The village of Sukko is located in the valley of the river of the same name. This is where the Caucasus Mountains begin. Near the village they are not yet very high, no more than 400 meters. The river valley and mountains are covered with forests consisting of oaks, beeches, pine trees, and junipers. On hot summer days, coniferous trees release beneficial aromatic resins that fill the air.
Sukko is an amazing resort; holidays here can be different. Whether you want to stroll along a palm alley, find a quiet, secluded corner, visit a noisy and cheerful cafe, or sunbathe on a pebble beach - Sukko has it all. This is the only place in the Anapa region with pebble beaches. On a sandy beach, the sea will not be as clear and azure as on a pebble beach; from Sukko, vacationers will bring beautiful photographs against the backdrop of a shining sea of a beautiful blue hue.
If in Anapa the sea is shallow and always at such a temperature that it does not cool you at all on a hot day, then in Sukko the opposite is true. The depth in the village increases quickly and even after a few meters from the shore you cannot feel the bottom, because of this the sea temperature is a couple of degrees lower, which is a big plus during the sweltering heat. The beaches here are different: there are noisy areas where there are a lot of people sunbathing and swimming, music is blaring, interesting shows are held, and there are secluded areas of the coast where everyone can enjoy the tranquility and beauty of the sea.
The main and most popular beach in the village is, of course, Central; nearby is the open-to-visit beach of the Smena children’s camp. The most interesting beaches on the coast are the Varvarskaya Shchel beach and the shore of the Shingari boarding house.
Central Beach
For tourists, the Central Beach of Sukko offers a clean coast, a clear sea, developed infrastructure, fresh air in which the aromas of juniper are in the air. The phytonicides contained in juniper make the air on the beach truly healing. The beach is covered with pebbles, the stones are small and it is comfortable to walk on them. Pebbles have many advantages: they do not stain clothes, the water in the sea remains clear, and they have a therapeutic massage effect on your feet.
The mountains surrounding the beach on three sides create an amazing microclimate. Unlike other beaches in the village on the Central Coast, the air and water temperatures are a couple of degrees lower, even in midsummer. When it’s hard to be outside during the day, Central Beach is comfortable. On both sides of the beach there are rocks protruding into the sea, which serve as natural breakwaters that reduce the force of the waves. Therefore, there are no dangerous currents pulling into the sea.
The beach administration takes care of the comfort of vacationers. There are wooden paths along the entire shore, which are comfortable to walk on barefoot. There are many cafes and restaurants nearby. The area is regularly cleaned; toilets, changing cabins, and showers are installed throughout the beach. A water equipment rental service is open all day long. Here you can fly with a parachute, swim on a catamaran, ride a jet ski, and go on a boat trip.
Su-Psekh and descent to the sea
So, the city beaches of the high coast of Anapa from the south smoothly flow into the pebble coast of the village of Su-Psekh. An amazing structure also descends here - a staircase of 800 steps, along which you can overcome the steep descent to the sea. Read about the sights of the village and recreation in it here.
There is no beach in Supsekha due to the presence of a steep rocky crumbling shore and sharp stones covering it, the same stones at the entrance to the water. This is what the coast looks like with these stones:
However, there are always fans of extreme swimming here too. And those who simply want to explore the uniquely beautiful cliff, breathe in the sea air, watch local sailors fishing from boats and practice going up and down the stairs running down. We read about the sights of Su-Psekh and look at the photos at the link: . Then the beaches of Sukko begin.
The beaches of Sukko and Bolshoi Utrish with medium-sized sea pebbles, a good sandy bottom of normal depth and clean water are a favorite vacation spot for many Anapa residents and resort guests.
However, getting to these beaches from the city is far and tiring, so if you like the nature of the places of Sukko and Utrish, settle in these villages; the choice of housing is huge: rooms, boarding houses, mini-hotels are always waiting for you at very reasonable prices. At the height of the season (July 2016) from 500 rubles/day per person - less than in Anapa itself.
Getting to both beaches from the city by public transport is not difficult: bus No. 109 will take you there in about 30 minutes. A stop at the Varvarovskaya Shchel beach is available upon request; those who take the 109 should take note and warn the bus driver.
Beach of the children's camp "Smena"
The coastal area of the camp is located to the left of the Central Beach. Entrance to the territory is free for everyone. There are changing cabins, sunshades, and toilets. The shore on the beach is always clean and well-groomed. Since children come here to swim, lifeguards constantly monitor safety. The bottom of the beach is flat, but, as elsewhere on the Sukko coast, the depth increases very quickly. Already a couple of meters from the shore it is quite deep.
If you choose a holiday destination
Anyone who has not yet decided where to go during their summer vacation should pay attention to the Sukko Valley. This is practically the only place on the entire Black Sea coast of Russia where you can breathe healthy and clean air, saturated with essential oils of pine, thuja, fir and juniper, as well as iodine ions. The valley, which is formed by the slopes of the Semisamsky and Navagirsky ridges, covered with green forests, amazes vacationers with its splendor.
The landscape that can be seen from the sea cannot but arouse admiration. This is an area that is framed by steep cliffs, reaching 50 meters in height in some places. Having climbed one of them, many vacationers take pictures of Sukko, photos of the village and the beach. Reviews from those who have visited these foothills indicate that the view that opens up literally amazes travelers with its beauty.
Scientists have established that in ancient times a gigantic landslide occurred in the Sukko Valley. As a result, a cape was formed, which can be admired from above. It is the only one on the entire Black Sea coast of this origin. Today, the Sukko Valley is a natural monument, where you can see relict plants that have come down to us from the pre-glacial period. What else is remarkable about this area? Only here nature lovers can stroll through a grove of swamp cypresses listed in the Red Book.
Varvarovskaya Shchel Beach
This picturesque beach is located between the villages of Sukko and Varvarovka. You can get here by car or minibus from Sukko. A dirt road leads to the beach; you should drive towards Varvarovka along the old vineyard. You will need to be prepared for the fact that cars entering the territory will be charged a fee of 100 rubles. A minibus will take you to the beach on the Sukko-Utrish route. The driver must be warned in advance about stopping at the beach.
The name of the beach comes from the gorge in which it is located. The shore is not as accessible as the Central Beach, but it’s worth a trip here at least once just because of the beautiful scenery that opens up to your eyes. The beach is popular mainly with local residents, and they always know where the sea is cleaner and calmer.
The shoreline is covered with pebbles, rare relict plants grow around, their aroma lingers in the air. The air on the beach is mountainous, saturated with useful microelements, and the sea is the cleanest in Sukko.
During the tourist season, sun loungers and a cafe are available for rent on the beach. There are changing cabins and trash containers on site. There are no shops near Varvarovskaya Shchelya, so you need to take everything you need with you. In the center of the beach, catamarans and jet skis are available for rent; to swim away from the noise of motors and bustle, you need to go a little to the right. There are a lot of boulders in this part of the beach, but the atmosphere is calmer. Tourists with tents often stop here. This is officially permitted and there is a small fee for setting up a tent.

