Religious buildings
Mytishchi, whose sights include religious historical buildings, was founded in 1460 and only in 1925 the settlement received the status of a city.
Church of the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary
Church location: vil. Taininskoye, Mytishchi district, st. Central, house No. 75. The temple is open to parishioners from 8.30 am to 6.00 pm. The year the temple was founded is 1675. During the war with Napoleon, the temple was badly damaged and plundered. In 1929, by decision of the Soviet authorities, the temple was closed.
For a long time, the premises of the temple were used as:

- workshop;

In 1989, the temple building became operational for its intended purpose. Divine services are held here and a Sunday children's school operates here.
Church of the Nativity
The temple is located in the city of Mytishchi, on Novomytishchisky Avenue, in house No. 6. The temple is open to parishioners daily from 8.30 am to 6.30 pm. This is a relatively young building, erected in honor of the Nativity of Christ.
Construction began in 2000 and lasted 5 years. This is a white stone structure with an area of almost 1.5 thousand m². The facade of the building is decorated with 4 domes and crosses. The church has children's and adult worship schools.
Church of the Vladimir Icon of the Mother of God
Location of the church: Mytishchi, Yaroslavskoe highway, house No. 93. The church is open on Saturday from 9.00 to 19.00, on Sunday from 6.30 to 19.00. The church was founded in 1713 and is an important Orthodox cathedral in the region. On the site of the modern building there was previously a small wooden structure that stood until 1819.
The modern building is a blue and white stone temple in the Baroque style. There is a cross on the golden dome. Near the church building there is a refectory and a bell tower. At the beginning of the war, the temple building was damaged and it was used as a utility room. The temple building began to be used for its intended purpose in 1991.

Story
The first mention of the village of Mytishche (with emphasis on “s”) dates back to 1460. The settlement got its name from the “myt tax”, which was collected from traders sailing through the village along the Yauza. Then the collection of duties began in Moscow, and the village was renamed Yauzskoe Mytishche.
In 1804, the construction of the Mytishchi-Moscow water pipeline, organized by decree of Empress Catherine II, was completed. Over time, railroad tracks were laid in the village, a carriage factory was opened, and the first Russian silk factory was launched.
On August 17, 1935, Mytishchi received city status, after which the settlement gradually began to expand, annexing all the surrounding villages and towns. Today Mytishchi is a developed cultural and scientific center of Russia.

The church was built at the end of the 17th century on the initiative of Tsar Alexei Mikhailovich and was part of the travel palace. The architecture of the building refers to the “Russian pattern”. In 1812, the building was damaged by French soldiers, after which it underwent restoration. Under Soviet rule, the church was closed, and its walls were alternately occupied by a club, a bread shop, a hostel, a meat shop, a warehouse, a factory and a workshop. The return of the temple to believers occurred only in 1989, after restoration.

Church of the Nativity
The construction of the temple lasted only a few months and ended in 2001. But after the first services, it became clear that the building could not accommodate all the parishioners, so it was decided to expand it. Today, on the territory of the new church, with an area of 1.5 thousand square meters, there is an Orthodox school for adults and a cultural center for children, where they teach the Word of God.

Church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker
The area where the church is located today was abandoned and littered with garbage for a long time. Caring Mytishchi residents cleared and landscaped the area on which a chapel was erected in 2002, then it was replaced by a wooden church, and just one year later a stone temple appeared here. It took a long time to build: initially only the iconostasis was installed, then the walls and vaults of the church were painted. The temple acquired its final appearance only in 2017. Now regular services are held here, and there is also a Sunday school for children.

Donskoy Temple
The temple was founded at the end of the 19th century. Under Soviet rule it was closed, the building practically collapsed, all the interior decoration was taken away. In 1999, a new wooden church was erected on the ruins of the building, which is currently functioning. Among other things, there is a Sunday school within the walls of the temple, as well as choral singing and icon painting clubs.

Church of the Vladimir Icon of the Mother of God
The building is considered the main Orthodox church of Mytishchi. The beginning of the 18th century is considered to be the time of its foundation. At that time the church was wooden and small in size. A century after its construction, a decision was made to build a new stone temple. The Baroque style was chosen. In addition to the temple itself, extensions were made in the form of a bell tower and a refectory. During the Soviet period, the building was partially destroyed, and a workshop was located within its walls. With the collapse of the USSR, the church again went to the believers, and after restoration, services began to be held within its walls again.

“Tree of Fidelity” is an unusual sculpture installed in Mytishchi in 2012. Marfino Estate
The estate was first mentioned at the end of the 16th century. During its existence, it changed several owners. Boyar Viktor Petrovich Golovin, Prince Boris Alekseevich Golitsyn, Pyotr Semyonovich Saltykov lived here, who did a lot to improve the local territories. Under him, a greenhouse was erected, gazebos were installed, a summer theater and a kennel were built, and the Peter and Paul Church was erected.
The Marfino estate is a palace and park ensemble and a monument of Russian architecture of the 13th–19th centuries
The last owners of the estate were members of the count family of Panins. During their residence here, the appearance of the buildings was actively modified: the main house acquired Empire features, and all other rooms - a pseudo-Gothic style.
Since the mid-twentieth century, the estate has been transferred to the state. The manor house housed a military sanatorium, which is located here to this day. Other buildings on the estate have been converted into residential buildings. Currently, the territory is being actively improved, and anyone can visit the estate.

City Park of Culture and Recreation
The park covers an area of 24 hectares and ends at the embankment of the Yauza River. There are alleys for Mytishchi residents to walk, there is a small pond, a fountain and several interesting sculptures, including “Cats in Love” and “Living Stump”. Losiny Ostrov National Park
The park is located at the mouth of the Pekhorka and Yauza rivers. The territory of the museum-reserve is huge - it occupies 12 thousand hectares. Various types of coniferous trees and birch trees grow here, you can find several ponds and lakes, and several species of animals live on its territory. But the main inhabitants of the park are moose, which are represented here in large numbers and calmly walk through the forest. Excursions are held for visitors to the park, during which you can learn a lot about the local flora and fauna.

Saint John the Baptist Spring
Once upon a time, on the Rabotnya River there was a village called Rupasovo, whose residents took water from the Holy Spring. Later, when the city of Mytishchi began to expand, the village was demolished, but the source was preserved.
Construction of the Church of John the Baptist is underway next to the spring behind a metal fence.
The water in the source has a turquoise color and an unusual taste due to the blue clay layer through which it passes. Currently, the source is being actively improved, and it is planned to build a chapel. You can collect holy water at any time.

Pestovskoye Reservoir
The Pestovskoe reservoir was artificially created in 1937. It became part of the Moscow Canal, its water is used for the economic needs of the capital. The size of the reservoir dam is more than 700 meters. The total size of the reservoir reaches six kilometers in length and two in width . The deepest place is 14 meters.
