The most interesting sights of Nizhnekamsk

Nizhnekamsk is a young city, founded in the taiga on the Kama River in 1961 (the official date of foundation is January 12, 1965). Its construction began simultaneously with the construction of a huge petrochemical plant for the production of tires for domestic cars.

The tire “capital” of Russia, which was under construction day and night, quickly became one of the most convenient cities for people to live in Russia. Comfortable housing, wide straight streets border with Muslim and Christian temples, park areas and sports grounds are safe and accessible at any time. The comfortable urban environment is complemented by historical monuments and attractions in the surrounding area.

Parks and monuments, streets

Gabdulla Tukay Park

Address: between Khimikov Avenue and Yunosti Street Cost: free admission

The park was rebuilt at the same time as the library, so it acquired its first and main feature - it became a place for reading and relaxation. All conditions have been created for this: comfortable benches in the alleys and fountains, near which even on a hot day it is not hot to leaf through a familiar book.

The second feature of the park is its theme. Next to the library and the stage there is a stand-book with a biography of the famous Tatar writer Tukay, as well as excerpts from his famous works.

Along the alleys there are paths leading to a reading area for children, filled with figures of heroes of Tatar folk tales and works of the writer. In the “Tukaevsky” corner you can do anything: sit on the grass and read, run on the lawn and have a picnic. There are no restrictions.

There is an interesting corner here. Its secret can only be discovered at night: the pavement tiles near Koza, Baran and Byltyr shimmer, creating national patterns - Tatar tulips.

A little less than half of the park is occupied by an area for sports and games. The complexes are installed for children of different ages. Little ones can ride down the slides and swing on the swings, while older ones can practice on the turnstiles, wall bars, rings and crossbars.

All recreation areas of the park with great features are united by the monument to Gabdulla Tukay.

Lemaev Square

Address: next to N. Lemaev Square

From an abandoned and dilapidated Lemaev Square, under the leadership of Emil Sirazentdinov, it turned into one of the most popular recreational places for city residents.

Alleys paved with paving stones with media stands telling about the history of Nizhnekamsk and its inhabitants diverge from the main entrance 450 m deep into the square. It is better for children to go through the “Steps of Creativity”: a game with geoplastics, music, drawing, chess, and an arts stage in the form of an amphitheater.

It’s worth taking a walk through the square in the evening to reach the renovated fountain, which has a light attraction - a laser projection of the logos of the city’s factories and factories, as well as portraits of the city’s celebrities.

The park's organizers took care of safety - the paths were equipped with night lighting and video surveillance.

Chemists Avenue

One of the largest streets in Neftekamsk, on which there are 211 houses, interesting places and businesses.

To get acquainted with the architectural features of the city, it is worth driving through it: green trees and shrubs, residential and office premises, night illumination will amaze with their brevity, purity of form and beauty. The avenue is the face of the city.

Kama embankment

Address: Krasny Klyuch village, Kama River embankment Directions: by trams No. 2 and No. 8 to the stop. "Red Key"

Updated in the year of the city's fiftieth anniversary. Changes have taken place at the European level. Red carpets with elegant benches lead to the restored and reconstructed buildings on the embankment.

The pier became bright, attracting the eyes of tourists from the river: on the retaining walls there are white seagulls against the background of blue waves and a red key, a symbol of the embankment. A 50-meter-high light and music fountain shoots out from the Kama, its jets dancing to the music are illuminated at night.

Near the shore there is the Lower Embankment with Scandinavian-style houses for selling food and souvenirs. The entire pedestrian area, paved with paving stones, is divided into a recreation area, decorated with flowers in huge flowerpots, and a bicycle lane.

A landmark of the embankment is the recently built museum named after Ahsan Fatkhutdinov. It is located in an unusual house from an architectural point of view and is intended for exhibitions of the artist’s original works dedicated to Gabdulla Tukai.

Nizhnekamsk Maidan

Address: Ilyinka village, st. Ozernaya Directions: route No. 105 “Nizhnekamsk - Ilyinka”

The Ilyinka sports complex with a hippodrome and a highway was built nearby.

Nizhnekamsk

From Moscow

If you, like me, prefer planes instead of trains and cars, and you need to get to Nizhnekamsk as quickly as possible, book your trip on the website of your preferred company.
For tourists who have a limited travel budget, the cheapest airline is suitable. Today it is “Victory”. Thus, when departing from Moscow, the time spent on the flight will take one hour and forty-five minutes. Departures take place every day at 18:20 pm Moscow time, and the price of the trip is 1199 rubles one way. I would like to warn those travelers who are watching their diet or following a diet for health reasons. There are no meals on board the plane, so eat dinner right before you board or at the airport. Remember that you must check in for your flight at least forty minutes in advance. Keep track of the time or use paid online registration. For this service you need to pay 300 rubles.

