It’s easiest to get to Sochi Park by car; you don’t need to run around and look for a stop, wait for a train, and so on, you just get into the car and drive in the right direction. You won’t believe it, but we still have tourists in Russia who don’t have a navigator; I recommend it to these people to get a route map on maps.yandex.ru . If you don’t have the Internet, then we go to Kurortny Prospekt or Dubler Resort Prospekt, drive along the embankment to Khost, here, without turning anywhere, we drive onto Lenin Street, which also runs along the embankment.

In Adler, Lenin Street smoothly turns into Kaspiyskaya Street, which will lead you to the Olympic Park.

It's just a mess. It’s impossible to find the Sochi bus schedule, it feels like it simply doesn’t exist, and in general there’s complete anarchy in Sochi, the mayor doesn’t care about everything or everyone, the main thing is that the money drips in, and how insignificant people survive he doesn’t care.

Elena, in any city, mayors and officials do not care about ordinary people. Regarding your problem, what routes do you need?

Regarding the bus schedule, bus schedules are posted at all the stops where I was. In addition, there are routes indicating all the stops. As for the N125c bus, its schedule is posted at the bus stop at the bus station.

Valery, thank you for the current prices!)

How to get from Sochi to the Olympic Park and Sochi Park?

The famous domestic resort of Sochi is rich in attractions. There are a huge number of natural monuments, museums, theaters, etc. But tourists are interested not only in buildings with a long history, but also in new buildings.

If you look at the lists of Sochi attractions that experienced tourists and tour operators advise to see, the Olympic Park and Sochi Park appear on all the lists. And this is not an accident. Both objects were built not so long ago, but are already known to every resident of Greater Sochi.

The Olympic Park became famous thanks to the Olympics held in Sochi in 2014. On its territory there are sports facilities, including the Fisht stadium, which hosted the opening and closing ceremonies of the Olympic Games.

Sochi Park is the first theme park in Russia. In 2016, it entered the top 25 best parks in Europe. The huge entertainment center invites vacationers to ride one of the many attractions, watch a colorful show at the dolphinarium, and visit the petting zoo. There are several playgrounds for children, a puppet theater, and interesting events are regularly held here in which kids can take part.

When going to these places, tourists ask a logical question: “How to get from Sochi to Sochi Park and the Olympic Park?” They are located in the Adler region, and you can get to these places by different types of transport.

Trails of the Mountain Olympic Village

On Rosa Plateau there are the lower reaches of easy (green) trails, there is also a moderate difficulty trail (Blue) Rosa Blade and a difficult trail (red) Rosa Star.

There are children's and training slopes.

The Chalet green route runs between the Chalet Rosa Khutor complex and the Alaska restaurant. The slope is quite gentle and wide, so it is preferred by beginners and all those who love leisurely descents. At the bottom of the track, instructors provide training to beginners and children.

The length of the Chalet route is 1160 meters with a height difference of 130 meters.

The Chalet slope begins above the Rose Plateau level, where the green B-52 highway joins the route, starting at 1600 meters above sea level.

The Chalet chairlift runs from the lower reaches of the Chalet track - near the Rosa Ski Inn spa hotel. The length of the Chalet ski lift is 836 meters and its capacity is 1269 people per hour.

The training slope is located in front of the Berloga restaurant (Rosa Shelter building).

This slope is the main training place of the Rosa Khutor resort, where they train from scratch. The good thing about the slope is that in its lower reaches there is a rollout onto the surface, where beginners learn to stand on snowboards and skis, and also practice techniques on the spot.

Near the training track there is a conveyor lift (escalator) called the “Magic Carpet”.

Photo of the upper reaches of the training slope and the Chalet route

A little to the west of the training slope, near the observation deck, there is the lower reaches of the green “Plateau” route , which starts at an elevation of 1350 meters above sea level - from the “Besedka” station (the “Reserved Forest” drag lift). The length of the route is 2055 meters with a height difference of 180 meters.

There is also the blue Rose Blade track , which starts from the Chalet track and ends near the lower reaches of the rodelbahn. When descending from the Rose Blade route, you can turn onto the red Rose Star route , which, like the Rose Blade route, starts from the Chalet route and ends near the lower reaches of the rodelbahn.

The total length of the Rose Blade track is 1,700 meters with a height difference of 220 meters.

