Class hour about the city of Podolsk Class hour (3rd grade)

Podolsk is one of the capital's satellite cities. The proximity to the Russian capital left its mark on the development of the settlement. Podolsk specializes in mechanical engineering industries and high-tech production. The city's contribution to the country's industry was awarded the Order of the Red Banner of Labor (1971).

Among the settlements of the capital region, Podolsk stands out for its cultural and tourism potential. The city has all the conditions for good rest and recreation.

Where is Podolsk located?

Administratively, Podolsk has the functions of a city of regional subordination and the center of a municipal district. Previously, it was also the core of the district of the same name, which was abolished in 2015.

Podolsk is located south of the borders of Moscow. Distance:

  • to MKAD – 15 km;
  • to the center of the capital - 36 km.

The main physical and geographical landmark of the city's location is the Pakhra River, which belongs to the Moscow River basin (right tributary). Podolsk occupies a section of territory with an area of 40.39 km², bounded by the right bank of Pakhra and the railway line.

The closest administrative neighbors of the city are the following settlements:

  • Voskresenskoe;
  • Ryazanovskoe.

They belong to the Novomoskovsk district. The southern part of Podolsk is close to the Chekhov district of the capital region.

Moscow Ring Railway. Return of history. KUTUZOVO station

Kutuzovo station got its name because of its proximity to the historical area associated with the events of the Patriotic War of 1812, and in honor of the leader and commander of the Russian army M.I. Kutuzova.

It was here, in the nearby village of Fili (now Fili district of Moscow), that a meeting of the Military Council took place under the leadership of M.I. Kutuzov, at which a strategic, but fatal for old Moscow, decision was made - to leave the city without a fight (the event is known in historiography as the “Council in Fili”).

In 1870, the Moscow-Brest Railway was built through this area, and the new MKR station, like other stations, began to connect Okruzhnaya with the radial railway direction.

Date of photographs: 2016, September 17.

2.
The main purpose of the station was transit support for the movement of freight trains from the Moscow-Bryansk railway. (via connecting branches No. 23 and 24), as well as the Moscow-Brest railway. (branch no. 25).

3.
The station ensemble seems to be a standard project, consisting of a passenger building (the same station on Andronovka), a residential building of type IV (the same was in Kozhukhovo and Vladykino), a building for providing water supply according to the Gantke system, as well as three booths for centralized control of switches and signals .

4. Type IV residential building. 2016
Initially, in 1902, at the time of approval of the Moscow District Railway project, it was planned to locate Telegraph Post No. 6 immediately beyond the Moscow River (moving clockwise). However, this object is no longer visible on the 1908 map.

5.
The IV type residential building is the third built on the Moscow Okruzhnaya railway. and the only one preserved in almost its original form. Due to the fact that archival photographs with a large image of this building have not been preserved, we invite you to compare the current state of the house with the drawing project of 1903. The residential building was built to house all station employees, from the chief to the station guards. This residential building is the largest in area (118 sq.m.) of all 10 project residential buildings.

During the construction of the Third Transport Ring, all adjacent tracks to the station building were dismantled, and the station lost its functional purpose. Currently, it is closely adjacent to the road overpass, and even pedestrian access to the station building is difficult (we made our way, risking our lives, along the railway tracks).

13.
At the moment, the buildings are almost in their original form (surprisingly, even part of the stove heating system has been preserved in the station building, which is characterized by the presence of chimneys on the roof of the building).

In the passenger building (station) there was a station master's office, a telegraph office and a single passenger hall for all classes, due to the fact that there was not a large flow of passengers at this station.

Enterprises and work in Podolsk

Oddly enough, some industrial enterprises in Podolsk survived the changes of the 90s of the last century. Among the largest are OOO, which produces units for the nuclear industry and energy facilities, ZIOSAB - boilers and boiler houses, and Chemical-Metallurgical Plant - semiconductor wafers and devices. In total, about fifty large industrial organizations and about two hundred small ones operate in the city. There are both old enterprises with a century-long history, such as (the former famous Singer), and new ones - Transformer, which produces transformers under license.

Again, on the old base, but with the addition of new technological solutions, various scientific institutions continue to work here. Their main focus is atomic research. Thus, Gidropress develops reactors of various types, and also produces small-scale batches of individual specific units and installations. Gazprom, a structure with the same name as our gas giant, is our design bureau, which designs equipment for the relevant industry, drilling rigs and other mechanisms.

In terms of the number of employees, the largest segment of city enterprises are small businesses of various forms. Of the total working population, at least 40% are involved in this area. Their activities are focused on trade, retail and wholesale, and provision of services to the population. A small part of such enterprises are small construction firms.

In addition to local entrepreneurs, federal chain retailers are also well represented in Podolsk. “Auchan” and “Perekrestok”, “Carousel” and “Pyaterochka”, “Dixie” and “Kvartal”. There are also specialized dealers in equipment (“Eldorado” and “Technosila”, “White Wind”), children’s goods (“Detsky Mir”, “Korablik”), points of sale of cellular operators, perfume chains and others.

Despite the relatively large influx of migration, the provision of jobs in Podolsk is not bad. Considering the proximity of the capital, it can be argued that anyone can always find a way to earn a living and provide for themselves and their loved ones. The higher level of salaries in Moscow determines that many people prefer to look for vacancies there. In particular, and therefore, as mentioned above, during rush hours traffic towards the capital is quite intense.

History of Podolsk

Historical documents record a settlement called Podol in the mid-16th century. Up to 18th century the village belonged to the Danilov Monastery. The settlement developed successfully thanks to the Serpukhov road passing through it.

City status was assigned to the village in 1781 by decree of Catherine II. It was given the name Podol-Pehra and appointed the district center. In the 1st half. 19th century The inner city layout was finally formed. The improvement of Podolsk infrastructure was facilitated by the construction of the Brest-Litovsk highway and the Moscow-Kursk railway line (mid-19th century).

The surge in industrialization of the city occurred in the 50s of the 20th century, when the main industrial enterprises were put into operation.
