Tetyushi - the city of riflemen

Tetyushi is a city in the Republic of Tatarstan on the highest bank of the Volga. The territory is characterized by the presence of a large number of unique places. The unique spirit of the past can be seen everywhere, and the wealth of museums is amazing.

The small and beautiful settlement has many buildings in a medieval style. There are funny sculptural monuments everywhere. And 13 kilometers away is the famous manor complex.

The formation of a district town in the Kazan province began in 1578. It was here that Russian governors organized a guard fortification to ensure reliable protection of the Volga region. Even now you will see with your own eyes some traces of the fortifications. The hospitable, provincial region attracts tourists from all over the world.

To help the police

Older people remember the times when groups of people with red armbands on their sleeves plied the streets of the city - patrols of the so-called DND - voluntary people's squads that once existed in almost all enterprises. And no matter how much the work of these units is criticized - they say that bringing order to the streets of cities and villages and catching hooligans is the job of law enforcement agencies, the help of such units was significant. Besides, on the other hand, why do you need to shift responsibility for peace and quiet in your hometown only to the police?

Concerned about the increase in crime, especially among minor townspeople, the Tetyush administration decided to revive the extinct movement of voluntary people's squads. Thus, at the end of May of this year, a resolution was issued by the head of the administration of the Tetyushsky district, which strongly recommended that enterprise teams create such squads. And even a duty schedule has been drawn up. In the summer, for example, the Democratic Party will patrol their hometown every day from 8 pm to midnight.

It is noteworthy that the hottest days - holidays - went to representatives of the administration and the city council.

Architecture – ancient merchant creations

Walking through the alleys of the ancient merchant district, you can discover a lot of information. Stone mansions and barns are unusual. They were built more than 100 years ago. In the northern part there is the estate of the merchant P.V. Serebryakova. It has a unique 19th century style. This man did a lot of good deeds for the residents. He helped significantly expand the church, opened an orphan center, reconstructed the Trinity Cathedral, and improved the burial site. Serebryakov specialized in conducting trade affairs in St. Petersburg.

The construction where A.M. once lived deserves special attention. Bogolyubov. This is a famous doctor of the Republic. He was in charge of the district hospital. The doctor lived in the center for 50 years. He conducted an active medical and preventive practice and was awarded the Order of the Red Banner. A Tea Room, a residential building, and warehouses for the Chembartsev brothers were erected on Lenin Street. This is a local history museum. Be sure to look here to learn a lot of useful information about the life of the Bulgars.

Walking down the avenue, you will notice a women's gymnasium. This building was built back in 1906. The architect was S.V. Bechko-Druzin. Further, in the courtyard of the kindergarten, a small building by V.M. Syromyatnikov has been preserved. This is the merchant of the second guild. Currently, the Social Security Administration operates here.

The land of Pyotr Fedorovich Krupin is memorable . He once lived and studied here. Today there is a functioning hostel here.

On Sverdlov Street you can admire the complex of buildings of the entrepreneur M.I. Maltsev . This man made donations for the construction of an almshouse for citizens who needed help and support. The composition of the buildings has not been preserved in its original form. All that remained was a compact building where the sanitary and epidemiological station was located. Her condition is satisfactory.

Estate of P.M. Kolsanov was built in 1900. It is quite large. A grain dryer, mill, grain dock, etc. are provided. Currently there is an art school in operation.

Compound E.D. Fokeeva is used for organized trade. This is no accident. After all, a figure who specialized in selling dishes, leather, and groceries previously lived here.

The Agricultural School, built in 1910, is a leading monument of industrial and civil architecture.

Mikhailo - Archangel Church In 1817, a two-altar church was built. Monetary donations from parishioners were used for this purpose. In 1890, another additional limit arose in the name of the Mother of God. The author of this creation was P.M. Tyufilin. The illumination of the main altar took place in 1889. The icon of the Holy Great Martyr Panteleimon was kept in the temple for a long time.

The Assumption Church Shrine was built in Krasnaya Polyana in 1757. The money of Major Methodius Nikitovich Kudryavtsev was used. Subsequently, the facility was renovated and its territory expanded. Repair activities were periodically organized. In 1905, a chapel was built using funds from the bourgeoisie G. Sverchkova.

Stakheev's estate Having taken a walk to the Nizhnekamsk region, you will come across Stakheev's estate. Sometimes you get the impression that this is a small St. Petersburg. But in fact, this is the village of Krasny Klyuch, which is located just 5 minutes from the city. This place is especially mysterious and colorful. Almost nothing remained of the rich estates - just one mansion.