The total length of the Rosa Star route is 1075 meters with a height difference of 220 meters.

The Extreme chairlift runs from the lower reaches of the Rosa Blade and Rosa Star trails. The length of the lift is 954 meters, and the capacity is 1,781 people per hour.

Photo of the lower reaches of the Plateau route

Video of the lower reaches of the Plateau route

Photo of the top platform of the Extreme and Mogul ski lifts. The Chalet ski lift is nearby

The Mogul chairlift is necessary during freestyle competitions taking place on the slopes of the Extreme Park in Rosa Khutor, when the lift lifts athletes to a platform from which they can ride down a difficult short road with a springboard.

The Juventa green trail is a short, wide and gentle slope that runs behind the rodelbahn and starts near the Rosa Shelter building.

The length of the Yuventa route is 285 meters with a height difference of 40 meters.

From the lower reaches of the route, the rope tow of the same name “Yuventa” runs. The length of the lift is 277 meters, and the capacity is 720 people per hour.

The children's training slope is located near the beginning of the Juventa route, near the Rosa Shelter building and tubing.

The length of the children's training slope is 80 meters with a height difference of 5 meters.

There is a conveyor lift on the slope, the length of which is 90 meters, and the throughput capacity is 400 people per hour.

The best time to visit the slopes of Rosa Khutor as a ski resort is from December to March. Sometimes the season begins as early as November and ends at the end of April (May). But there are rains even at the height of the season, then the snow lies only on the upper elevations of the slopes.

The opening and closing dates of the ski season are determined by the administration of the Rosa Khutor mountain resort, depending on weather conditions and snow cover. The administration can also determine the dates and timing of routine maintenance. Information on determining the start and end dates of the ski season is posted on the official website of the resort (the website is listed at the end of this article).

Attention! During the season, lifts and runs (some or all) may be closed due to weather conditions. We recommend checking the information before skiing on the official website in real time (you can download the mobile application).

There are ski passes ranging from midday and evening ski passes to multi-day ski passes. You can ride under the starry sky during the winter season every day from 19:00 to 23:00 on the Chalet, Juventa, Rosa Star, Rosa Blade and Training slopes.

You can purchase a single ski pass, which gives skiers and snowboarders the right to ski, as well as use the infrastructure and services of all ski resorts in Krasnaya Polyana (Esto-Sadka): GTC Gazprom (Alpika and Laura slopes), Rosa Khutor" and "Krasnaya Polyana".

On Rosa Plateau there are: an instructor service, a children's ski club, rental of ski equipment and equipment, as well as sports shops.

Olympic Village in Adler

It’s hard to believe that just ten years ago it was completely deserted and grass grew as tall as a man. By 2014, an entire Olympic village had grown up in the Imereti Lowland on the seashore - more than 60 buildings of modern apartments where athletes lived. The second part of the village was built in the mountains: competitions in biathlon, skiing, ski jumping and other sports were held there.

But it is the coastal Olympic village in Adler that today has turned into a premium resort area on the first line with its own streets, blocks, embankment, cafes and restaurants.

This is a great place for relaxation and walking, close to the Olympic Park, the Formula 1 track and many other interesting places.

Tourists come here all year round. All rooms are clean, comfortable, with a kitchen and all amenities. Depending on the number of vacationers, you can choose apartments with one, two bedrooms or more.

Address: Adler, st. Blue

Description

The Winter Olympics in Sochi took place in two regions - a mountain cluster ( Krasnaya Polyana ), whose slopes served as the site of a battle among skiers, snowboarders, jumpers and bobsledders, etc. and in the coastal cluster on a flat surface, where competitions in figure skating, curling, hockey and other “stadium” sports took place. For this part of the competition, the land is flat with a large area and undeveloped. The best place turned out to be the Imereti Lowland, where the Olympic Park was erected.

In the winter of 2014, this was the city center. Several huge intricately decorated squares, giant stadiums located near them and tens of thousands of people. All this resembled some kind of surreal anthill. The Olympics are over, but all this beauty remains. Some buildings function as before. Children's sections have been opened somewhere. They created unusual, really cool museums, a track for Formula 1. They installed bicycle rentals all around and the Olympic Park took on a new life.

