Description of the coat of arms: “In a green field above a silver and azure (blue, light blue) tip crossed nine times with silver parts chipped on top and having teeth inclined to the left, there is a golden figure of a running young woman in flowing clothes.”
The symbolism of the coat of arms: “The emerald field of the shield (the color of the taiga) and the silver-azure tip (water) indicate that the city was built on the banks of the river on the site of the Siberian taiga that raged in the past. The figure of a running young woman symbolizes the heroine of the folk epic, Beauty Angara, who gave the name to the city, and is the personification of youth, beauty, strength - qualities inherent in the city. The golden color of the figure - a symbol of wealth - testifies to the high industrial potential of the city, the prosperity and generosity of its inhabitants.
The woman is depicted running to the heraldic right side, i.e. to the left of the viewer, which, according to heraldic norms, means forward movement. The waves, depicted by heraldic teeth, are inclined towards her (to the right of the viewer).”
The coat of arms was adopted by the decision of the Duma of the Angarsk municipality on December 30, 1996.
