TOP-27 - what to see in Labinsk, Krasnodar Territory

The history of the founding of Labinsk is connected with the Caucasian War and the creation of a special military-strategic line on the Laba River. Stretching for hundreds of kilometers, the Caucasian defensive line with many fortresses, guard posts and Cossack towers required enormous material costs and the presence of a large number of military personnel.

General Grigory Khristoforovich Zass, realizing the need to push the Kuban cordon line forward to Laba, in 1837 presented for the highest consideration a project for settling the Cossack villages of Trans-Kubania.

In the fall of 1841, at the Cossack fortification of Makhoshevsky (the highlanders called it Dzhigitale), the village of Labinskaya was founded. Along with our village, other Cossack settlements of the Caucasian Linear Army arose.

Labinsk was founded in 1841, when the name of the village of Labinskaya was approved by Emperor Nicholas 1.

The first settlers of the village were line Cossacks, who were soon joined by people from other classes: Russians, Ukrainian peasants, retired soldiers. The first ataman of the village was the commander of the Labinsky regiment, Pyotr Apollonovich Volkov, who proved himself to be a skilled diplomat who tried in every possible way to strengthen personal relations with the highlanders. By the end of the 19th century, the village of Labinskaya became a major trading center in the southeastern part of the Kuban region. This importance of the village of Labinskaya was established due to its advantageous geographical position in the valley of the Laba River.

At the beginning of the 20th century, there were 4 primary schools and 2 parish schools in the village. In 1909, the Sergievsk men's gymnasium accepted its first students, and then the women's gymnasium. By 1913, construction of the railway was completed. The village continued to develop after the October Revolution and in the first years of Soviet power.

Peaceful creative life was disrupted by the treacherous attack of Nazi Germany. From August 7, 1942 to January 25, 1943, the occupation of the village of Labinskaya lasted. Our fellow countrymen fought bravely against the enemy. A fighter battalion operated on the territory of Labinsk under the command of I.F. Konstantinov, which then grew into a powerful partisan detachment headed by N.A. Khalkhunov. The underground group “Young Avenger,” whose commander was D.A. Shervashidze, acted boldly and decisively.

Forever in our memory are the names of those who defended the freedom and independence of the Fatherland during the harsh years of trials. Among the Labinsk residents are 10 Heroes of the Soviet Union: M.I.Dontsov, I.V.Kolovanov, D.I.Korkotsenko, N.A.Krivenko, I.A.Kutinov, I.N.Nesterov, A.A.Sosnov, B N. Tikhonov, D. A. Chelyadinov, P. L. Shmigol and full holder of the Order of Glory - I. N. Vasilchenko.

After the war, the restoration of the destroyed national economy proceeded at an accelerated pace. Forecast

The forecast for Kuban is favorable, despite the fact that the capital Krasnodar is located on a thin platform of the earth's surface, under which an underground sea flows. Therefore, soil corrosion and the construction of multi-story buildings are extremely undesirable. Unfortunately, young people and guests of Krasnodar are attracted only by the capital of Kuban, since only here the infrastructure is developed, there are medical centers, scientific organizations, hypermarkets, and large complexes selling comfort goods.

There are many abandoned villages, desert areas, and closed factories in the Kuban. According to official data, about 400 people per 100,000 healthy population suffer from cancer. This terrible figure is associated with environmental pollution, the release of carbon dioxide and petroleum products into the atmosphere, rivers, and clean ponds. Malignant cancer has become the scourge of the younger generation. The disease affects people of working age and children, less often pensioners.

It is worth noting that only in Krasnodar residents have an average salary of 20,000 -35,000 rubles. In provincial cities, workers are deprived of this opportunity, and the average salary is 18,000 rubles, moreover, the cost of food and utility tariffs are rising uncontrollably. Almost every Kuban resident has a plot where they can plant vegetables and fruits and fruit trees.

The intellectual industry is well developed; there are more than 100 universities, schools, colleges, and institutes of various fields. The mentality of Kuban residents is for the most part “farmer”, but friendly; you will rarely meet a timid and notorious native resident on the street. Kuban bread, butter and flour are distributed for sale to the eastern and central parts of the country by rail.