Today the Olympic Park is one of the most popular places in Sochi. This is understandable: there are museums, free concerts, an awesome fountain and you can ride bicycles here. And the largest fountain in the region is located right there.

Story

In 2007, this place was a huge construction site: seven years before the start of the Olympics and Paralympics, a village began to be built here, where our athletes later lived. Not only buildings appeared, but also restaurants, swimming pools, and shops. From here it is convenient to get to the Olympic Park. The mayor of the Olympic Village during the 2014 Games was athlete Elena Isinbaeva.

The houses here are designed so that their windows offer stunning views of the sea, mountains and sports facilities. All buildings are built taking into account the requirements of the International Olympic Committee and are adapted for people with disabilities.

Not far from here is the Adler Thermal Power Plant: it was opened specifically to provide the village and Olympic buildings with uninterrupted electricity. But it was thanks to this thermal power plant that it was possible to completely solve the problems with energy supply throughout Sochi that arose earlier.

Why is it called a village? The story stretches back to 1924. At that time, the Summer Olympics were held in Paris, and wooden houses were built for the participants. The place looked like a rural settlement.

Electric trains in Sochi

Despite the prevalence of buses and some of their advantages over the railway, commuter electric trains still play an important role in transport services in Sochi. They are very popular among both locals and tourists. Among the reasons for this:

  • a very rich schedule that allows you to conveniently plan a particular trip. Moreover, Russian Railways specialists monitor occupancy and can add trains on days of high demand;
  • rolling stock, which is always maintained in very good condition, and the necessary types of repairs and maintenance are carried out in a timely manner. In addition to the “regular” Russian-made carriages, these are also fresh “Lastochka” trains (Siemens Velaro RUS), which operate on certain routes, but travel on them is carried out on regular tickets;
  • a large number of destinations. These are Tuapse, Loo, Adler airport, Krasnodar via Goryachiy Klyuch (with a transfer), and many others;
  • high safety compared to a bus, minibus or taxi;
  • reasonable fares, as well as the availability of benefits for certain categories of passengers.

Note! There are traditionally fewer electric trains in the low season than in the high season. This is done on purpose so that they do not go empty.

What to see

The Olympic Village is a cozy microdistrict. Houses with red roofs line the Black Sea. It is best to look at this place through the eyes of its resident and book a room here. Drink coffee on the balcony with a beautiful view, take a deep breath of fresh sea air, and take a dip in one of the outdoor pools.

The embankment is ideal for morning jogging. Feel like a champion, because Olympians lived and trained here. In the evening, take a walk along the sea, order a dish from local cuisine at a restaurant and enjoy a magical sunset, which only happens in the south.

    Suburban trainSochi – Adler – Olympic Park

    The main Olympic village of Sochi (coastal village “Usadba”) is located in the Imeretinskaya lowland of the Adler region. During the Olympic and Paralympic Games of the 2014 Olympics, the majority of international delegates and athletes participating in the Olympics (in a number of disciplines) were accommodated in a specially built coastal complex.

    Near the Sochi Olympic Village there are:

    Olympic places of Sochi on the coast

    In the Adler district of Sochi, where the main construction of new facilities took place, the Sochi Olympic Embankment is located, which in the photo can be compared with the French Riviera or the promenade in Barcelona.

    The length of the embankment is 7 km, fresh sea air, equipped pebble beaches (sun loungers, lifeguards, convenient entrance to the sea), resort infrastructure represented by cafes and restaurants with outdoor terraces are the reasons that guarantee an excellent vacation.

    Olympic Park in Sochi

    While strolling along the embankment, take a look at the Sochi Olympic Park. At the entrance to the park, the Olympic rings in Sochi will greet guests, welcoming guests to the place where the places of glory of the athletes defending the honor of the country at the past Olympics are located.

    The park welcomes tourists every day from 8.00 to 00.00; free parking is provided for those traveling by private vehicle. If you do not have personal transport, use public transport - the Lastochka high-speed electric train, a minibus or a bus.

    Olympic flame Sochi

    The Sochi Olympic Torch is an iconic place located in the central square of the Olympic Park, which gave the start to the 2014 Olympics.

    The Olympic cauldron in Sochi is built in the image of the Firebird, topped with the gilded coat of arms of the Russian Federation and “embracing” visitors who come to visit. The height of the Olympic torch in Sochi went down in history as the highest in the history of the Olympics.

