Yarovoye (Altai Territory): TOP-26 places where to go and what to see

Guest September 03
Many vacationers complain of skin rashes. Their nature remains unclear even after seeking medical help. Sometimes painful blisters appear on the skin. Perhaps this is an individual reaction to salt crystals. The presence of a chemical plant is alarming. Previously, it discharged into the lake; waste was stored near it, which still ends up in the lake when snow melts and rains. In addition, the city itself discharges waste from thermal power plants and sewage into the lake. Analyzes show a significant excess of mercury content in the water. Along the banks, in particular in the Warm Spring area, there are mountains of garbage. It is surprising that no one has yet gone to court against the city administration and the management of hospitals for compensation. Perhaps these cases are simply little known. The city authorities need to take care of cleaning the lake, eliminating waste from existing and former enterprises and isolating wastewater. The nature, climatic conditions and the Bolshoye Yarovoye lake itself are worthy of the name of a resort.

Infrastructure

The city beach is equipped with Pier 22, suitable for recreation for young people. Here you can find bars and open-air cafes, a disco, and art objects. Berth 42 is more aimed at a relaxing family holiday.

In addition, the city has a water park "Lava", which is equipped with a children's and adult area and is connected to the piers.

On the shore you can rent a hydro scooter, a catamaran; and in the evening attend a concert of a Russian pop star.

The vibrant life of the House of Culture captures the entire city when creative groups organize festivals in parks and on the streets. Most often, such events are dedicated to holidays: Maslenitsa, New Year and Victory Day. During festivals, townspeople and tourists not only have fun, but also become familiar with Russian traditions.

The building itself, where the House of Culture is located, deserves great attention. This is a mixed-storey building in the classicism style. The walls are covered with catchy burgundy paint, which sets off the whitewashed decorative elements: half-columns, arches, medallions and frieze. In 1998, this building was recognized as a historical and architectural monument of regional significance. This is the “pearl” of Yarovoy.

Ethnographic Museum of Nomadic Peoples

  • Address: Mira Street.

The unique museum was opened in 2013. The complex consists of national dwellings of different peoples of Asia. Here you can see a Kyrgyz felt yurt, a Siberian tent made from deer skins and a yaranga - a portable Chukchi hut.

A refectory, decorated with a figured pediment, extends from the temple. The composition closes with a front porch with half-columns and colored sandals.

A bell tower rises nearby, which strongly contrasts with the snow-white church. It is a three-tiered brick structure with expressive decorative elements: porticoes, pilasters and friezes. The flat roof is crowned with a cone-shaped spire.

The church area is surrounded by greenery. Spruce and pine trees grow abundantly here, and flower beds bloom. In the shade of the trees stands a small chapel with a massive metal dome, where parishioners light candles.

Road trip

Having listened to a friend, we didn’t plan our trip in detail, didn’t book hotel rooms, and didn’t really think about what exactly we would do there. However, the road trip itself was designed to the smallest detail.

From our house to the intended destination, according to the navigator, there were about one and a half thousand kilometers. Estimated travel time is 15 hours.

At two o'clock in the morning, excited, poorly slept, but full of joy from the upcoming trip, we packed our things into the trunk.

In 15 minutes everything we needed was loaded. It took the same amount of time to comfortably accommodate ourselves and our two Jack Russells. The dogs could not understand why their beloved owners were planning to “load” them into the car in the middle of the night.

So, the key is to start, we sat on the track and set off.

Road travel is not a new type of vacation for our family, so everyone roughly understood (even the dogs) what awaited us in the next 15 hours.

The first three hours, as always, passed cheerfully and vigorously with nothing but enthusiasm. Four hours into the journey, the children fell asleep, the dogs went to the kingdom of Morpheus even earlier, and my husband and I swapped places and I got behind the wheel, letting him sleep a little.

It was already dawn, and the ride became easier, because I was able to poke around a little while my husband was driving. The signs flashed the names of cities across the vast country. Our path lay through the city of Kemerovo, then Novosibirsk, gradually approaching the final point of our vacation.

At 7 am we made our first stop. We had breakfast in nature, the dogs happily kneaded their bones in a roadside field; The children and I enjoyed taking a walk.
