Chernushka is a small town with its own history, traditions and beliefs

The city of love and oil is how Chernushka was dubbed. This is the industrial center of the south of the Perm region, where not only production, but also tourism is actively developing.

The city is known for its modern, unusual art objects and rich military history. Travelers will find here beautiful architecture, historical buildings, and beautiful nature.

Story

The city of Chernushka in the Perm region is a small area of 29 square kilometers. The center of the Chernushinsky settlement. Chernushka is separated from Perm by 166 km.

It stands on the banks of the river of the same name, which gave it its name. Its banks are densely overgrown with sedge, and the forest around does not allow light to pass through, which is why the water always seems dark, almost black.

The first mention of the city dates back to 1854. At first there were only 4 yards, but over 10 years their number increased to 35.

It was an ordinary small village until a railway was built in 1913, connecting Kazan and Yekaterinburg. Chernushka received a new role and began to grow rapidly.

The village was important during the Great Patriotic War. An aircraft repair plant and a pilot school were moved here.

After the end of the Second World War, Chernushka was transformed into a workers’ village. Industry was actively developing: enterprises processed agricultural products, produced meat and butter, and supplied all nearby areas with this.

In 1958, large-scale oil production began in the area. Several oil plants were built, and this launched a new round of growth.

The village turned into a city. Five-story and nine-story residential buildings were actively built, infrastructure was developed, and the population of Chernushka grew.

However, with the collapse of the Soviet Union the situation changed. Several oil companies have closed, although the industry as a whole continues to develop in the region.

And if in 2015-2015 the number of residents decreased, now there has been an increase again. At the moment, a little more than 33 thousand people live in Chernushka.