    Close to the Firebird there is a grand fountain with a daily musical show.

    Olympic Stadium Fischt"

    The main Olympic venues in Sochi include the Fisht Olympic Stadium, built for the opening and closing ceremonies. From the open stands, 40 thousand people can enjoy the view of the sea beach and the Caucasus Mountains.

    After sporting events, the stadium is used for entertainment events and concerts, as well as FIFA 2017 and the 2018 FIFA World Cup matches.

    "Big" Ice Palace

    The Ice Palace is a venue for the Sochi Olympics, a multi-purpose sports complex used to host ice-related winter sports tournaments and organize cultural events.

    Built like a frozen drop, the palace was transferred to the use of the Krasnodar Territory to house teams of the continental hockey league.

    Iceberg Winter Sports Palace

    In the park Olympic quarter of Sochi, the Iceberg structure is based, used to host a figure skating tournament and speed skating race.

    The initial relocation to another region was postponed to accommodate youth hockey cups, boxing tournaments and other events.

    Skating

    The bunny is one of the Olympic symbols of Sochi, depicted in skates. It is not surprising that a separate Adler Arena was built for speed skating competitions. After refrigeration equipment was shut down at the end of the Olympics, the center became home to a tennis academy.

    Small Ice Arena "Shaiba"

    The small ice arena "Shaiba" is one of the Olympic attractions in Sochi, the transfer of which to another region or city turned out to be impossible. For the benefit of the Krasnodar region, in 2014, an All-Russian children's sports and fitness center was opened here with general education classes and training.

    Curling

    The architects of the Olympic stadiums in Sochi named the curling stadium in accordance with its shape and style - the gray-blue laconic structure was used during the Olympic and Paralympic curling competitions and as a location for filming the TNT show “Comedy Club”.

    Olimpic village

    Next to the park where the Olympic venues are located in Sochi, there is an Olympic village, built to accommodate athletes from countries around the world during the Olympics.

    Now the complex has been converted to rent out apartments for tourists: cozy homely rooms and houses equipped with their own kitchen and bathroom.

    You can order a tour of the Sochi Olympic Village from local guides on the Experts.Tourister.Ru project. Also, other organizations provide their services to travelers to visit the Olympic Village in Sochi.

    Usually double excursions are offered: Krasnaya Polyana + Olympic Park. Qualified guides will tell you all the most important things about the Olympic events, and will also show you all the most interesting places: a waterfall, an apiary, the Olympic village and much more. The journey takes place along the valley of the Mzymta River to the villages of Krasnaya Polyana and the Rosa Khutor resort, where another Olympic village is located - a mountain one.

    Lifts of the Mountain Olympic Village

    At Rosa Plateau there is a station for two main gondola cable cars (closed cabins with seats inside, accommodating up to 8 people):

    — the Olympia cable car, which takes guests from the lower station of the Rosa Khutor cable cars, located in Rosa Dolina at an altitude of 560 meters above sea level to the Mountain Olympic Village;

    — the “Reserved Forest” cable car, which takes guests from the lake to the “Besedka” station, located at an altitude of 1350 meters above sea level.

    Both cable cars are accessible in the winter season with ski passes and all year round with walking tickets (ascent without skiing). Also, these two cable cars are the first and second lifts on the way to Rose Peak. The third gondola lift, which from the Besedka station will take guests to Rosa Peak, is the Caucasian Express.

    In addition to those listed, the Mountain Olympic Village also has ski lifts available in winter for skiers and snowboarders.

    Holidays in the Olympic Village in Sochi

    IOC and IPC participants settled in the village for the duration of the games. Beyond its borders are objects built in honor of the Olympics, grouped around the main ceremonial square, Medal Plaza.

    The village is located to the north-west of the stadiums of the park, behind it is the dendrological park “Southern Cultures”, founded at the beginning of the 19th century by the famous landscape architect and dendrologist A. E. Regel. To the east of the Olympic Park is Sochi Park, a children's park. The ponds were preserved in their original form at the request of environmentalists.

    The Olympic Park itself is a huge territory with the main sports facilities for the Olympic Games located on it. The largest of them is the Fisht stadium, where the opening and closing ceremonies of the games were held.

