Lazarevskoye is the very first resort on the Black Sea where I ended up. It happened a long time ago in childhood, about 3 years ago. We went there several times and I looked forward to each trip with bated breath. Perhaps that is why I have warm feelings for this village. Otherwise, it is quite ordinary, crowded in season, with a railway near the beach. If you like to relax in quieter places, then it is better to rent housing in neighboring villages. Sights can be visited no matter where you live.

33 waterfalls are one of the most striking natural attractions of the region. The valley with waterfalls is a mountain gorge in the Dzhegosh tract, not far from the village of Bolshoi Kismay.

In addition to the beautiful cascades of waterfalls, tourists will be able to admire 7 waterfalls and 13 rapids. Volkonsky dolmen

The Volkonsky dolmen is the only full-size monolithic dolmen in the world that has survived to this day. One of the main attractions is located in the river valley in the village of Volkonka. There is a highway connecting Sochi and Novorossiysk nearby.

Waterfalls of the village of Nadzhigo

The waterfalls of the village of Nadzhigo are located 25 kilometers from the village of Lazarevskoye towards the north. They are located near the confluence of the Gumyshtepe and Kumyshtepe rivers. There are two large waterfalls in total. They are located a couple of kilometers from each other.

What amazes the most is the Zolotoy waterfall. Its height is at least 35 meters, and powerful flows are directed in different directions. A stream of water hitting a rock ledge breaks into two parts. The second waterfall is called Rocket. It consists of four stages and is only viewable from a long distance.

Aul Thagapsh

Aul Thagapsh is considered the only relatively large settlement in the middle reaches of the Makopse River. It is located on its right bank. From the northern part, the Psekhetsh ridge practically adjoins the village.

Among the attractions of the village is a monument to those killed during the Great Patriotic War. Not far from it grows a six-hundred-year-old oak tree. The Kapibge dolmens are ancient ritual structures located just 20 kilometers from the center of the village of Lazarevskoye. They date back to 3-2 millennia BC.

Psydakh Waterfall

Psydakh waterfall is located near Lazarevskoye on the Asha River in the Emerald Valley. It consists of three cascades. The lowest cascade is only a couple of meters high. The second one is slightly higher and has a height of about five meters. But the most beauty will be seen by those who reach the very top cascade along specially constructed bridges and stairs.

Psydakh is one of the most frequently visited waterfalls in the Sochi National Park. It is located in a protected area, the entrance to which is paid. A nominal fee collected from tourists is spent on maintaining the cleanliness and pristine beauty of this unique natural site.

Tiger Cave

The Tiger Cave is located a few kilometers from the village of Thagapsh and at a similar distance from the village of Kalesh. The cave got its name not entirely in honor of the animals of the same name. The name refers to the multi-colored structural bands that form the thin layers of rock.

On the way to the tiger cave, tourists can enjoy the natural landscapes of the subtropics and breathe in the healing aromas of the forest. The total length of the cave corridors is at least 145 meters. But without an experienced instructor, it is not recommended to go further than 70 meters.

Witches Cave

The witches' cave is located on the right bank of the Ashe River near the village of Kalesh. It is also called the Cave of Salvation or the House of Spirits. The length of the cave has not yet been determined by experts due to its partial flooding.

Today, 74 meters of path inside the cave are available for tourists. But according to experts, its total length can be at least 12 kilometers. It is recommended to visit the cave as part of an excursion program. Many people prefer a boat excursion to a walking one, considering it more exciting.

Tulip tree in Golovinka

The tulip tree in Golovinka belongs to the magnolia family. It received its name due to its external similarity with the flower of the same name. Adygeans believe that this tree has the ability to heal from most ailments. You just need to lean against the trunk and stand there for a couple of minutes.

Presumably, the tulip tree in Golovinka was planted by General Raevsky 150 years ago. Holidaymakers enjoy taking pictures against its background. Many even come to him on excursions. Near the local landmark there is a stone inscription indicating that the Decembrists were previously exiled to this area.

