Scheme of a trip from Moscow to Koktebel by train, bypassing Ukraine + Funny Video

The small Crimean village of Koktebel is famous not only for its proximity to the sea, but also for a host of remarkable events. A jazz festival is held here annually, and the largest water park in Crimea is located on the territory of the village. Therefore, Koktebel annually becomes a place of attraction for tourists from Moscow and other Russian cities. And you can get to the resort in a variety of ways.

By plane

If you don’t want to spend a lot of time on the road, it’s best to choose the option of flying. True, there are no direct flights between Moscow and Koktebel. However, the nearest airport, located in Simferopol, is only 117 kilometers along the highway, which means it’s still worth considering the option of flying.

You can fly from Moscow to Simferopol on a variety of flights. Flights from Domodedovo and Zhukovsky airports operate along a given route. Nordwind flights depart from Sheremetyevo. And from Domodedovo, in addition to Ural Airlines, flights are carried out by Air, RedWings, S7, Nordavia and Globus.

The flight takes from 2 hours 20 minutes to 2 hours 40 minutes depending on the chosen carrier. The cost varies depending on seasonality and the airline's price list. At the beginning of summer, you can fly to Simferopol for 5,000 rubles, and at the height of the season, the flight will cost at least 6,000 rubles. If you buy a ticket in advance, there is a chance of serious savings.

See flight schedules and current prices for air tickets through Aviasales.

The easiest way to travel the distance from Simferopol to Koktebel is by bus. Flights depart directly from the airport in the morning and evening to the resort village. In addition, you can get to the Simferopol bus station by public transport, pay 20 rubles, and take one of five buses. Travel time takes approximately 2.5 hours; in 2022, the trip will cost 400 - 500 rubles.

Thus, you can get from Moscow to Koktebel using the services of airlines in 5-6 hours, if you take into account a bus transfer. You will have to pay approximately 6,000 rubles for the entire journey.

Airport - Koktebel: how to get there

#1. Public transport

On the territory of the Simferopol airport (it is so far the only one in Crimea) there are no problems with transport, since there is a full-fledged bus station “Simferopol Airport”.

Direct buses to Koktebel depart twice a day: at 05-40 and at 18-40. More precisely, only an evening flight goes directly to our village. The morning one goes to Kurortny with a short stop at the Koktebel station. In any case, both flights are non-stop, so if you get a ticket on one of them, you're in luck. Travel time - 2 hours 55 minutes. and 2 hours 59 minutes. respectively.

When will you be unlucky?

If your ticket has a transfer in Feodosia or Stary Krym. At the box office it is now possible to purchase the entire “connecting flight” at once: Airport - Feodosia + Feodosia - Koktebel. Or the same scheme only with Old Crimea. In this case, you take full responsibility for the difficulties of disembarkation/boarding and luggage.

There are not very many such flights - 06-10, 07-55, 11-25, 12-10, 13-15, but still more than direct. But the most unpleasant moment here is the travel time. Due to forced transfers and waiting for departure, it may increase from 3 hours to 5.

#2. Transfer or taxi

The biggest difficulty in Crimea is that there is neither Yandex.Taxi nor Uber. Therefore, the problem with taxis during the season is acute - local carriers are working like the last time, trying to “cut down” the maximum profit. There is no need to count on fixed prices here.

Among the international ones, only Kiwitaxi dared to work in Crimea - this, if you don’t know, is an online service for ordering transfers. Prices start from 2,700 rubles. For a distance of almost 150 km this is adequate. But the more important thing is that by placing an order, even in February, you can be sure that until July-August the cost will remain the same.

Another plus is round-the-clock support (in the event of force majeure, you don’t need to look for the driver or your car, Qiwi will do everything for you) and a meeting with a sign in the arrival hall. But what is most captivating is the ability to order online, without unnecessary calls and other things: the form is easy to fill out, the advance payment is only 20% for booking a car (all 100 are possible, of course, but only 20 are required).

The rest of the amount is transferred to the driver when he is safely delivered to the hotel.

* If you are still determined to use a local taxi, do not pay attention to overly active “private operators”. Go to the order counter at the airport. The prices there are not bad, the only danger is that the cars may be busy during the season.

By train

At the moment, there is no direct railway connection with the Crimean Peninsula. Therefore, when choosing the train option, you need to take into account the inevitability of transferring to a bus. It is best to do this in Anapa, from where it is another 228 kilometers to Koktebel. Therefore, you need to buy a train ticket on the route Moscow - Anapa. There are 9 flights a day, the fare for which starts from 3,000 rubles. The entire journey takes from 24 to 36 hours. When you issue a “Russian Railways Single Ticket” in Anapa, you will be transferred to a bus going to Feodosia for 460 rubles. The journey will take approximately 5 hours. Next, at the bus station you need to buy a ticket to Koktebel for 160 rubles. Travel time will be 30 minutes.

