Start exploring and don't forget to share with your friends!
Beaches of Sudak: general characteristics
No matter which of the Sudak beaches you are on, your gaze will always be drawn to the surrounding landscapes. Here you will find mountain and rocky ridges, vineyards on gentle slopes, majestic walls and battlements of the Genoese fortress against the backdrop of flying clouds.
All the beaches of Sudak follow one after another for 2.5 km along the slightly curved coast, capturing the protected Cape Alchak and the legendary Fortress Mountain. Then follows another 7.5 km of semi-wild and wild beaches all the way to Cape Meganom.
A distinctive feature is the presence of large quartz sand of a silvery hue, which has a healing effect. But not on the entire coast and below we will discuss this point. There are also pebble, sand and mixed beaches.
In terms of accessibility and size, the beaches in this area have positive marks. You can easily get to any of them, and the width of the recreation area reaches 30 meters.
Well, as expected, the beaches here are divided into publicly accessible municipal, sanatorium, paid, wild and nudist.
Sudak itself is very popular among tourists; there are plenty of attractions, entertainment, accommodation for every budget, restaurants, tourist routes, picturesque corners for romantic walks, opportunities for extreme sports and recreation.
You can get acquainted with the city itself in the article “Pike perch on the map of Crimea“, and you will learn about which area to choose for rent from here.
What awaits us
The small resort is famous for its sights and long beach strip. It is located near a picturesque bay, protected from cold winds and storm waves. The geographical location and protection of the mountain slopes have created a climate reminiscent of the southern coast of the peninsula. Advantages worth mentioning:
- A long swimming season, starting in June and ending on the 20th of October.
- Relatively calm seas during the summer months.
- Low rainfall and many sunny, clear days.
- Amazing natural monuments.
There is no time to be bored here; the city has a lot of interesting places from a historical point of view. One of them is considered to be the Genoese fortress, preserved from the Middle Ages. It houses a museum and hosts theatrical performances on historical themes. The ancient Temple of the Twelve Apostles, ancient and new churches and cathedrals are interesting to visit. But first, all visitors strive for the sea. To find out which beaches in Sudak are sandy or pebbly, contact travel agencies or local residents.
The choice is great, since the beach strip stretches for 25 km along almost the entire coast of the bay, extending in a semicircle into the space between Cape Alchak and the Taraktash hill. Historians believe that the name of the city comes from two words “water” and “mountain”, which is quite true.
The coasts smoothly flow into one another, sometimes separated by rocks or forests descending almost to the edge of the surf. Some areas are fenced off, brought into a civilized form and are considered the territory of a certain sanatorium. Entrance to other sections of the coast is completely free. It is better not to appear in some secluded corners with children unless the family preaches complete freedom of morals, since there are places favored by those who like to sunbathe without a swimsuit.
Wild and nudist beaches
Almost all of them are located outside the city limits. A distinctive feature is that most of them are equipped with changing rooms and fresh water sources. Yes, there are no more benefits of civilization there, but this is not necessary, everything is filled with peace and unity with nature. The Alchak Nature Reserve also has several small, about 100 m long, swimming areas. The advantage is silence and cleanliness. To enter the depths comfortably, you will need shoes, since the bottom coating consists of pebbles and quartz sand.
The beaches at Cape Meganom are magnificent. They are almost never visited, since the journey here takes a considerable amount of time. However, leaving for the cape for the whole day, you can become lost to civilization, enjoying only the boundless sea and bottomless sky. You should take food and water with you. There are similar wild places in Sunny Valley, but since they are equipped with free tents and sunbeds, their wildness is conditional.
For those who do not bother themselves with secular conventions, Turtle Bay, a generally recognized nudist corner, is hidden from prying eyes. It is located away from the city near the village of Novy Svet. The shore is strewn with large stones, which are convenient for sunbathing, getting an even bronze color without white stripes or other swimsuit marks.
Municipal beaches
There are about 10 free coastal zones, where there is everything you need for a comfortable stay, 5 are recognized as health zones. They are equipped with changing cabins, awnings, fresh water taps, medical stations, and lifeguards on duty. There is a rental of sports equipment and diving equipment. For children, water slides, dry pools with balls and foam fillers, attractions, and pavilions with soft drinks and ice cream were installed.
The coastal area owned by the Air Force compares favorably with others. Admission is free, although it belongs to the Armed Forces Sanatorium. Almost along the entire length of the site there is a stationary wide canopy, suitable for the embankment and the Brigantine pier. During the season, it is difficult to find a free place; the noise and cheerful exclamations of vacationers can be heard from afar.
Also proven to be good:
- Central;
- Kolkhoz;
- Tsarsky.
They are also convenient and free, except for the additional fee for renting sun loungers and other beach equipment for individual use.
Coasts of sanatoriums
The point of view on which Sudak beaches are better will depend on personal preferences. For those who strive for comfort, it is most comfortable in areas where entry is allowed to hotel guests or for a fee. There is security here, there are storage rooms for outerwear and other things, and more comfortable sheds. Additionally, there are solariums, massage and spa salons, playgrounds are equipped for children, children's parties and themed entertainment are held.
The most popular are:
- TOK "Sudak".
- "Crimean Spring";
- "Star".
They are covered with small multi-colored pebbles mixed with quartz sand, the effect of which is considered healing.