A beautiful fountain was constructed next to it. This is a sculpture of a boy on a holy spring. Externally, the structure resembles a palace, decorated with patterned porches. The husband of Stakheev’s daughter was officer Chikin. He led a dissolute lifestyle. The bride could not stand this behavior of her chosen one and ended up in a psychiatric hospital. Subsequently, the property acquired other useful uses. They were converted into schools, a garden, police headquarters, and administration.

Inside the building there is a spectacular thousand-year-old stove with tiles. This is perhaps the only attribute that has survived. Previously, arboretums, gardens, and greenhouses grew around. Many researchers mention caves underground where treasures are buried. But no one has found the treasure yet. Perhaps this event is yet to come.

“Village Day in the City”

Fairs under this name were held in the regional center throughout the spring. But they were also of a competitive nature: a strict jury at the end of the “day” gave the competitor a certain score.

Every Saturday, representatives of one of the local governments of the region launched a brisk trade at the central market of the city. It is clear that the townspeople greeted such an undertaking with enthusiasm: the range of goods is rich, the prices are lower than market prices, and the quality is higher.

It is curious that the villagers had to compete not only in the quality and design of the products offered. The fact is that a creative competition was also held as a separate “nomination”: a real peasant should not only “plow” from the heart, but also be able to have fun - in a kind way, from the heart. So every spring Saturday, perky Russian ditties, lyrical Tatar melodies, and lively Chuvash recitative rang over Tetyushi... The region is multinational, so the Tetyushi residents had the opportunity to get acquainted with the customs and traditions of all their neighbors.

The absolute winner of the competition was the local government “Ilyich’s Path” in the village of Klyashevo; another 8 farms were awarded with incentive prizes.

How to get there?

Book a trip to Tetyushi by bus as part of an excursion group.

excursions from Yoshkar-Ola

excursions from Cheboksary

excursions from Kazan

There are various ways to get to your destination. You can use a personal car, bus, plane, railway station. The most convenient solution is an excursion tour, since you will definitely not go astray from the route, and the trip will be accompanied by an experienced guide.

Tetyushi is located 45 kilometers from the eastern railway station of Bua. From Kazan, your journey will last 146 km. This is approximately three hours of travel on a comfortable road. As you drive, you will be treated to incredible panoramas of the surrounding area.

Cleans drains... hyacinth

A plant with the lyrical name “water hyacinth”, scientifically called eichornia, was recently put into service at the Tetyushsky Water Sewerage Department. The fact is that the gentle southerner purifies wastewater from industrial enterprises in the city so effectively that there is no need for secondary purification. In the water where eichornia blooms, fish feel great - they are the most sensitive indicators of the purity of the aquatic environment.

But the best thing is that after “work” the plant does not need to be disposed of - it is used as livestock feed, because it completely processes all harmful impurities.

The plant grows well, increasing its mass many times during the warm period of the year. Its only drawback is its heat-loving nature: at temperatures below plus sixteen Celsius it can die.

Three years ago, about a thousand “seedlings” settled in the secondary settling tank of the local water supply system, “moving” to a special room for the winter. This year, Eichornia will have to work hard: with its help it is planned to improve the pond located in the center of Tetyushi.

Tetyushskoye oil is beyond competition

When buying butter in city stores, the aunt will definitely ask the seller: “Is it ours, local?” And not at all because the residents of Tetyushi are capricious or, as they say, “every sandpiper praises its own swamp.” It is for the products of local oil producers that people come from Tolyatti and Ulyanovsk. Like, it’s far, of course, even expensive, but delicious...

And the high quality of Tetyushsky butter is confirmed not only by consumers, although they are the main appraisers of any product. At republican competitions and quality reviews, Tetyush’s butter makers were not left without prizes. At the beginning of June, another such review took place, and in Tetyushi. The competition was quite serious. It is known that the products of Tatarstan butter makers have always been famous in Russia. City dairy plants from 16 districts of Tatarstan presented their products to an impartial jury. The objectivity of the competition was ensured by the reputation of the jury members, which included, for example, the head of the production and control department of Tatarstan Sete OJSC, the chief butter maker of the republic N. Volodina, the chief inspector of the State Trade Inspectorate of the Republic of Tatarstan A. Mordvinova. According to the terms of the competition, each batch of oil was designated only by a number, and the jury gave a rating to the “number” and not to a specific manufacturer.

So, the jury left for the tasting. The audience froze. General Director of Tetyushsky Butter and Cheese Plant OJSC M. Nasretdinov froze, waiting for the result. But just a minute ago he claimed that he was not worried at all...

The jury members unanimously gave primacy to the “five”. Do I need to say who exactly was encrypted under it? Yes, Tetyushsky plant.

The region's livestock farmers have something to be proud of: for five months of 2002, most indicators were positive. Meat production increased by 14 percent, gross milk production by 20 percent.