Canyon Prokhladny

The cool canyon in the Lazarevsky district has a short hiking trail. You need to walk no more than a kilometer along the Chuzhaya River. The path starts from a large rock resembling a human figure. Locals call her the guardian of the canyon. The name of the canyon is entirely explained by its microclimate. The rocks reliably protect it from the sun's rays, and the moisture from the stormy river refreshes it.

Many guests of the region come to the Prokhladny Canyon to admire the Zigzag, Tandem and Rose Bowl waterfalls. The two sides of the gorge are connected at the top by a road bridge, which is one of the highest in Russia.

Communication with nature

Mount Zhemsi

The mountain is located on the right bank of the Psezuapse River. Zhemsi literally translates as “umbrella”. The ascent begins from the village of Soloniki, which is behind Lazarevsky. The length of the route is 13 km. The hiking trail goes along the bank of the small river Tsukhsvadzh. Along the way there is an opportunity to see a waterfall and a dolmen. After the waterfall, in the shade of beeches and oaks, you can climb to the top (1109 meters), from which a panorama of the sea and mountains opens.

On the way back, the trail passes through tea plantations and gardens. The highway goes down to the sea.

Waterfall "Tears of Laura"

The path to the waterfall begins at the village of Makopse and goes along the bank of the river with the same name. The waterfall itself is located in the gorge. The path to it is equipped with railings and swing bridges. The southern slope of the gorge is rocky and can crumble, so be especially careful when walking along it.

A foreign ship was wrecked on these shores. Only one girl named Laura managed to survive, who was sheltered and raised by local residents. She grew up to be a girl of rare beauty. A guy named Kaymet from a neighboring village fell in love with Laura. They went to the prince for a blessing for marriage, but the prince himself wanted to take the beauty as his wife. The young people fled, but were caught. Laura threw herself off a cliff, preferring death to a wedding with her unloved. Kaymet, having learned about her death, also crashed against the rocks. The mountains, which “saw” all this, “teared” the waterfall.

It is better to go after rain, as the waterfall dries up in dry weather. But the water continues to drip from the rocks and really resembles tears. You can swim under the “Tears of Laura” (height - 16 meters).

Mamedovo Gorge

How to get there: From Lazarevskoye in the direction of Tuapse, go 3 kilometers to the sign “Mamedovo Gorge”. From there it is 2 kilometers to the site on the left of the road. Further along the forest path to the Kuapse River. You can leave your car here and follow the dirt path up from the Black Sea Highway to the waterfall

The waterfall splits into two streams that resemble mustaches. Hence the name “Mamed’s Mustache”. Nearby there is a blockage of stones forming a bathtub. You can swim in it.

The bottom of the gorge is damp, wear comfortable waterproof shoes. It is worth taking water and a “snack” with you, since the local cafe does not have good cuisine and low prices.

A local legend tells about the elder Mamed, who saved the inhabitants of his village from their enemies. The invaders landed on the shore when all the men were at a wedding in a neighboring village. The women and children hid their goods and livestock, and they themselves took refuge in the gorge. The enemies, having burst into the village, found only the old man and his grandson. They ordered Mamed to hand over his fellow villagers under pain of torture. The grandfather pretended to agree to their terms. Seizing the moment, he pushed his grandson away so that he could escape, and he rushed at the leader and killed him. The conquerors immediately dealt with Mamed, cutting off his head.

The Church of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary is located on the “church hill” in the very center of Lazarevskoye. In close proximity to the temple there are Victory Street and the Grove of Memory of Heroes.

Park of Culture

The Lazarevsky Cultural Park was opened in honor of the thirtieth anniversary of the Victory in 1975. It is located in the very center of the village. In the summer it organizes and hosts painting exhibitions, and in the evenings there is live music.

The park has many attractions: a terrarium, an aquarium, a Ferris wheel, and a 9D cinema. There are summer cafes on the territory of the recreational zone. Church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker

The Church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker was built according to the design of Andrius Kubilius in 1999 in the traditional Old Russian style. The church actively interacts with the commission on juvenile affairs, helping minors who have broken the law.