In total, traveling by train with two transfers to a bus will take a tourist at least 30 hours, and you will have to pay at least 4,000 rubles for the journey.

By bus

If you do not want to make transfers, you can take a direct bus flight from Moscow to Koktebel. The fastest one departs from the Shchelkovskaya metro station and goes through Rostov-on-Don and Feodosia. The bus travel time is 22 hours. There is also the option of traveling through Voronezh and Kamensk-Shakhtinsky, but in this case the journey will take 35 hours. The fare starts from 2500 rubles.

For bus schedules and current ticket prices, see Busfor, Bus Tutu and Avtobus Travel. Different services have different transport companies, so it is better to check the prices in all of them.

The option with a flight from the Shchelkovskaya metro station looks the most attractive due to the relatively short travel time and fairly low cost. But the fastest way to get to Koktebel is by plane, with a transfer to a bus in Simferopol.

The easiest way - The advantage is that you can already choose the route, size and class of car. If you're traveling with gear, you'll need a car with ample luggage space. If you are going on vacation with a large group, you can order a minivan for 4-7 people, etc.

How to get to Koktebel by car from Rostov-on-Don

By car via Rostov-on-DonYou can get to Crimea on vacation from Rostov-on-Don by driving your own car across Russia through the Crimean Bridge. The distance from Moscow to the Guest House on the territory of the Russian Federation is 1500 km. Average travel time is 18 hours. If you wish, you can spend the night in one of the hotels in the Rostov-on-Don area. With an average fuel consumption of 10 liters per 100 km and an estimated cost of gasoline of 40 rubles, your transportation costs will be about 6,000 rubles one way.
Trains across the Crimean Bridge

To the peninsula - by rail

KZD, founded in 2014 after the reunification of Crimea with Russia, maintains the railway system on the peninsula. After the commissioning of the railway part of the Crimean Bridge and the railway approach to it in Kerch, they will come under the control of the KZD. Currently, only suburban services are provided in Crimea, with 53 trains running.

According to him, in total, the schedule for 17 directions of movement of these trains has been agreed upon, although not all of them will be daily.

As for freight traffic, according to KZD forecasts, after the launch of the railway part of the bridge, up to a dozen freight trains from other regions of Russia are expected daily.

How to get there from Feodosia or Old Crimea

From Feodosia and Old Crimea to Koktebel - 20 and 28 km, respectively. The peculiarity of this “triangle” is that all the settlements within it are included in one area. This means that the buses between them are not intercity, but suburban. Getting there is as easy as shelling pears; you don’t even need to stand in line to buy a ticket at the box office. All you have to do is get on the bus and wait for the controller (sometimes the driver himself plays his role).

Departure point - bus station (in each city in a single copy).

It’s a good idea to buy a ticket from the airport to Feodosia, and from there take a taxi to the hotel door in Koktebel. Convenient, considering that you will also have to somehow get from the bus station to the hotel, and Koktebel, if you remember, is an urban-type settlement, and public transport there is a bit difficult.

From Simferopol you will have a choice of bus routes (stable every hour), and from the bus station you can order on the same Qiwi from 1,300 rubles. The option, of course, is complex, but has a right to exist.

Transport of approximately the same quality awaits you in Koktebel

Content:

No matter how many bloggers repeat year after year that “Koktebel is not the same anymore,” the tourist trail to it still will not be overgrown. To be honest, I myself am not indifferent to it, despite all the horrors of the difficulties with infrastructure. It’s not so much the village itself that is impressive, but its surroundings - Cape Chameleon, uninhabited bays, Maly Janissary Mountain, where the grave of Maximilian Voloshin is located.

But an article about interesting places in Koktebel will better tell you about this; we are interested in how things are with transport in Eastern Crimea.

The largest cities closest to Koktebel, to make it easier to navigate, are Feodosia and Stary Krym. Sometimes, if spontaneous interest arises, travelers look for a way to get there from Yalta or Sudak. And, of course, the main thing is how to get to Koktebel from Simferopol airport. Let's start with the last one.

Yalta - Koktebel: how to get there

The idea of getting to Koktebel from Yalta, of course, visits many vacationers. But in this case, you need to be prepared to spend at least 7.5-8 hours on the road (round trip). Whether it’s worth it or not, decide for yourself, my job is to tell you how to do it.

There are no direct flights Yalta - Koktebel, and this is expected. But buses depart to Feodosia almost every half hour from the Yalta Central Bus Station. There are both direct flights and passing ones (for example, from Sevastopol). The latter fact has almost no effect on the quality of the trip, unless you prefer seats in the first half of the bus and you feel uncomfortable riding in the “free” ones.