For the first time in the region, Mordovian language lessons have been introduced in the village of Kirteli. For now - as an experiment, which, by the way, turned out to be very successful. The Tetyushsky district is multinational - Tatars, Russians, Mordovians, Chuvash, and Mari live here. And for some time it was the Mordovian language that was undeservedly forgotten.

The conference of entrepreneurs held in Tetyushi was dedicated to the development of private business. There is no doubt that private business is becoming increasingly important in socio-economic development. Last year, the district contributed 36 million rubles to the budgets of all levels, a sixth of this amount was the share of small and medium-sized enterprises. It is especially pleasant that entrepreneurship has also touched agriculture. for example, there are tangible successes in the work of Tetyushiagroservice LLC, a company specializing in crop and livestock production.

They chose the territory of the Middle Volga. After excavations, the most ancient farmsteads were discovered - Oshelya, Khulasha, Thousand-House Shungat. Since the 19th century, scientists and researchers have been regularly searching for treasures. One of them was valued at 13.4 thousand coins of Golden Horde value. Systematically one comes across unique products of the Bulgarians and the Golden Horde. An amazing find is a ring with the engraving “Sultan Mahmudan” and many other jewelry. The complex and varied life of the Bulgars is evidenced by a monument erected by contemporaries - Tetyushskoye II fortified settlement.

Noble Nest

About 15 kilometers from Tetyushi you will meet such a celebrity as the rural estate Dolgaya Polyana. It was here that once there were residents of the noble Molostvov family. Vladimir Germanovich was the leader, and his wife was in charge of teaching. The family maintained close ties to the Russian elite.

Elizaveta loved to carry on conversations with the poet Alexander Pushkin, and often corresponded with L.N. Tolstoy. Various creative personalities often visited the estate - Maxim Gorky, Alexander Fadeev, Boris Ber, Marina Tsvetaeva and many others.

You will see a beautiful alley of larch trees, which was planted by the owner in honor of the arrival of the bride. There is a cascade of ponds nearby. During the revolutionary times, the estate miraculously survived. There are many romantic tales about this district. All the beauty of the noble nest can be seen if you go up to the observation deck. Guests can enjoy romances based on works by Elizaveta Molostvova, performed live.

Watchtower - Legends

Once upon a time there was a Bulgarian fortress on the site of Tetyush. It was equipped with a watch tower. Then there was great devastation. And in 1361 an aul was founded here. It was headed by Elder Tetish. This is one of the true versions of the origin of the settlement. A little later, a garrison of Russian soldiers was established here. It consisted of archers and prisoners. In the 16th century the village was a link of the Moscow state, gaining a foothold on the outskirts. It is noteworthy that traces of the fortifications can still be seen today. Despite the loss of military function, the images on the coat of arms are reminiscent of guard activity.

Upon arrival here, you will see warriors in armor at the walls, their costumes are made in the spirit of the 14-15 centuries. If you wish, you will have the chance to feel like even a royal marksman. If you are a lover of skeet shooting, then you can go to the Olympic reserve school. Shooting at clay pigeons and floating targets is an incredibly exciting experience.

Trinity Cathedral

You will be amazed by the first stone building, which was created in 1773. Primarily funds from parishioners were used. Then, in 1887, P.V. Serebryakov decided to rebuild the shrine. Subsequently, in 1907, the building underwent a major reconstruction. Then, in 1930, the Soviet authorities closed the temple. The shrine was destroyed. Unfortunately, such elements as the altar, domes, fence, and bell tower have not survived to this day in their original form.

Since 1950 The building was actively used by the Tetyushskaya DOSAAF driving school. The space was covered in two tiers. Almost nothing remains of the unique painting. The building was fully adapted to the needs of the cadets. In 1989, an Orthodox community was created. In 1990, St. Nicholas Cathedral was illuminated. From this period the permanent church era began.

The cathedral is systematically undergoing reconstruction and expansion. The temple is distinguished by the presence of an axial composition of strict symmetry. The quadrangle is decorated with onion-shaped domes equipped with openwork crosses. There are two aisles adjacent to the southern part. The highest point of the facades is framed by a three-part attic. Thus, a combination of design from baroque to eclecticism can be traced.

Serebryakov, supplemented by outbuildings. It was installed in 1870. The collections and objects owned by the city are extremely diverse. The entire origin of the famous and ancient corner is reflected in documents and photographs of the 18th - 19th centuries. There were many sources for collecting information. One of the main assets is the cannons of Emelyan Pugachev, a pistol with five barrels, various breastplates, and Orthodox religious items.

A separate portion is occupied by materials about the Molostvov family estate. You will look at an authentic copy of the coat of arms of the family nest.
