I really liked the Lagonaki Highlands (Karst Plateau). This is the most beautiful place in Adygea, recently enjoying great popularity among tourists. In this post I have collected all the interesting places and attractions in different localities of Lago-Naki that are definitely worth a visit.

Lago-Naki plateau

Rufabgo Falls

Between Kamennomostsky and Dakhovskaya

Admission is paid - 500 rubles (2019) There is an alternative free entrance You can drive up to the start of the route by car There is parking

Another very popular hiking route. There are many waterfalls on the Rufabgo stream, but you can see 4 of them along the route. The most impressive is, of course, the last one, to which there is an equipped trail, it is called “Maiden’s Braid”.

Waterfall "Maiden's Braid", Rufabgo

The route is very picturesque. The only downside worth noting is the rather expensive entrance, which is especially noticeable when visiting with a group.

There is a toilet on site and it is paid, despite the fact that you have already paid for the entrance.

Sights of the village of Pobeda

In the village of Pobeda there are not as many attractions as in Kamennomostsky or Dakhovskaya, but some of them surpass all others in their grandeur and mystery.

St. Michael's Monastery

The monastery is the most popular and beloved place not only for guests of Adygea, but also for local residents. On the territory of the St. Michael's Monastery there are new and old buildings. At one time, some of the shrine's buildings were completely destroyed, but new ones were built in their place. Overall it turned out very impressive and harmonious. Excursions are held here, they treat you to delicious pancakes with a variety of fillings and drink aromatic herbal tea. Read more…

Holy spring of “Panteleimon the healer”

The monastery described above is located at the foot of Mount Fiziabgo, and the holy spring and font of Panteleimon the healer is located on the mountain itself. A good trail leads here from the Mikhailovskaya Desert. It is believed that the source appeared thanks to the prayers of the founder of the monastery Martyria. The spring itself is lined with stone, a cross with an icon is installed near it and a font is equipped. Many pilgrims are confident in the healing properties of the local water.

St. Michael Athos Monastery

Pobeda village

Visiting the territory is free; at the entrance to the underground monastery, as a rule, a donation is left. You can drive up by car. There is parking.

Often called “Monastery in Victory” , or simply “Monastery” . A very popular place among believers, people come here from different regions.

On weekends and holidays it gets very crowded.

Lago-Naki

The Lago-Naki plateau (Lagonaki highlands) is a very popular place for travelers. But this definition usually means a set of objects located on the road to the Lago-Naki checkpoint leading to the reserve, as well as mountains and a fairly large territory of the reserve itself. As a rule, on the Internet you can see a photograph of alpine meadows and a general text about Lago-Naki. We detail the information.

A theme park in the Mountain Village tourist complex, Nikel village, founded by writer and honored tourist Nikolai Bushnev. Its full name is the Park of Fantasies and Jokes, and the exhibits are original wooden and stone sculptures.

On the territory there are historical pavilions (“Ancient Russian hut”, “Cossack courtyard”, “Dwellings of nomadic peoples”, etc.) and a gallery of applied art.

Observation deck "Iron"

Before reaching the Lago-Naki checkpoint

The visit is free. From the parking lot to the observation deck it is about 300 m. Parking is available

When moving towards the Lago-Naki checkpoint, there are a large number of observation platforms. All of them are worthy of attention, but the best one, in our opinion, is on the “Iron” rock. The view from here is striking in its picturesqueness, and the convenient platform helps organize a tea party and encourages you to linger in this place.

Resorts of Adygea in summer

Natural beauty or architecture? Mountains or rivers? Outdoor recreation, in a tent, or a luxurious fashionable spa hotel? Whatever style of holiday you prefer, first you need to decide on a resort.

Guzeripl

The real edge of geography and civilization is the mountain village of Guzeripl. To say that it is simply beautiful here is to be very modest; Guzeripl has simply fantastic natural panoramas. The best time to relax in its open spaces is, of course, summer.

