    Lysaya Gora, located near the city of Anapa, produces excellent photographs. This unique place has become a very popular tourist destination, included in almost all tours of the region. The impression of the beauty of these places will remain in the memory of vacationers for a long time.

    Why is Bald Mountain called the Swallow's Nest?

    The popularity of the place is explained by the fact that it is famous for its beauty and stunning views, opening from above to the sea. A long time ago, larches, pines, cypresses, various shrubs and wildflowers grew in these places. The territory was saturated with oxygen, but at one point the forests were cut down. After this, the springs dried up, the local river was filled with soil and the area was named Lysaya. There are many legends around this place, and historians claim that the name appeared back in the 4th century. The place became a favorite place for swallows. They live here in whole flocks. That is why the mountain was called Lysa, and the term Swallow’s Nest is often used.

    Attractions

    White air defense balls

    Bald Mountain is located near Anapa at the very base of the Caucasus Mountains, and has been home to military antennas since the days of the Soviet Union. Radars were once located in white balls visible from the base of the mountain. They still decorate the view of the city of Anapa. Exactly the same white balls are still located on the mountain peaks near Gelendzhik and Ai-Petri on the Crimean Peninsula.

    If you try to get directly to the balls themselves, you will come across barbed wire, which, however, does not cover the entire perimeter. It disappears approximately 30 meters after the Worship Cross.

    You can have a great time walking through the semi-abandoned area; the military base is still active. You can approach the road from the northern part of the mountain, shortening the path by using the horse trail laid here.

    Staircase 800 steps

    There are a lot of legends around this huge staircase, after studying which we still cannot find the answer to the question of where this staircase came from here. The 800 steps area is in incredible demand among tourists in the Krasnodar region. Civil engineers have created all the conditions for comfortable climbing the stairs. Here you can relax on comfortable benches and admire the stunning view of the sea. The most beautiful photographs with views of Anapa are created at local observation platforms.

    If you go down the stairs to the coast, you will find yourself on a pebble beach of stunning beauty. It’s easy to go down, but going up 800 steps is quite difficult. Such athletic lifting requires strength and good health. But if you do climb to such a height, you will definitely get exciting emotions at the top of the mountain.

    The staircase is located about a 15-minute walk from the Swallow's Nest; you just need to walk along the ridge along the sea line. A visit to the place is recommended for all tourists without exception.

    Staircase 400 steps

    It is possible that some travelers will enjoy visiting the 400-step staircase. It is made of wood and is located on a steep cliff, the height of which is more than 200 meters. Here you can also find carefully placed benches so that tourists can quickly catch their breath and have a pleasant rest. After descending you will find yourself on a pebble beach made of large volcanic stones, it is really very beautiful here. Clear water framed by steep cliffs - what could be more beautiful. Experienced tourists note that several of the lower steps are badly broken, so you need to be extremely careful when descending steeply so as not to trip.

    Monument to a paraglider

    The monument was built on Bald Mountain in memory of the paraglider Yamushin, who practiced free flights in these places. He trained local residents in professional soaring, taught, lectured, instructed athletes and taught the most extreme methods of controlling paragliders. However, the athlete himself suddenly died about ten years ago from a heart attack. The place is to this day constantly decorated with fresh flowers.

    The monument to the paraglider has become a cult favorite for fans of this sport. Today, there are several schools here where you can quickly master paragliding techniques.

    Supsekha Beach

    Unlike the beaches of Anapa, the beach in the village of Supsekh is a small narrow stretch of land located between the sea and the rocks. The beginning of the beach is considered to be the place where the “800 Steps Staircase” attraction ends.

    The end of the beach in Supsekh is the local cemetery, which can be reached by public transport:

    • by regular bus number 109, to the Tereshkova or Sovkhoznaya stop;
    • by shuttle buses No. 123, 125, 126, 135, to the Tereshkova or Sovkhoznaya stop;
    • by shuttle bus number 114, to the final stop.

    There is a safe staircase from the cemetery to the beach. The length of the beach area in Supsekha is 1.3 km, with an average width of the coast of about 1.5 m. The pebbles on the beaches of Supsekha are larger than on the other beaches of Anapa.

    The shore on the coast is quite flat; the seabed is characterized by small pebbles and several large boulders located near the shore. The beach is not recommended for people experiencing discomfort from high altitude. Along the way down the stairs there are areas without handrails and with metal mesh steps instead of concrete.

    Also, overcoming a large steep descent and ascent may not be possible for the elderly, small children and people suffering from diseases of the heart and respiratory system.

    The main visitors to the beach in Supsekh are young people or families with fairly old children. There is no infrastructure on the beach. Even on hot days it is not crowded or noisy here. Due to the absence of a large number of people on the coast, the water in the sea is transparent and clean.

    Walking route along Bald Mountain

    In order to quickly and comfortably walk along Bald Mountain and see all the sights, you need to start your journey from the stunning Walnut Grove, located in the vicinity of Anapa. In spring and summer it is dotted with blooming roses and chestnuts.

    Once you pass through the walnut grove, you will find yourself in a closed area with white balls. As you follow the edge of Bald Mountain, you will soon reach the famous 800- and 400-step staircases that lead to the stunning pebble beach. If you walk along the sea line, in hot weather, do not forget to take enough water and wear comfortable shoes.

    Hiking trails laid here back in Soviet times will help you get to the desired points on the route and not get lost in the area. Moving along them you can easily get to the so-called Swallow's Nest. Mountain swallows have chosen this place and established their nests here.

    When you climb to the highest point of Bald Mountain, you are treated to stunning views of the surrounding sea and mountain peaks. In order not to waste additional time and effort returning to the city on foot, you can return back by minibus or bus; the stop is nearby. It is enough to turn from the mountain in the direction opposite to the sea.

    How to get there by car and bus

    The mountain, about 320 meters high, is visible from everywhere here. You can also identify it by the white balls, which are the radars of a radar station located in the area.

    You can get to Lysaya Gora from Anapa, you just need to move towards the village. Varvarovka. Another landmark can be the Su-Psekh cemetery, located in the south of the city. From this place you can reach the top on foot.

    The distance from the southern outskirts of Anapa to Lysaya Gora is about three km, so the climb to it will take at least 40 minutes. If you'll be climbing on foot or by bike, it's best to use coastal paths and roads.

    The original way to get to Bald Mountain is a horse ride, which can be ordered from any of the representatives of local tourist offices.

    Camping "Paradise"

    The campsite has many gazebos with tables and benches, cool views, each with its own grill. There are showers and toilets. The territory on the sea side is fenced with a wooden fence. Almost all the gazebos are located in the shade of bushes, but the places for tents were a little confusing - it felt like they were offering to camp under the scorching sun. Well, it looks like this summer is not for the faint of heart.
