City routes
To the spring
A popular route for a quiet long run. The starting point is at the corner of Ave. Patsaeva and st. Airship. You need to cross the railway tracks in the area of the station. Vodniks, turn right and run to the street. Khristianovich in the new microdistrict, where turn left to.
Next we run past the Holiday Inn hotel to the pedestrian crossing across Dmitrovskoe Highway in the Dolgikh Prudy area. Then there is a short climb to the Vladimir Church: this hill (about 140 m) is marked as a section in Strava, so speedups are often made into it.
On the church grounds, along the way, there is a good spring where you can always drink. Then the route goes through a small park with the grave of the unknown soldier in front of the Vodokanal building.
Having run through it, we turn left and then right, into a kind of “gate” made of pipes. Here the road through the forest begins, with good asphalt, which allows you to run along it all year round.
About 2 km from the “gate” there will be a large fork. If you run straight, you will end up in the village of Afanasovo with an unusual and very beautiful church at the entrance. And the path to the spring lies to the left, to Afanasovskoye Highway, which we cross along the passage and then run straight along the road to Lespromkhoz.
Here you must not miss the turn to the right, onto the path into the forest: it is marked with wooden posts and a sign announcing the spring. This is where the asphalt ends and the most pleasant section along an earthen, trampled path begins.
You definitely won’t run past the Trinity spring: there is a chapel built from huge logs, a house with outbuildings and a bathhouse with a changing room, where there is cold water all year round and you can take a dip.
The route is about 9 km one way.
Circle behind Dolgoprudnaya railway station
Recently, the section of the road to the new Severny microdistrict (7A) from Novodachnoe Highway has become popular among runners, cyclists and roller skiers. There is practically no transport, but there is a new 2-lane road with wide sidewalks and bicycle paths.
Circle around the neighborhood until the traffic light on the street. Academician Flerov is 7800 m. Lighting is still only on half the circle. You can get there directly from the Dolgoprudnaya railway station or from the final bus stop by crossing the tracks via an overpass.

Along the canal
The most popular running route in Dolgoprudny is along the canal. Of course, the comfort of the road depends on the season: after heavy rains it is very muddy in places, and in winter it can be very slippery. But in the heat it’s comfortable there: almost the entire route runs in the shade of trees.
Usually they start from the park on the street. Molodezhnaya to the south, towards Moscow. The bridge (New Leningradskoe Highway) is about 3.6 km along a well-trodden, but in some places very narrow forest path.
"We ran to the palm tree"
Further along the same path begins the embankment of the Left Bank “Eco-Beg”, all laid with paving stones. We run along it for about 2 km and finish at an artificial palm tree.
That’s what they usually say: “Let’s run to the palm tree” - the round trip from the park will be 11 km.
You can diversify the race if you return along the “Eco-Coast” wooden path, which begins with a staircase from a palm tree.
Khovrino metro station
We continue the route along the embankments. From the Eco-Bereg park, the path lies to the right to the Levoberezhnaya railway station, from where you can get to the Khimki Forest Park via an underground passage. There is a fairly large network of paths, asphalt and earthen.
After running through the pedestrian tunnel under the Moscow Ring Road, you will see a direct road to the metro station. Khovrino (terminal of the Green Line). From the start in the park on Molodezhnaya to the station. m. Khovrino almost 8 km.
If on the way back you run further past the park, along the canal, you can see the old buildings of ZahradVorota. Then the path will lead to the gates of the closed Stone Factory and lead to the street. Parkovaya, from where it’s a stone’s throw to Mysovo Park. From the start in the park on the street. Molodezhnaya to the turn to Mysovo about 3 km.
"To the island"
We run further along the street. Parkway (it's a dead end, and there are very few cars there). There will be a monument to motorcyclists and a cyclist next to the Night Wolves club. Immediately behind it is a small square of the Yusupov estate.
In the park you should definitely turn left, past the fountain, to the observation deck with the rotunda! From there you can see a beautiful view of Kotovsky Bay and the island.
Next we go up the hill past the Spasskaya Church towards the Vodniki railway station. Before the railway, turn left and cross the bridge to the island. You can run around the island almost completely in a circle: on one side along the fishermen's garages, and back along the road made of concrete slabs.
The circle from the Vodniki railway station and back along the coast will take about 4.4 km.
"Big Circle"
You can leave it in case you want to run around all the embankments of the city. What’s good about it is that you don’t need to run back and forth, it’s a full-fledged half marathon in a large circle.
At the same time, you can see several sights at once: both sides of the canal, the Khimki forest, which was protected from the route to St. Petersburg by planes taking off from Sheremetyevo, and a large forest to Lobnya.
So, from the island we cross the railway bridge to the other side of the canal and through Khlebnikovo we run north, around the Oil Harbor to Paveltsevo.
Next, through the village of Klyazma you need to run to the bridge to get to the street. Olimpiyskaya, and then through small villages along the road to the big bridge - the new Leningradka. You can walk along it to the other side and return along the canal to the city.