We had a great vacation by the sea in Sukko at the beginning of August! We often remember our visit to the show “African Village”. It was interesting and informative for us to learn the customs and rituals of African tribes. The program numbers are arranged logically, artistic abilities are at a high level. We are grateful for a lot of bright emotions and impressions. Everything is great!!!

Beach of the boarding house "Shingari"
The beach is located on the right side of the Sukko coast. It is perfect for holidays with children. The depth on the beach is shallow and does not increase as quickly as on other beaches. The shore is pebble everywhere and is perfectly clean. A big plus is that even in August, when air and water temperatures reach their maximum, the water on the beach does not bloom.
Beach equipment rentals are available on the shore, there is a small water park for children and a diving club. You can sit under a canopy or on a sun lounger, which are available for rent.
WHERE TO STAY IN Sukko - CHEAP HOTELS AND GUESTHOUSES
Features of the coastal zone
In the entire Anapa region you will not be able to find pebble beaches, except in the Sukko Valley. Of course, lying on warm sand is always more comfortable. However, pebble beaches have their advantages. The first of them is clean and clear water, which pleases vacationers with its blue even in the midst of the summer season. And this is noted by many tourists who visited the beach in Sukko. Photos and reviews from vacationers (taken under the pictures against the backdrop of blue sea waves) confirm this positive side of the pebbles.
In addition, beaches strewn with small wave-polished pebbles are often called natural spas. Here vacationers warm up their bodies on the pebbles, enjoying the sound of the surf. Women who have visited Sukko beach usually leave positive reviews of such procedures. However, they advise taking a towel with you to make your stay more comfortable and to prevent pebbles from staining your swimsuit. Men prefer to sit directly on the stones, which allows them to warm up their muscles as much as possible.
Not only adults, but also children enjoy visiting the beach in Sukko. Reviews from parents note that their children remain clean all day, even building castles from pebbles on the coast or laying out mosaics from them.
The beaches of Sukko are very healthy. When a person walks on them, he simultaneously massages his feet. This healing procedure can cure many diseases, even such complex ones as bronchial asthma and epilepsy, headaches and flat feet. Well, those who simply lie on sun-warmed pebbles receive a positive massaging effect on the blood and lymphatic vessels of the skin.
Entertainment
What does the Central Beach in Sukko offer its guests? Reviews from 2016 and the preceding tourist seasons indicate a large amount of entertainment that is offered to resort guests. One of them is “Tablet”. This is sliding along the surface of the water in a special inflatable “banana”. Well, if vacationers prefer a more relaxed ride, then you can rent a catamaran on the beach. The resort also provides its guests with the opportunity to take the whole family out to the open sea on a small boat. This walk lasts one and a half hours.
It is not surprising that the most common photographs taken about a stay in Sukko are photos of the village and the beach. Reviews from vacationers indicate that the coastal area of the resort is where they spent the bulk of their time. In addition, Central Beach offers entertainment not only for adults. There is a children's water park on its territory. This is a small section of the beach with a swimming pool and three slides. The water park employs professional lifeguard trainers who closely monitor children.
There is an unusual bathhouse on the Central Beach of Sukko, which uses only sea water. Visiting it is very beneficial for health, as it allows you to supply the body with useful negatively charged ions.
What other memories might arise for those who hear the words “Sukko, vacation 2016, photo, beach”? Reviews from resort guests say that the most fun entertainment here is the inflatable slide. People of all ages love her. An inflatable slide gives everyone an incredible charge of emotions, a wonderful mood, and perfectly complements your vacation.
Bugaz Spit
This beach is the only place where it is not crowded, although this area belongs to the suburb of Vityazevo. The coastline goes to the intersection of Anapa and Temryuk districts. In these areas there are camps, boarding houses, surfers, and small hotels.
The beach area is strewn with sand. The bottom of the sea is flat. Stanitsa Blagoveshchenskaya is a settlement located nearby. It is the closest point to this beach.
The part of the Bugaz Spit, which is closer to the settlement, belongs to the Kasandra boarding house. The area is equipped with sun loungers and canopies. If you look into the distance, you can see a spit called Golenkaya. Sailboats regularly sail along it. Tent camps are set up on the shore.

Under a steep driveway
This wild beach was named after the entrance. These places can be reached by going down a steep road along the park called “Nut Grove”. This descent, thirty meters long, is dangerous in some places.
The local sea is transparent. The beach area is made of coarse pebbles, and there are large stones under the water. The silence of the holiday and the purity of the sea water will overshadow the danger of descent.
