Religious buildings

Mytishchi, whose sights include religious historical buildings, was founded in 1460 and only in 1925 the settlement received the status of a city.

Church of the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary

Construction began in 2000 and lasted 5 years. This is a white stone structure with an area of ​​almost 1.5 thousand m². The facade of the building is decorated with 4 domes and crosses. The church has children's and adult worship schools.

Church of the Vladimir Icon of the Mother of God

Location of the church: Mytishchi, Yaroslavskoe highway, house No. 93. The church is open on Saturday from 9.00 to 19.00, on Sunday from 6.30 to 19.00. The church was founded in 1713 and is an important Orthodox cathedral in the region. On the site of the modern building there was previously a small wooden structure that stood until 1819.

The modern building is a blue and white stone temple in the Baroque style. There is a cross on the golden dome. Near the church building there is a refectory and a bell tower. At the beginning of the war, the temple building was damaged and it was used as a utility room. The temple building began to be used for its intended purpose in 1991.

The first mention of the village of Mytishche (with emphasis on “s”) dates back to 1460. The settlement got its name from the “myt tax”, which was collected from traders sailing through the village along the Yauza. Then the collection of duties began in Moscow, and the village was renamed Yauzskoe Mytishche.

In 1804, the construction of the Mytishchi-Moscow water pipeline, organized by decree of Empress Catherine II, was completed. Over time, railroad tracks were laid in the village, a carriage factory was opened, and the first Russian silk factory was launched.

On August 17, 1935, Mytishchi received city status, after which the settlement gradually began to expand, annexing all the surrounding villages and towns. Today Mytishchi is a developed cultural and scientific center of Russia.

Today, on the territory of the new church, with an area of ​​1.5 thousand square meters, there is an Orthodox school for adults and a cultural center for children, where they teach the Word of God.

Church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker

The area where the church is located today was abandoned and littered with garbage for a long time. Caring Mytishchi residents cleared and landscaped the area on which a chapel was erected in 2002, then it was replaced by a wooden church, and just one year later a stone temple appeared here. It took a long time to build: initially only the iconostasis was installed, then the walls and vaults of the church were painted. The temple acquired its final appearance only in 2017. Donskoy Temple

The temple was founded at the end of the 19th century. Under Soviet rule it was closed, the building practically collapsed, all the interior decoration was taken away. In 1999, a new wooden church was erected on the ruins of the building, which is currently functioning. The Marfino estate is a palace and park ensemble and a monument of Russian architecture of the 13th–19th centuries

The last owners of the estate were members of the count family of Panins. During their residence here, the appearance of the buildings was actively modified: the main house acquired Empire features, and all other rooms - a pseudo-Gothic style.

Since the mid-twentieth century, the estate has been transferred to the state. The manor house housed a military sanatorium, which is located here to this day. Other buildings on the estate have been converted into residential buildings. Currently, the territory is being actively improved, and anyone can visit the estate.

The park covers an area of ​​24 hectares and ends at the embankment of the Yauza River. Saint John the Baptist Spring

Once upon a time, on the Rabotnya River there was a village called Rupasovo, whose residents took water from the Holy Spring. Later, when the city of Mytishchi began to expand, the village was demolished, but the source was preserved.


Construction of the Church of John the Baptist is underway next to the spring behind a metal fence.

The water in the source has a turquoise color and an unusual taste due to the blue clay layer through which it passes. Currently, the source is being actively improved, and it is planned to build a chapel. You can collect holy water at any time.

Pestovskoye Reservoir

The Pestovskoe reservoir was artificially created in 1937. It became part of the Moscow Canal, its water is used for the economic needs of the capital.