Lazarevsky Ethnographic Museum

A century and a half ago, on the site of Lazarevsky there was a completely different country - Circassia. The Adygs-Shapsugs lived here. The ethnographic museum is dedicated to their life. The two-story mansion of the merchant Popandopulo with unusual architecture is divided into 4 halls. The exhibition includes more than 1,000 different antiques. In a separate room there are exhibits from the last century that tell how the history of Lazarevsky has changed over the last century. The course of history is helped to understand the photographs and archival documents placed in frames on the walls of the museum. Anyone can attend lectures on religion, mythology, cultural studies and historical background of these places.

The Ferris wheel in the village of Lazarevskoye has been operating since 2012. The Kuban Cossack Choir performed at its grand opening on June 30. The attraction was designed by designer Gnezdilov, the author of the 68-meter Ferris wheel in Moscow.

The uniqueness of the attraction lies in the fact that the height of the Ferris wheel is 83 meters. Today it is the highest in Russia. From the Ferris wheel in Lazarevskoye a wonderful world opens up to the surrounding area and the sea. Local residents consider it a symbol of the resort.

The Lazarevsky Oceanarium “Tropical Amazon” has collected an excellent collection of underwater inhabitants of tropical waters. This is a great place for an educational holiday.

Svir Gorge

The Svir Gorge is part of the Sochi National Park. Its length is about 3 km. The entire route of the walking trail is not well-maintained; there are rocky sections. Throughout most of the gorge there are bridges, stairs, convenient passages and signs.

A walk along the gorge begins with a picturesque pond in which lotuses grow; along the way you can admire three waterfalls and a dolmen. Many vacationers come to the Svir Gorge to see the Moonstone with their own eyes. You will have to climb the mountain for quite a long time to get there. The peculiarity of the stone is that against its background, white clothes begin to glow. This glow is visible even in photographs.

If you have very little time for sightseeing, we recommend starting your acquaintance with the resort from the center of the village, where the busiest and most popular entertainment spots are located.

Embankment

Lazarevsky embankment is a landscaped area for walking. It is separated from the sea coast by an elegant white balustrade.

There are many cafes and restaurants, shops and souvenir shops, beautifully decorated photo zones, flower beds, places for renting boats, bicycles and hoverboards. In the evening, vacationers are invited to watch performances by artists.

Park of Culture and Leisure named after the 30th anniversary of the Victory

After strolling along the Embankment and admiring the sea views, you can go to the central park of the village. It is famous for its picturesque alleys and luxurious plants, including many palm trees, plane trees, sequoias, oleanders, and eucalyptus trees.

Lovers of active recreation and families with children are attracted by the attractions, the Wax Museum, and the “Inverted House” art object.

During the beach season, the attractions are open from 10.00 to 23.00; during the rest of the year, their opening hours are reduced to 18.00.

Ferris wheel

It is impossible to miss this attraction - the wheel is clearly visible from anywhere in the central part of the village. Its height is 83 meters (this is a record for our country). From the highest point you can clearly see the nearest resorts of Greater Sochi.

28 cabins can accommodate 130 people at a time. The wheel completes one circle in 8 minutes. In the evening, the attraction is illuminated with bright lights that periodically change colors.

One of the main attractions of Lazarevsky for an independent visit with children or family is the Starfish water park. Its territory is equipped with 11 water slides of varying lengths and complexity. The most extreme and popular of them are the high-speed “Kamikaze”, the “Pigtail” tubes, and the “Black Pipe” indoor slide.

For the youngest visitors there are shallow pools and a specially equipped children's playground. Visitors are provided with sun loungers and tubes for skiing. For the hungry there are cafes and retail outlets.

You can get to the water park by buses No. 69, 70 to the Polyclinic stop. You can walk from the station - the water park is 350-400 meters away if you move up Lazarev Street.