The thing is that Guzeripl is considered the gateway to the Caucasian Biosphere Reserve . Within the village, on the left bank of the Belaya River, there is a cordon of the reserve - from here you can go hiking, for 2 hours or 2 days, according to your taste. Also at the reserve there is a museum of wildlife of the Caucasus, telling about the local flora and fauna.

On the territory of the reserve you can visit a rope park, as well as see ancient monuments - dolmens. There are no less beauties in the vicinity of the reserve. Here are the famous Partizanskaya and Yavorovaya glades, an abandoned railway, and several excellent observation platforms. In the village itself there are several hotels to suit every taste. Including thermal spas.

Stanitsa Dakhovskaya

If you open a map of the republic, you will notice a small village exactly in the center of all tourist locations. This is the village of Dakhovskaya, and it is very convenient for a stopover, for 1 day or a whole vacation. Everything is nearby here: dizzying mountains, rivers and waterfalls, the most exciting entertainment.

Judge for yourself. From Dakhovskaya it is convenient to take a ride to Guzeripl; along the way you will notice the famous landmark, Granite Canyon . Even closer is the road to Lago-Naki. Also, while driving to your final destination, don’t miss interesting locations - observation decks, markets with souvenirs, cafe gazebos over the abyss.

In the village itself, visit the ancient Stone Bridge , it was built during the era of the Russian Empire. Be sure to go down to the coast of the Belaya River and its tributary, the Dakh River. It is in Dakhovskaya that you can observe an unusual natural phenomenon, the confluence of two rivers. In summer it’s great to have a picnic here, enjoying the pristine nature.

Kamennomostsky

Another convenient location for living is the resort village of Kamennomostsky. Why "resort"? The fact is that Kamennomostsky, or the village of Khadzhokh, as the locals used to call it, is very lucky geographically. Here, as well as in its surroundings, there are many thermal springs.

And on their basis hotels, recreation centers, and open-air swimming pools were built. They are equally popular in both winter and summer, but in the warm season you can also get your share of tanning. Employees of health complexes will tell you about all the rules for taking thermal baths.

However, do not think that only fans of lazy relaxation will like Kamennomostsky. There are plenty of places to go for adventure in the village. the Rufabgo waterfalls are nearby . Active tourists will enjoy the Mishoko extreme park , history fans will enjoy the Khadzhokhsky dolmen and the Belovodye local history museum. Kamennomostsky has excellent tourist infrastructure: hotels and guest houses for every taste and budget, cafes and restaurants, shops, supermarkets, tour desks.

Great Azish Cave

On the way to the Lago-Naki checkpoint

Admission is paid Visiting in groups that gather right at the ticket office You can drive up quite close by car

The largest cave in the region, accessible to the average tourist. Of the closest geographical places, larger caves are only in Abkhazia.

The object is very interesting, but there is one peculiarity. The cave, as well as part of the road leading to the Lago-Naki checkpoint, is located on the territory of the Absheronsky district, Krasnodar region. This is in no way noticeable to the traveler, except for a few signs along the route. At the same time, we mention the cave as an object of Adygea, because most people do not know that this is the Krasnodar region and this can cause confusion, especially since the only good quality road leading here goes through Adygea.

Sights of Guzeripl

There are not many attractions in this village, but they still exist.

Where to stay in Guzeripl – here.

Museum of the Caucasian Biosphere Reserve

The museum complex was created in the mid-fifties of the last century. The exposition is more than interesting. This uses an approach that is used quite rarely. These include high-quality photos of the biosphere reserve and stuffed animals. Moreover, the stuffed animals do not stand on pedestals, but are placed in the environment in which they live. Another difference of the complex is that it operates year-round, without days off or breaks. Read more…

Guzeripl dolmen

This is the largest dolmen in Adygea, and possibly in the whole world. It is located on the territory of the Caucasian Biosphere Reserve and, in fact, is one of its local attractions. Not so long ago, the entrance to the dolmen was free. But some time ago he was taken into protective custody. After all, everyone knows the desire of some unscrupulous tourists to sweep away everything in their path, or to get into where they shouldn’t.