Historical reference
Monument to K. E. Tsiolkovsky by sculptor Yu. F. Ivanov
The name of the city comes from the name of the Dolgoprudnaya railway platform, whose name, in turn, comes from the Dolgoy (“long”) pond located nearby.
The working village "Dirizhablestroy" was founded in 1931 on the basis of the center for the construction of airships and the Moscow airshipport. On May 5, 1932, the airship-building plant began work, and already on November 7 of the same year, the airship built on it participated in the parade on Red Square. In the 1930s, the outstanding airship builder Umberto Nobile worked at the plant for five years. In 1935, Dirigablestroy received the status of a workers' village. In 1938, the village was renamed Dolgoprudny. The construction of airships was suspended. In 1940, the Central Aerological Observatory began work in Dolgoprudny.
On November 25, 1946, a resolution of the USSR Council of Ministers was issued on the creation in Dolgoprudny of the Faculty of Physics and Technology of Moscow State University named after M.V. Lomonosov, which was reorganized into the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology on March 17, 1951.
In 1953, Dolgoprudny became the center of the Krasno-Polyansky district, and in 1957 received the status of a city of regional subordination. After this, housing and cultural construction intensified here. In 1963, Dolgoprudny was classified as a city of regional subordination (the villages of Gnilushi, Kotovo, Shchapovo and Likhachevo are included in the city limits).
In 2003, the working village of Sheremetyevsky and the village of Paveltsevo were included in the city of Dolgoprudny[2]

Temple of the Savior Not Made by Hands
Considering what Dolgoprudny is famous for and the sights of the city, it is worth paying attention to the Cathedral of the Savior of the Image Not Made by Hands.
The famous Orthodox church is located in the central point of the city. The date of its foundation is considered to be 1684. It was at this time that Prince Repin decided to build a church on the territory of his own estate. Later, the temple, like the territory of the estate, became the property of the Yusupov family. To this day, the tombs of nobles from this family have been preserved here. Currently, the Temple of the Savior Not Made by Hands is an active church. The cathedral holds weekly services. There is a Sunday school for adults and children on the territory of the historical complex.

St. George's Church
The Church of St. George the Victorious was founded in the 16th century. Initially it was a small wooden church, but in the 70s of the 18th century the temple was moved closer to the cemetery and rebuilt. The materials were oak and stained pine, and the construction was carried out without a single nail. From then until the revolution, the church underwent regular restructuring.
After the revolution, the temple was closed; it was finally returned to believers only in 1988. In 1989 restoration began, and at the same time - the construction of new facilities. Next to the temple today there is the Chapel of St. George the Victorious, within walking distance are the magnificent multi-domed Temple of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God and the Church of the Life-Giving Trinity.
- Address: Dolgoprudny, Likhachevsky prospect, 19
Intercession Church
The Church of the Intercession of the Mother of God was built in 2004. to 2012 The shape of the temple - a cube - symbolizes the earthly world, the tent - the ascent to the heavenly world. The temple has a belfry with 8 bells, the largest of which weigh 270 and 140 kg. The building is faced with white stone delivered from the Vladimir region.
The tiles were made in the St. Andrew's Monastery, and the painting of the temple was done by masters of the Mstera school, located not far from Palekh. Divine services in the temple have been held regularly since 2007. Next to the temple there is a church shop, there is also a children's playground, and construction of a Sunday school has now begun.
- Address: Dolgoprudny, Zavodskaya st., 2
Church of the Savior Not Made by Hands
The Spasskaya Church stands on the banks of the Klyazma Reservoir. The complex consists of the main church, consecrated in honor of the Image of the Savior Not Made by Hands, and two chapels: the Vladimir Icon of the Mother of God and St. Nicholas the Wonderworker. The building dates back to 1864 - the stone church was built by order of the then owner of the estate, Prince I.B. Repnin.
Later, the estate, together with the temple, passed to the Yusupov princes, and it is the Spasskaya Church that is considered their family tomb. During Soviet times, the temple housed various factories, workshops, and a printing house. Worship services began again in 1991.
- Address: Dolgoprudny, Parkovaya st., 1
Transfiguration Church
The Church of the Transfiguration of the Lord was founded in 1996. First, a wooden church was built in honor of the icon of the Mother of God “Spreader of the Loaves,” and the construction of the stone church continued from 2001. to 2006 The temple has two limits: upper and lower, the building was built in the traditions of ancient white stone architecture, crowned with a helmet-shaped dome.
The unusual shape for a newly built temple - a cube with a basement - attracts attention, while the rich interior decoration of the temple creates a contrast with the external architecture of strict forms. There is a Sunday school at the church, there is a library, and a youth center for different ages has been created.
- Address: Dolgoprudny, st. Dirigabelnaya, 2
Church of Seraphim Vyritsky
The Church of Seraphim Vyritsky in Dolgoprudny is a rare example of a modern church built entirely of wood today. Initially, services were held in an adapted room; a separate building was built in 2007-2008.
The temple is single-domed, crowned with an onion-shaped dome, and also has a hipped bell tower with a small dome. Located in the Vinogradovskie Gorki microdistrict, surrounded by trees, this temple seems to have stepped out of the pages of Russian fairy tales. Classes in folk church singing are held at the temple.

