Kamensk-Uralsky: history, sights, photos


City of Kamensk-Uralsky located 100 kilometers from Ekaterinburg, in the very south of the Sverdlovsk region. It was here that three centuries ago the first Ural metallurgical plant.

Today
Kamensk-Uralsky is the third largest city in the Sverdlovsk region . It is the largest industrial center of the Middle Urals . The city has a professional drama theater, an exhibition hall, local history and geological museums, branches of the Sverdlovsk Philharmonic and the Musical Comedy Theater, a breeding center for exotic birds and animals, sanatoriums, hotels, entertainment centers, a chain of cinemas, fitness clubs with swimming pools and spa areas.

Monument "Cannon"

The symbol of the city. The monument is located on the high bank of Kamensky Pond . Created in 1967 and installed for the 50th anniversary of the Great October Revolution. The bas-reliefs of the pedestal depict scenes of military battles in which the Kamensk guns .

Museum of Local Lore named after I.Ya. Styazhkina

Architectural monument of federal significance. The museum is located in the building of the former office of the Kamensky State Iron Foundry , built in 1825. The pride of the museum is the artillery collection, collected from samples of products from the Kamensk plant , starting from 1733.

The first Ural dam is Kamenskaya . It was built in 1700. The above-ground part of the dam is made in the style of Soviet classicism.

Kolokolny

Kamensk-Uralsky bears the title of the bell capital of the Urals . For two decades, bells have been cast in the city for churches in Russia, Europe and America. Our plant is the only one in the country where tourists can see the casting technology inside and out, and finally make a wish by ringing the bell.

Architectural monument of regional significance. The building was created according to the design of Mikhail Pavlovich Malakhov , and was rebuilt twice during the Soviet period, so it has lost its former appearance. ROAD

— Another largest completed infrastructure project is the bypass road. Without the Southern Bypass, the city would already be choking in the flow of cars and suffocating from exhaust fumes.

— This is actually a large-scale and life-saving object for Kamensk. Length - 46.5 km, 2 interchanges, 3 overpasses - across the railway and sludge dumps. 2 bridges across the Iset: one, 206 m long, in the Sverdlovsk region, the other, 212 m long, in the Kurgan region. Two lanes. The type of road pavement is permanent, the type of coating is asphalt concrete.

The road took 10 years to build. For federal money. The governor of the Sverdlovsk region, Eduard Rossel, played a huge role. This was his election promise given to the people of Kamensk in 1995. And he kept it. Despite the crises, the most difficult situation in the country. I did everything to push through the solution and to ensure that the process actually went through.

I had to work very closely with Moscow, with the Russian Highway Administration, and with the regional administration. The first peg was in 1998. The ceremonial launch took place in October 2008. The road was introduced in stages. The first is the turn to Tokarevka, and the message has already gone along the bypass road through Brod. The next one is on the Rybnikovsky tract, the third is on Barabanovsky, the fourth is on Chkalovsky.

We used every opportunity to reduce traffic loads on the city without waiting for construction to be completed. There was a real celebration when the final drive-through became available. The bypass closed the Ekaterinburg, Chelyabinsk, Kurgan directions. And Tyumen, by the way, too, everyone started going here.

Design capacity is 10,000 cars per day. Today, approximately the same amount of transport passes, even more. The road is good, it is part of the federal highway Ekaterinburg - Shadrinsk - Kurgan, and is properly maintained. A major renovation will take place this year.

- That's for sure. It removed not only transit transport from the city, but also a significant part of the city, and relieved congestion on the Baynovsky Bridge. Many townspeople use it, almost all of Krasnogorka. Comfortable.

But I would especially like to emphasize the role of the Southern Bypass in improving the environment. This was the most important argument when the project was approved. And this really became a salvation for the city.

Marriages and divorces

The number of marriages is noticeably decreasing when compared with the second quarter of the last century and the number of divorces is increasing. Thus, in 1955 there were 12.4 marriages per 1000 inhabitants, in 1980 – 10.6 marriages, and in 2022 – 6.4 marriages. The percentage of divorces in the same 1955 was 0.9, and in 2022 it is 4.4; out of 6.4 marriages, more than half break up. In 2022, the situation has not improved, the indicators are approximately the same.

If we compare the data on the population of the Sverdlovsk region by year, we can see that since 1959 the number of residents has changed relatively little. So, in the named year, just over 4 million people lived in the region, whereas in 1970 more than 4 million 300 thousand people already lived here. The maximum number of inhabitants was recorded between 1979 and 1994. starting from 1995 the number of people begins to gradually decrease:

  • 1995 – 4678975;
  • 1996 – 4660022;
  • 1997 – 4641304;
  • 1998 – 4625057;
  • 1999 – 4607587;
  • 2000 – 4577515;
  • 2001 – 4545942.

As you can see, Perestroika and the 1990s. did not have a significant impact on the population. The minimum number of residents was recorded in 2011 – 4,297,227 people. The current demographic situation can be compared with 1970, as discussed above, although in terms of the number of newborns, 2022 is still inferior to 1970. In 1970, 14.5 babies were born per 1000 people, and in 2022, slightly more than 13. By comparison, in 1979, almost 17 babies were born. The decreased birth rate is observed against the background of increasing mortality. If in 1970 about 8.4 people died per 1000 thousand people, then in 2022 this figure almost doubled.

Important ! Most people died between 2000 and 2004. In 2003, there were 17.3 deaths per 1000 people with 10.4 newborns.