More information about the dolmen GPS coordinates: 43°59'56.0″N 40°08'12.5″E To see the dolmen, you will have to pay 300 rubles to enter the reserve. For this money, you will visit the biosphere reserve named after. Shaposhnikov, you will visit the museum; for an additional fee, you can actively spend time in the rope park.

Large and small observation platforms of Guzeriplya

There are several observation platforms here, but hiking trails are well paved only up to two. The small observation deck is located on Mount Chernaya. The rock has a slightly cut surface, densely covered with vegetation. Here you can enjoy all the splendor of the seething Belaya River, on the eastern side of the village. The large observation deck is located a little higher than “Malaya”, on a rocky ridge resembling a rooster’s comb. More details, map, GPS coordinates

Polyana Yavorova

A very beautiful place, named after the majestic broadleaf maple. The most interesting thing is that you can enjoy the beauty of the surrounding nature and unique views at any time of the year. In summer, tourists successfully camp here with their tents. And in winter they go skiing. Where it is interesting, fun and active to spend time enjoying the snow-capped mountain peaks. Read more…

Mount Fisht

Caucasian State Biosphere Reserve

Visiting the reserve is paid, the pass can be purchased in special places Hiking, requires preparation

View of Mount Fisht from the top of Mount Oshten
Hiking to Fisht requires thorough preparation. When climbing a mountain, the traveler will have to overcome a glacier, which means he will need ice axes and crampons for his feet. The easiest time to cross the glacier is in August.

Devil's Gate Pass, Mount Acheshbok

The composition created by nature, consisting of two mountains, captivates with its appearance and intriguing name. The fact is that the mountain peaks curved towards each other look like the devil’s horns, as they are depicted in fairy tales, and griffon vultures nest in the rocks of Acheshbok - representatives of the family of birds of prey, listed in the Red Book.

Local residents can tell many legends associated with this place. According to their custom, they call the Western and Eastern Acheshbok mountains the Right and Left Gates. In ancient times, the route to high mountain pastures passed through the Devil's Gate pass. Thanks to frequent grazing of livestock, a small passage was created under the pass, which local residents immediately named the Devil's Gate.

Pshekhsky waterfall

Caucasian State Biosphere Reserve

The waterfall is located on the territory of the reserve, a pass can be purchased in special places. The hike is not difficult, suitable for beginners

Pshekhsky waterfall (Fishtinsky waterfall) is very beautiful and will not leave anyone indifferent. Streams of water fall from a height of about 165 meters, making it one of the highest waterfalls in the Caucasus.

Separately, it is worth mentioning the beauty of the place itself, the waterfall flows from the saddle of the Pshekho-Su and Fisht mountains.

Many people don’t even know that the waterfall itself is located on the territory of the reserve. And it’s worth clarifying that you won’t be able to buy a pass here. Therefore, most visitors pass here without buying anything, and we personally know people who have been here dozens of times without a pass and did not even know that they needed one. But from time to time, rangers come here and fine you for unauthorized visits.

What to see in Adygea on your own in 2 days

Hello friends!

After the New Year's road trip, I had the idea to publish a weekend route around Adygea, which is called “turnkey”. That is, FROM AND TO tell you about what you can see in Adygea on your own in 2 days, where it is better to stay overnight and which points on the map are a must-visit.

I would call this route an introductory route. Two days are still not enough to get a feel for Adygea. But it’s quite possible to have time to ride into the mountains and soak in thermal springs. This is the order, and not the other way around. I'll explain why below)).

The main milestones on the map will be Tulsky village, Kamennomostsky village, Art. Dakhovskaya and the Lago-Naki plateau. I assume that the trip will be by car, since it will be more difficult to move under your own power.

Frankly speaking, such a route can be mastered in one day, if you wake up early and don’t stagnate in one place for a long time)).

  • Tula - thermal springs
  • Kamennomostsky - Khadzhokhskaya Gorge, Rufabgo waterfalls
  • Dakhovskaya - Savranskaya cable car
  • Lago-naki - Azish cave, climbing to the plateau, horse riding.

So, we leave Maykop in the morning and make our first stop only 30 minutes later in the Valley of the Ammonites. We pass by the village of Tulsky with its hot springs. It is better to take thermal baths in the afternoon, because the water relaxes you and you won’t want to go further.