Monument to Cinderella

Made of bronze, this monument is a sculptural image of the main character of the famous fairy tale: an old dress, broken shoes, a broom and a glass slipper in hand as a memory of the ball and the handsome prince.
The figure and especially the outfit of Cinderella turned out to be so sexy that it gave rise to a city joke that the monument was erected near the registry office to test the firmness of the grooms’ intentions: will the future husband change his mind at the sight of such a charming young girl? The author of the monument is Vladimir Zhbanov; the sculpture was installed in July 2012.

Monument to Lieutenant Rzhevsky
The monument to Lieutenant Rzhevsky was erected in the city of Dolgoprudny in 2012, in honor of the 55th anniversary of the city. It is located on Sobin Square, opposite the Dolgoprudnensky Children's Theater. The author of the monument is the Belarusian sculptor Vladimir Zhbanov.
In Dolgoprudny there is a copy of the monument erected two years earlier in Kursk. Although it is unknown whether there was a real prototype of the lieutenant, we all know him very well, mainly from the film “The Hussar Ballad” as a resilient, dashing cavalryman, as well as a ladies’ favorite.
The sculpture reflects these qualities of the hero, being as realistic as other works by the author. There is a fountain not far from the monument.
- Address: Dolgoprudny, pl. Sobina, 3
Coachman and two horses
A coachman and two horses is a sculptural composition installed at the entrance to the city Park of Culture and Leisure in the city of Dolgoprudny. The first part of the composition - horses and carriage - was installed for the 50th anniversary of the city, in September 2007, and the coachman - in May 2008. The author of the monument is Vladimir Zhbanov.
The coachman stands at a distance from the horses and looks at a map of the area, which is why the monument is also called the “lost coachman.” This is a very popular attraction: lovers like to take pictures in a stroller, newlyweds hang locks on elements of the harness with the date of marriage, and children enthusiastically “master” both the stroller and the horses.
- Address: Dolgoprudny, street named after. Academician M.A. Lavrentyev, opposite no. 9
Monument to John Silver
The John Silver monument is located next to the City Theater. The composition is a sculptural image of the famous character from R.L. Stevenson’s novel “Treasure Island” with a parrot on his shoulder and a chest containing not treasures, as one might assume.

Unfortunately, the author did not live to see the installation, so the work on site was supervised by his student, Ya. Filippovich.

Manor Mysovo
The Mysovo estate is one of the monuments of old Moscow architecture. The history of the estate dates back to 1660. It had several owners until in the 1890s it was lost at cards to the merchant A.G. Kuznetsov, and it was this family that owned the estate until the Revolution. The Kuznetsovs built a highway to the estate, and used the house as a dacha near Moscow.
In addition, on their orders, six houses were built “without a single nail” - for rent to summer residents. One of them, known as the “Agronomist’s House,” has survived to this day.
The “house with a tower,” as the main building of the estate is called today, is in need of restoration, but the park around the building is open to the public. The park offers a beautiful view of Kotovsky Bay.

The estate changed hands several times, and in 1912. According to the design of I.V. Rylsky, a house in the neo-classical style was built here at the expense of the last owner of the estate before the Revolution, E.M. Banza. The house has survived to this day, but it needs restoration.