If you prefer quality, I would advise choosing other companies for your flight. There are daily flights from Moscow:

  • S7. The ticket price will be 2100 rubles one way.
  • Aeroflot. The price for the flight is 2500 rubles.

How to get there from the airport

As soon as you board the aircraft, you can relax and even take a little nap, since the flight will arrive in Nizhnekamsk only at eight in the evening. When calculating your budget, keep in mind that the plane lands at Begishevo Airport, which serves several cities: Naberezhnye Chelny, Almetyevsk, Aznakaevo, Nizhnekamsk and others. Therefore, it is located outside the city limits. After arrival, you will need to get to the city yourself. To do this, order a taxi in advance. The price for such pleasure will be approximately 60 rubles per kilometer. The distance from Begishevo airport to Nizhnekamsk is 26 km.

For more economical ground travel, you can use the following life hack. Remember that there are taxis at the airports in all cities? Find people in advance who travel the same way as you, and divide the taxi price among all travelers. Usually, the price for a taxi in such places is increased two or even three times. And even taking into account the extra charge, the price for movement rarely exceeds 400 rubles per person.

In case of an economy trip, you can get to the city center by bus, which is located a little further from the airport. You can reach it on foot in five to ten minutes. The ticket price is 100 rubles, and the travel time is 45 minutes. If you are traveling in a large group, it will be beneficial to book a transfer bus in advance. In this case, you will not have to calculate the arrival time of the bus or argue with taxi drivers about the price. Bus transportation is more than affordable - the price from Begishevo to a hotel in Nizhnekamsk will be about 1,200 rubles. It’s easy to calculate: if you are traveling with a group of five people, the price for transportation will be only 240 rubles.

From Saint-Petersburg

When getting to Nizhnekamsk from the Northern capital, you need to figure out your priorities. There are daily direct flights from St. Petersburg, but their prices are significantly more expensive. Therefore, if time is important to you, but price does not matter, then choose non-stop flights. Travel time takes about two hours. To save a significant amount of money, I choose flights with transfers in Moscow. When purchasing, the waiting period is important to me: I usually don’t sit at the airport for more than 1.5 hours.

There are several airlines with which you can fly to Nizhnekamsk:

  • S7 . The price for a ticket will be 7400 round trip.
  • Aeroflot . The price for the flight is 9,500 rubles in two directions.

For those who have a hard time flying, there are many cafes and bars at Moscow airports where you can relax. But is it worth it if the average check is more expensive than your ticket?

You can get there from St. Petersburg for 3,700 rubles one way. Flights operate every day and at almost any time, so choose a flight according to your goals, and you can find out and compare ticket prices here.

After arriving in Nizhnekamsk, you need to choose the transport on which you will go to the city. The set of actions is identical to that upon arrival from Moscow. Therefore, choose the type of travel that is convenient for you and hit the road. You will not be able to relax on the road, since in half an hour you will be in the city center.

Churches and Temples

Central Mosque

Address: Khimikov Avenue, 59 Phone: (8555)360736 Website: https://muhtasibatnk.ru Opening hours: 5.00-21.00 Mon-Sun

One of the youngest and most beautiful Muslim churches in Russia, built at the end of the 20th century (1989-96) according to the design of I. Sabitov, R. I. Makuev, F. G. Khanov in the center of Nizhnekamsk at a traffic intersection next to modern high-rise residential areas .

The multi-minaret mosque (the height of the corner minarets is 66 m), built on a geometrically regular rectangular area, surprises with its lightness, weightlessness, light and upward direction.

The complex is multifaceted: it performs not only a cult, but also an educational function. On its territory there is a library, a cultural and historical center, a madrasah, and a hotel.

Church of the Resurrection

Address: st. Muradyana, 5 Phone: (8555)365085 Website: vk.com/orthodox_nk Opening hours: 7.30-18.00 Mon-Sun

A young single-altar church, built at the end of the 20th century and illuminated in 2000. The Christian church, located on a hill, resembles a modern ship.