    Near the village, on the Black Sea coast, there is a beach, the shore of which consists of large pebbles. It has a developed infrastructure: sun loungers, changing rooms, yacht rentals, ice cream stands - there is enough of everything. Tourists highlight the beach as very quiet, clean and very calm, since there are usually few people here.

    Old Believer Cemetery

    An Old Believer cemetery has been preserved in the center of the Olympic Park.

    The cemetery remains from the village of Marlinsky, which was located here earlier, near which there was an Old Believer cemetery with an area of about 1 hectare and which was not included in the city plans of the city of Sochi. During the construction of the Olympic Park, the cemetery was preserved; it contains burial places of various faiths. The cemetery in the Olympic Park is located in the middle of the Olympic Park, 50 meters from the Fisht stadium and 100 meters from the ceremonial square.

    The cemetery is a regular circle with a diameter of 150 meters, surrounded by plastic fencing and mature evergreen thujas, which stylizes it as a small park. For obvious reasons, the cemetery is not indicated on the diagrams of the Olympic Park.

    Story

    The first semblance of an Olympic village was Olympia, when athletes moved into it and trained there for three weeks. But the first village was opened in Paris, when the question arose of accommodating delegations of athletes from different countries. They were provided with wooden buildings, which were called the “Olympic village”.

    The Olympic village and park in Sochi near the Black Sea were built over 7 years and opened in 2014. 2 clusters were built: coastal (in the Imereti Lowland and mountain - “Rosa Khutor” (Mountain Olympic Village of Sochi) and “Krasnaya Polyana” (Additional Mountain Olympic Village).

    This is a very good solution for holding games in a subtropical climate. Outdoor competitions were held in the mountains (luge, skiing, etc.), and on the coast - in indoor stadiums (speed skating, curling, etc.).

    Bringing ideas to life

    One of the most important components of the success of the Olympics is the convenience and functionality of the facilities being built, because the quality of the teams’ performance depends on this. The authorities approached the foundation of the necessary buildings with all seriousness - at the end of 2007, immediately after the approval of the new Olympic capital, active work began.

    A big problem for the designers of the Olympic units in Sochi was the issue of climate: here it is humid, subtropical, with warm winters and little snow. It was decided to build two so-called clusters: mountain - Rosa Khutor and Krasnaya Polyana, coastal - in Imereti Bay. The climatic conditions of the first made it possible to place places for open-air competitions here, while the second was intended for the construction of indoor stadiums.

    Before the start of large-scale transformations, the Imereti Lowland was an absolutely unremarkable, quiet place surrounded by small villages. On the territory of future buildings, summer residents kept vegetable gardens. There was no infrastructure here, and there were big problems with transport links. The construction of the Olympic Park radically changed the situation in the area - now the largest sports and tourist center in Russia is located here.

    The coastal cluster is successfully designed with maximum convenience for athletes and fans: it contains stadiums necessary to ensure the functioning of the construction department, a park area, a port, a railway line, and a cottage community are located nearby.

    The infrastructure of Olimpiyskiy and the perimeter near it are today developed at the highest level: in addition to all kinds of entertainment, cafes, restaurants, shops and souvenir shops, there are many hotels and other accommodation facilities, the number of rooms of which is extremely extensive.

    general description

    The basis of the entire edge on the seashore is the Olympic Park with dimensions of more than 200 hectares. Competitions in figure skating, speed skating, short track speed skating, hockey, and curling were held here. The stunning start and finish ceremonies of the Games took place here. A distinctive feature of all the local buildings is their grandiose architecture. The appearance of each building carries a certain idea and has a memorable appearance.

    The park can be divided into four subzones:

    • entrance area with alleys, parking, exhibition pavilions and shops;
    • the River Square, equipped with pedestrian bridges, from where an excellent panorama of the surrounding area opens up;
    • The outer square, where there are tourist movement areas, a food court, lawns and walking paths;
    • The main Olympic Square with the main sports facilities.

    The most important feature of this Adler attraction lies in the original decision to locate all the components of the infrastructure within walking distance from each other: they are grouped around the central square. Medals Plaza, with the exception of the Autodrom, which, due to its size, is tucked somewhat to the side. This arrangement allows tourists to make the most intense and memorable excursions. By the way, the park opened its doors to everyone a month after the end of the Games. All of its objects are interesting and unique in their own way, so let’s take a closer look at each of them.