The Valley of Ammonites is located under the bridge over the Belaya River, in front of the village of Kamennomostsky. You can park your car on the side of the road and go down to the river. There will be large round boulders, which is not entirely typical for a mountain river. These are ammonites - ancient cephalopods. Only they were petrified and preserved inside these boulders.

Millions of years ago, the Tethys Ocean was in the Caucasus, and mollusks lived in its waters. The ammonites were removed from the ground during the construction of the bridge across the Belaya River and left on the shore. Now there are practically no split ammonites left. Local residents select them for their collections. Some of the fossils were transported to Goncharka Park, not far from Belorechensk. That’s where I saw ammonites in all their glory.

We continue on our way to the Khadzhokh Gorge.

The village of Kamennomostsky used to be called more succinctly - Khadzhokh and I liked the old name of the settlement much more. It is from here that most hiking trails for outdoor enthusiasts begin, and it is Kamennomostsky that I would consider as a place to spend the night. It is located ideally - in the middle of our route.

We enter the village and drive along Mira Street until it intersects with Komsomolskaya Street, then turn right and look for a parking space. Now there will be a huge life hack))

All sources write that the entrance to the Khadzhokh Gorge is paid - 500 rubles, but this is not entirely true. There is a legal free pass, just few people know about it.

I tell and show.

You will see the cash register right away; the bulk of people will rush to it. We need to go to the right, to the private sector. Then we immediately turn left and intuitively move along the highway and the river. If you see ammonites on the right side in the wall of the house and an invitation to a pottery master class, then you are on the right track.

There is only one excursion trail, and entry can be paid or free. If you buy a ticket for 500 rubles, you can also see the mini-zoo and the other (lower) part of the gorge.

The Khadzhokh Gorge is essentially a canyon. The fast mountain river Belaya cut a gorge in the rock. The excursion route is equipped with railings and barriers. You can go through with children, but parents will have to increase their vigilance.

These are the goat paths you will meet along the way))

I don’t know what the Khadzhokh Gorge looks like on rainy days, but during our visit, the water was an amazing emerald color.

First we looked at the canyon from above, and then we went down to the river itself. Incredible beauty! I know that in the summer you can swim here, although the water is scalding cold.

We return to the path and move on. Before the gorge, the Belaya River is wide and calmer. If you continue the path, you can reach the Rufabgo waterfalls. It is precisely for the sake of such leisurely trekking that it is worth staying in Kamennomostsky.

There are no historical attractions in Khadzhokh, but the nature is very picturesque and the tourist destination is more or less developed. This means there are enough hotels to suit every taste and budget.

Here, for example, are a few good ones in terms of price and quality:

Manor Estate - from 2000 rubles for a double room (breakfast included);

Tourist base Activation - from 2500 rubles with breakfast. It is located much closer to the Khadzhokh Gorge;

Guest House on the River - from 1800 per room with breakfast. Located right by the river, there is a large barbecue area.

Guest house "Mountain Lavender" - from 2200 per room. Booking rating 9.7.

Booking.com

The choice of accommodation in Kamennomostsky is decent, but if you are planning a trip to Adygea on holidays, it is better to book a hotel in advance. I was interested in prices for the New Year around November. My surprise knew no bounds. The choice is small, and the prices are doubled.

Well, we continue the journey and the next point of the route is Rufabgo waterfalls . Here we did not go the free route and bought tickets for 500 rubles. From the gorge to the waterfall park it is literally 5 minutes by car. When you see the bridge over Belaya, turn right to the parking lot.

Be sure to go down to the river BEFORE walking to the waterfalls, then you simply won’t have any strength left. There is such power and beauty there!

View from the bridge to the Belaya River.

Near the entrance there is a small cafe where you can have a snack. A little further away there are two huts (Museum of the Adyghe Compound), as an ethnographic corner in order to get an insight into the life of the local population.