The wooden iconostasis, especially revered icons of Seraphim of Sarov, St. Nicholas, and righteous Simeon of Verkhoturye speak of the past. People come here to venerate the relics of the saints of the Kiev Pechersk Lavra.

New churches are being built near the church at the expense of parishioners. And gradually one of the most beautiful Orthodox church complexes in Tatarstan appears near the Neftekhimiki Park.

Attractions in the surrounding area

Source "Holy Key"

Address: Krasny Klyuch village, Svyatoy Klyuch park Directions: by trams No. 2 and No. 8 to the stop. "Red Key"

On the left bank of the Kama there is a Holy Spring, which has united both Orthodox and Muslims for many centuries.

According to legend, in 1666, Imam Duhait came here to find a site for a new city. In the forest, on the slope of a mountain, an icon of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker appeared to him, next to which there was a spring with healing water. The imam dug a cave in this place, to which a very narrow hole led (it was possible to move along it only on all fours). He made a depression in the ground at the foot of the cave - a small pool, and created a simple system of gutters so that water from the source in the cave could flow into it. He built a modest chapel over the entrance to the cave, visible from the river.

The imam’s grave has not survived, but for several hundred years a stone with Arabic script stood over it.

People of any faith come to worship the holy spring, which does not freeze even in winter. They always drink healthy and tasty water, wash their faces with it, and the bravest ones swim in the pool, not afraid of its low temperature.

Today, the territory of the source - a whole cascade of waterfalls flowing from the hill - is landscaped with natural rubble stone and forged fences. There is a Wishing Tree and a kissing fence with locks.

Church of the Intercession of the Mother of God

Address: Bolshoye Afanasovo village, st. Tsentralnaya, 61 Phone: (8555)444332 Website: hram-p.narod.ru Opening hours: 6.00-18.00, Mon-Sun Directions: route No. 56 to the stop. "Brickworks"

The church was built in 1817 on the site of a wooden church and is an architectural monument of the classicism period.

The fate of the double-altar church is unenviable: it was closed in 1930, and returned to believers only in the late 80s of the 20th century.

The church was illuminated again in 1990, restored with the help of parishioners-philanthropists and OJSC Nizhnekamskneftekhim. Today, the blue building of the temple with the hemisphere of a huge dome is one of the spiritual centers of Nizhnekamsk.

Church of John of Kronstadt in Nizhnekamsk

Address: Krasny Klyuch village, st. Sadovaya, 5 Opening hours: 8.00-16.00 Mon-Sun Travel: by trams No. 2 and No. 8 to the stop. "Red Key"

The famous priest John of Kronstadt visited the Holy Spring several times at the invitation of the merchant-philanthropists Stakheevs. Here, in honor of him, in just 3 years (1992-1995), a small temple with a ridge on the roof was built.

The rectangular white stone structure cannot be called majestic. But simplicity and architectural uncomplicatedness do not “ground” the temple and increase the faith of parishioners in the miracle created by the saint.

Option #3

Nizhnekamsk is the third largest city in the Republic of Tatarstan. Nizhnekamsk was founded in 1961. Our city is also the cultural and sports center of the republic. We have many factories, parks, various theaters and cinemas. Our city also has an honorary title, namely: “Cultural Capital of the Volga Region.” There are more than forty schools in Nizhnekamsk. There are also eleven technical schools, colleges and five institutes.

My younger brother and I really love visiting the theater for young spectators. On weekends, my family and I go rollerblading in the Family Park. By the way, this is my favorite park. There are many green, clean, spacious parks in our city.

My friend and I have been playing football at the Dynamo Youth Sports School for about four years now. There are more than five sports schools in Nizhnekamsk. We have a lot of children and adults involved in sports.

There are monuments in my little homeland. For example, a monument to Mullanur Vakhitov, a monument to the first builders, a victory memorial. My favorite monument is the monument to cosmonauts, dedicated to Yuri Gagarin, the man who was the first to go into space. It looks very beautiful and unusual.

On holidays my parents take me to an amusement park. Our city has a huge Ferris wheel, on top of which you can look at the entire city from a bird's eye view. There are also many original and unusual fountains in our city. The largest and most beautiful fountain is located in Lamaev Square.

Our weather is quite warm. Winters are not too harsh. In summer it is very hot here, so I like to go to the city beach, which is located near the Kama River.

My city Nizhnekamsk is a young, actively developing, green, thriving city. All my friends and relatives live here. In the future, I plan to graduate from one of the Nizhnekamsk institutes and work in my hometown. I love Nizhnekamsk!