Departure time: from 03-50 to 19-00 (many morning flights - 7-40, 7-50, 8-00, 8-40, 9-00, etc.). Travel time is four hours one way.

Thus, if Koktebel is the next point on your vacation program in Crimea (after Yalta), the journey, although long, is quite convenient. If it’s for one day, think again whether it’s worth it.

Story

The exact date of foundation of Koktebel is unknown. According to ancient sources, the settlement of Atheneon was located in this place, but during excavations it was not possible to find it.

Moreover, in the vicinity of the resort - on the Tepsen plateau - until the 10th century there existed a Christian city with an area of 17 hectares. Scientists have discovered the remains of a basilica, a number of smaller churches, and residential buildings. The city was destroyed by the Pechenegs, but in the 12th century it was revived by the Venetians, then it was called Possidima.

In the middle of the 14th century, the city passed to the Genoese, and in 1475 to the Ottomans. In the 19th century, the settlement on the site of present-day Koktebel was revived in connection with the emergence of a Bulgarian village. In 1817, in the village, then called Kok-Tebel, there were 23 households. In those days, the village turned into a popular summer vacation spot.

The founder of the dacha Koktebel is the local landowner E. A. Junge. Since the 1880s he began to sell part of his land for summer cottages. Already since the 1890s. Famous writers, artists, and scientists visited the Junge estate.

A major role in the development of the resort was played by the famous poet and artist Maximilian Voloshin, who settled here at the beginning of the 20th century and hosted famous people of art at his dacha. Thus, his guests at different times were A. Tolstoy, M. Bulgakov, N. Chukovsky, V. Veresaev, M. Tsvetaeva, N. Gumilev, etc. In the 1930s, after the artist’s death, his dacha was transformed into the House of Writers' Creativity "Koktebel", which still exists today.

In 1920 - 1930 Koktebel became a center of gliding, which was facilitated by constant upward air currents on the Uzun-Syrt plateau, and for some time the village was called Planersky. In the fall of 1929, the pilot and artist, grandson of I.K. Aivazovsky, Konstantin Artseulov, took into the air a glider designed by S.P. Korolev and S. Lyushin. Among the local attractions are the Museum of Gliding and the Koktebel Gliding Sports Center (GSC), where lovers of extreme recreation can master the technique of hang gliding.

Since February 1991, the village has been part of the restored Crimean Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic, a little later renamed the Autonomous Republic of Crimea. By a resolution of the Supreme Council of Crimea dated July 1, 1992, the historical name of Koktebel was returned to the village.

Since March 21, 2014, Koktebel shared the fate of the entire Crimea, which was reunited with Russia. As part of the Republic of Crimea, it is located in the urban district of Feodosia.

Sudak - Koktebel: how to get there

If you decide to organize a one-day excursion from Sudak, then it’s quite possible to get to Koktebel in an hour or two. However, there is only one direct flight. It departs at 14-00, daily, on the route Sudak - Krasnogvardeyskoye.

But this is not a problem, because there are many flights with transfers from Sudak. And not only in Feodosia, but also in the villages of Grushevka and Bogatoye. Travel time will increase by a maximum of 30-50 minutes. Waiting, of course, is tedious, but there is no other way to get there.

Single ticket to Crimea + transfer

You can get to major cities of Crimea, for example, Feodosia, using a “single ticket” from Russian Railways, which includes a train ticket to Anapa or Krasnodar and a bus ticket to the desired city in Crimea. There is no such route to Koktebel.

You can use a single ticket to Feodosia. And from there you can take another bus or taxi. In 2022, the route operates from April 30 to September 30. Tickets must be purchased no earlier than 90 days before the train departs.

The route through Anapa is longer, but by bus it takes 2.5 hours less. With small children, it can be easier to spend an extra few hours on a train than two on a cramped bus.

When purchasing a ticket through the Russian Railways website, you can see how long the journey will take separately by train, separately by bus:

There are subtleties when buying a ticket online on the Russian Railways website - this process is discussed in detail in the article on how to get to Feodosia by train. If you have not yet chosen where you will live and want to save money when booking, we recommend using the RoomGuru service. Firstly, it contains hotels, apartments and guest houses from many different booking systems, so you won’t miss out on a worthwhile option. Advice for passengers with children

A child under 5 years old travels free of charge without a seat.

Discount on a ticket for a child under 10 years old with a seat – 65%.

When purchasing upper and lower seats in a compartment or reserved seat, book a lower seat for your child - then you will get a larger discount.