Allow at least 2-3 hours to visit the waterfalls. If you have small children with you, then you need to sensibly calculate your and their strengths. We only reached the first waterfall, Shum. Yes, I’m sinful))). But we were just with the children and time was running out (it gets dark early in winter).

Rufabgo waterfalls in winter

In a good way, Khadzhokh Gorge + Rufabgo waterfalls + time for lunch and photos = the whole day.

The next point on our route is the Grafskaya Polyana complex near the village of Dakhovskaya, at the fork in the road leading to Lago-Naki. We came here because of the Savranskaya cable car. I wouldn’t say that the mountains in those places are very high, but only when you get to the very top do you realize that it’s a long way to fly down)). It's scary to approach the edge.

There is only one cable car in Adygea so far. The ascent to Mount Una-Koz takes approximately 15-20 minutes, the altitude above sea level is 1000 m. The cost of a ticket per adult is 600 rubles.

There is not much entertainment at the top. I saw that they organize jeep tours to the Devil’s Finger rock. You can wander around and take pictures against the backdrop of mountain landscapes. We quickly got cold in January and hurried down.

At the foot of the mountain you can drink tea and buy souvenirs, honey, and walnut jam.

The very first photo of the article with a heart was taken on Mount Una-Koz.

From above, I spotted a nice hotel on the other side of the road and noted it for myself. I liked that the Grafskaya Polyana hotel complex is located a little out of the way. A large area, cute houses... for some reason I thought that it would be nice to stay here with children. Such freedom!

In Dakhovskaya itself, everything is also quite good with housing. If my memory serves me right, it is from here that rafting on the Belaya River starts in the summer.

For a relaxing holiday in the mountains, the Dakhovskaya Sloboda hotel is perfect. Room cost from 4300 rubles with breakfast. The view of the mountains is gorgeous, but what surprised me the most was the outdoor pool and stocked pond.

The end point of our route is Lago-Naki . It is better to enter “Azish Cave” into your navigator, although there is still only one road there. In summer it’s nice to take a walk here, ride horses, climb to the plateau to take in the beauty of the mountains. In winter, locals come here for snow))). The main entertainment is cheesecake riding and snowmobiling.

You can go down to the Azish Cave at any time of the year (ticket for an adult is 500 rubles). The temperature there is always the same +6 degrees. My personal independent opinion is that this is one of the most beautiful caves I have ever seen.

On your way back, be sure to plan time for the thermal springs in Tula. I have vacationed in the Water Riviera twice and can recommend this water complex with peace of mind. My friends visited AquaThermo this year, they also liked everything.

  1. Go straight to Lago-Naki, hang out in the mountains and return to Kamennomostsky. Here you can organize barbecues (any guest house provides a barbecue) and have a cultural relaxation. The first half of the second day we will take a walk in the vicinity of Khadzhokh, and on the way back we will look at the springs.
  2. One day go to the mountains - either to Lago-Naki, or just take the cable car. In the evening, soak in a pool of hot thermal water for a couple of hours.
  3. Choose the TOP accommodation in advance to really wow and arrange a relaxing, relaxing holiday. Contemplate the beauty, lazily take pictures against the backdrop of the mountains, eat, drink, enjoy life and not jump around the sights)).

You can also travel around Adygea with an excursion group. Offers should be sought from local travel agencies.

Granite Canyon

Not far from the village of Khamyshki

The visit is free You can drive almost to the place by car There is no parking, cars are left on the side of the road

An incredibly picturesque gorge located near the village of Khamyshki. Here the Belaya River is constrained by rocky banks. Granite Canyon is beautiful in many places.

Dendrological Park named after P.V. Bukreev

The history of this park begins in 1970 with the Berezovaya recreation center. 16 years later, the area where tourists and local residents rested, admiring the charming landscapes of grown seedlings, officially received the status of “Natural Monument”. Today there are about 350 species of trees in the park. Its area is about 20 hectares.

This park has a beautiful pond with islands. On its shores you can find ammonites - the fossilized remains of huge sea mollusks.

There are also unusual stones of bizarre shapes in the park. No one can explain where these miraculous stone sculptures came from, but local legends speak of their alien origin.
