Archaeological Museum "Gorgippia"
Anapa "Gorgippia" is a branch of the Krasnodar Historical and Archaeological Museum-Reserve. Anapa is a city with a rich history; the entire museum exhibition is dedicated to the time when the resort was a part of the ancient world. The museum itself is divided into several parts.
The first is the Archaeological Reserve. The ancient city, located on the territory of modern Anapa, bore the same name “Gorgippia”, but it burned down, leaving behind a few fragments of neighborhoods and buildings - streets paved with stone, part of the fortress wall, churches, residential buildings and tombs. This “open-air” part of the exhibition is open to guests. The main attraction is the tomb of Hercules, decorated with bas-reliefs and frescoes. Here you can also see an open exhibition of large stone products, construction parts and agricultural implements.
In the “Ancient City of Gorgippia” hall, with an area of 200 square meters, you can get acquainted with the history of the city, look at ancient artifacts and fragments of the painting of the Crypt of Hercules. The next room, “Before and After Gorgippia,” presents exhibits telling about the history of the Anapa region, from the Stone Age to the Iron Age.

Anapa lighthouse
The lighthouse is one of the main attractions of the city, which is depicted on many local souvenirs. The 21-meter tower was built over ten years, from 1898. In 1909, the lighthouse became operational and was used for its intended purpose until 1943, when it was blown up by retreating Nazi troops.
According to local legend, the Germans never managed to leave the city. Having planted explosives in the lighthouse, they retreated to the sea, but Soviet troops drove them into the lighthouse, where they died, blown up by their own mine.
A new octagonal tower with black horizontal stripes was built in 1955. Today the lighthouse is a popular place for photo and video shooting; it offers a beautiful view of the sea, Bolshoi Utrish and Bald Mountain.

Most of the hotels and sanatoriums are located on Pionersky Avenue of Anapa. It's busiest in the city itself; it's much quieter to relax in the villages. In Dzhemet, you should not settle near floodplains - there are a lot of mosquitoes and midges there.
When vacationing in Anapa with children in the summer, do not forget about the dangers: the vacation is often overshadowed by heat and sunburn, and rotavirus infection. Therefore, it is worth worrying about a first aid kit and taking an insurance policy with you just in case.
According to reviews from tourists, a beach holiday in Anapa with children is good for everyone, except for one thing: around mid-summer, the sea begins to bloom - algae appears, which creates mud and disturbs swimmers. Crocodile farm
The crocodile farm is the largest zooterrarium in Russia, which contains the most ancient representatives of the animal world, reptiles and reptiles. “Beton Brut” is an ultra-modern, conceptual hotel in one of the most beautiful corners of Anapa. The hotel occupies an area of 2.4 hectares on a hill overlooking the sea. The complex consists of an eight-story loft-style building and 5 buildings with 58 rooms.

The amusement area is designed in a jungle style. In addition, there are colored ceramic tiles along the paths, benches and other interesting elements. The amount of entertainment in the park is simply breathtaking: trains, panic rooms, attractions, a boat station and much more.
Oceanarium "Reef"
Actually, we could have posted a meme about beautiful fish here, but we didn’t.
All jokes aside, the Reef Aquarium is one of the favorites on our list and in our hearts. This is because this place is practically a teleport to the underwater depths. And while divers test their endurance in the ocean every day to admire the marine life, in Anapa you can take a real walk between the coral reefs - without scuba gear, heavy equipment and exhausting dives.
The oceanarium in Anapa opened in 2015. The highlight of this place is the recreation of the coral-algae ecosystems of the Red Sea and the Great Barrier Reef - the same one in the Pacific Ocean.
And this is not an aquarium in the standard sense of the word. Marine inhabitants - there are about 20 of them here - live in aquariums of different sizes. This means that you can see corals, starfish, urchins and fish from all angles.
Galloping, but not across Europe: Anapa in one day: is it real?
Things to do
Firstly, you need to stand still for at least 10 minutes in front of the largest aquarium - its volume is four thousand liters. Carefully study every bend of the underwater landscape, try to find at least two similar corals and marvel at the grace of blacktip sharks.
Secondly, find the carpet shark - and he is also a master of camouflage. Predators (their other name is wobbegongs) completely merge with their environment. The unique spotted color makes the sharks almost indistinguishable among algae and rocks.
And thirdly, if time permits, come to the aquarium early in the morning, before opening. Early risers and those who know how to wake up on vacation with an alarm clock have the opportunity to see the awakening of living coral reefs and fish.
As a bonus, you can take photos with starfish and a turtle for a fee.
Prices and opening hours
During the summer, the aquarium is open daily from 09:00 to 23:00. In winter, the Reef closes earlier, at 20:00. But you can come, just like in the summer, any day.
Ticket prices depend on the age of the visitor. Adults pay 600 rubles for entry. Children from four to 12 years old are entitled to a discounted ticket - its cost is 500 rubles. Anyone younger can visit the fish for free.
The cost of tickets for pensioners, as well as disabled people of all groups, except wheelchair users, is 500 rubles. A discount ticket for wheelchair users costs 100 rubles, and veterans of the Great Patriotic War can visit the aquarium for free.
It is worth noting that from October 25, you must provide a QR code to visit the aquarium. Guests of the Reef must present the cashier with one of the following documents:
- Certificate of vaccination against coronavirus infection;