To do this, if you buy tickets online, book a lower seat for a child separately. If you enter the data of all passengers at once and specify a range of seats, the system will automatically allocate the top, cheaper seat to it.

Saving example: Let's say a ticket costs 5,000 rubles. for the bottom shelf and 6,500 rub. for the top one at full rates. By registering the top shelf for a child, you will receive a total amount of 2,060 + 6,500 = 8,560. By registering the bottom, you will receive 5,000 + 2,680 = 7,680 (saving 880 rubles).

When issuing a ticket for a child, do not forget to manually set the child fare in the “Rate” column when filling out the passenger data.

Intracity transport

In general, city minibuses do not go through Koktebel itself. And there are only buses passing through the village. But there is nothing strange about this - the area of the village is small - you can get to any point in the village in 20 minutes on foot. So, for example, from the bus station to the beach it is only a 10-minute walk.

If you need to travel around the village by transport, you can take a taxi.

Here are some Koktebel taxi numbers:

  • +7;
  • +7;
  • +7.

Bicycles are also . The rental point is located right at the Koktebel bus station. Cost of service: 100 rub. for 1 hour, and for a day - 500 rubles.

Intercity communication

Kerch is separated from Koktebel by 115 km. The travel time will be a little more than an hour and a half. Soon, when the Kerch Bridge connecting Crimea with the “Big Land” is opened, tourists will come to the peninsula in their own vehicles.

Therefore, the easiest way to get from Kerch to Koktebel by car is by moving first along the E97 highway, and then along the Kerch Highway (P29).

If you plan to get to Koktebel by public transport , then from Kerch you will first have to get to Feodosia. Buses depart in this direction every two hours. Trip cost: 150 rub. And from Feodosia, take the same route No. 101 - to Koktebel.

Which cities of Crimea will trains go to?

Judging by the schedules, there will be two destinations: Sevastopol and Simferopol. Traveling on these trains, passengers will be able to get off at stops that are closest to their resorts.

Let's see which stations should be chosen depending on the proximity of popular resort towns.

Moscow – Simferopol

  • Kerch-Yuzhnaya - closest to Kerch;
  • Seven Wells - you need to get off here if you are heading to Shchelkino on Cape Kazantip);
  • Vladislavovka is a station where everyone who wants to get off to Feodosia and its surrounding resorts (Primorsky, Beregovoye, Ordzhonikidze, Koktebel, Sudak) or to relax on the shores of Lake Sivash should get off;
  • Dzhankoy - everyone who plans to relax in Lyubimovka, on the Arbat Strelka, in Nikolaevka comes here;
  • Simferopol - this city is chosen as a destination by tourists heading to Evpatoria, Novofedorovka, Alushta.

St. Petersburg – Sevastopol

  • Kerch-Yuzhnaya – Seven Wells – Vladislavovka – Dzhankoy – Simferopol;
  • Bakhchisaray - here you can go for travelers whose destination is Kacha, Vilino, Yalta or Gurzuf;
  • Sevastopol is the final point from where you can quickly get to Balaklava, Inkerman, Laspinskaya Bay, Foros.

Both Simferopol and Sevastopol have large transport interchanges with regular buses, trolleybuses, trains and minibuses going to all major cities of the Crimean peninsula. Ticket prices are affordable, so a trip to the desired resort will not be a hassle and will not put a strain on vacationers’ budgets.

Sea transport

It’s worth mentioning right away that this is not a way to quickly get somewhere, but an opportunity to simply take a boat ride and get a dose of romance.

Sea transport only goes from Koktebel to Feodosia. And even then irregularly. In rainy weather, flights are generally cancelled. And on a sunny day you will have to wait a long time for departure, because the boat goes to Feodosia only every three hours. The cost of such a sea trip is 250 rubles.

Also from the Koktebel sea pier you can sail to the village of Kurotnoye (next to Koktebel) and to the Karadag Nature Reserve (also located almost close to the village of Koktebel). The cost of such a trip by sea is 100 rubles.

Local residents rarely use sea transport; it always takes longer and is more expensive. But being a tourist, it is quite possible to arrange an exciting sea voyage.

By the way, when approaching the Karadgsky Nature Reserve, you can see up close the famous Golden Arch (this is a huge stone sticking out of the water in the shape of a gate).

Boats always sail under the arch, trying to bring tourists a lot of joy and pleasure. It is not possible to see this Golden Arch from land, since the shore next to it is rocky and does not allow you to get close to the water's edge.

So, Koktebel’s transport connects the village with other major resorts in Crimea. Therefore, by staying at one of the hotels in Koktebel, you can easily get to any attraction of the peninsula.

Before traveling to Koktebel, we suggest that you familiarize yourself with the accommodation options in the resort village.
