocks with pine trees and a rocky sea, and the nearest entertainment cafes are a good distance away.
I came here for peace, the open sea, incredible air filled with the scent of pine, and stunning views. After all, here, on Tolstoy Cape, there is a real lighthouse!
To get to him, I had to go through the Polar Star boarding house. Then there is a descent to the sea along a vertical metal staircase (keep in mind that this is a rather dangerous section of the path, and I categorically do not advise elderly people, as well as parents with small children, to go there). Once on “Krucha” I got an amazingly colorful landscape of the mountains framing the city! If you crave cool photos from Gelendzhik, then you will definitely like it here, as much as I did.
Thin Cape
On Thin Cape the embankment goes quite far. A walk from the center to the end point of the embankment will take you no less than 40 minutes. As I walked towards Thin Cape, I noticed that the beaches were changing from sandy (along the central embankment) to small round pebbles.
In this direction, most of the beaches along the Gelendzhik embankment belong to sanatoriums located right there. There is a 50/50 chance of getting down to these beaches. Security is not always vigilant in checking where people come from: from the sanatorium or from outside. I would recommend Tonkiy Mys itself to people who value a quiet family vacation. There are no noisy discos, a lot of entertainment, and not so many people. The water is much cleaner than in the center of Gelendzhik. You can swim both in the bay and in the open sea.
Beaches on the map of Tonky Cape
Arriving in Gelendzhik, the Soviet tourist was the first to look at the beaches of Tonky Cape. They were already visible in the window - during the landing approach. Reviews recognize swimming recreation as unsuitable for recreation with small children. There are many pitfalls here. But as for adults, there are piers for going into the water (diving, swimming, fishing), and for a fun time there are cafes and nightclubs, extreme entertainment, souvenir shops and much more interesting things. In conclusion, we suggest about the place of the video, enjoy watching.