Sudak embankment
In the old fashioned way, let’s figure out where in Sudak to stretch your joints, take your scooter for a walk and parade in front of your fellow vacationers in high-soled flip-flops.
So, the Sudak embankment, with almost permanent views of the sea, stretches for as much as 2 km . The view is sometimes blocked by some kind of tent or cafe, but this is not fatal.
The border streets are from the west - Morskaya Street , and from the east - Musa Mamut Street . Walk between them! By the way, next to Morskaya there is a boat pier from where boat trips start. Read more about them on this site.
Several more streets with vehicular traffic lead to the embankment: Gagarina (without exit to the embankment) and Kurortnaya (with exit). The walking area itself is called Naberezhnaya Street.
Walking here is pleasant and fun. There are beaches, cafes and resort gates all around. A beautiful paved part of the walking area extends from the Arzy cafe to the Sudak water park.
The rest of the embankment is not yet in its best shape.
And we will begin to list all the beaches of Sudak from the Genoese fortress towards Cape Alchak and Meganom.

Island with crabs? Where is the beach?
Crab Island is a Sudak exotic that everyone wants to climb onto. It is located at the foot of the steep slopes of Fortress Mountain, on the west coast.
70 meters from the embankment, in the middle of the sea, a huge boulder rises. It is surrounded by piles of stones, and the remains of a destroyed ancient cape peek out from the water. It was as if a giant crab had spread its claws.
You can get to the island by wading (sand mounds have been preserved), by catamaran, or by swimming - the depth is from 1.5 to 2.5 m.
On the plus side, this is the best place for diving (ask these guys). By the way, on the contrary, there is a small diving center on the shore.
Transparent water allows you to see all the coral reefs, colorful pebbles and agile crabs that are the legal residents of this island.
Sunbathing on the rocks in the middle of the big water and contemplating the ancient fortress walls with castles on the rocks - you still have to look for such a picture! Crab Island is popular among photographers and selfie fans.
The disadvantages include the small size of the island, which does not allow for privacy; in good weather it is always full of people.
Even in a slight storm, it is not advisable to swim to Crab Island. Walking on wet, slippery and sharp stones can result in injury.
Famous monuments and sculptures of the city of Sudak
As in any more or less large settlement, Sudak has monuments in memory of outstanding people and events. There are not many of them in the city (especially considering that one of the two local monuments to Lenin was recently damaged by vandals). But among the Sudak monuments there are also very interesting ones
Hill of Glory
- Address: Resort Highway.
It is a monument and mass grave of Soviet soldiers who participated in the landing in Sudak in 1942 and then liberated the city in 1944. It looks quite typical for Soviet monuments of this kind - with nameplates and a monument in the form of a soldier holding a child in his arms.
In Sudak there is also a memorial sign to the soldiers of the Sudak landing at the embankment, where Cypress Alley overlooks it. Another one is installed on a rock near the village of Dachnoye (in fact, the Sudak region).
Monument to Stefan Sourozhsky
- Address: Lenin street.
This bishop is considered the patron saint of Sudak. Although his biography consists entirely of blank spots, the Orthodox Church believes that he was the bishop of Sourozh (at the dawn of the Middle Ages). The monument is completely official - in classical proportions, and even installed near the city administration building.
Stela of the Novgorod-Kirillovsky regiment
- Address: Eastern Highway.
It is dedicated to the military unit that was the first to enter the city after the annexation of Crimea to the Russian Empire in 1783. It is a 12-meter column with a Russian eagle on top and cannons “from the time of the conquest of Crimea” at the foot. The monument was built with a donation from a prosperous Sudak businessman.
Monument to Tourist
- Address: st. Lenina, 73.
A new monument to Sudak, made of metal by a master blacksmith. Appeared in the city in 2015. The master of artistic forging, D. Levin, immortalized a tourist in the style of “backpack and ice ax,” not a “mattress person,” riding on a comfortable excursion bus.
The sculpture is made in human height and stands on the general level. In Sudak, a belief has already appeared that the lens of the Tourist’s camera is capable of making wishes come true. As usual in such cases, it is supposed to be rubbed.
Mojito
If you don’t have enough space on the island with crabs, you can stop at Mojito Beach , which is located almost opposite. You will see for yourself straw umbrellas, cafe terraces, sun loungers and a variety of water transport for rent from catamarans to kayaks.
“Mojito” is a completely concreted artificial beach with bulk sand. This was the only way to solve the issue of coastal erosion. You have to dive into the water from built-in ladders.
I am glad that it is spacious and has a beautiful view of the fortress and mountains. There are not many people here, since it is a bit far to get there, and not everyone likes to sunbathe on the slabs.
The downside is that the sea is not clean, you can often see gasoline stains (boat rentals are nearby). You must always be on your guard with children, there is no gentle slope, and the bottom is full of large and sharp stones.
Until 2022, Mojito Beach was paid. Now, as everywhere else, you only pay for the use of sun loungers and umbrellas. Rental price – 250 for the whole day.
Depth and bottom
The beach is quite deep - 8-10 meters from the shore, chest-deep for an adult.
The bottom is clean, comfortable - somewhere sandy, somewhere the sand at the bottom is coarse and more like small pebbles. Entry into the water is smooth - although the depth increases relatively quickly. On the far left side of the beach, the entry into the water is more gentle than in other places - this part is well suited for families with small children (chest-deep depth here will be already 20 meters from the shore).
Getting to Soldaya is easy!
The 2-level beach of the elite boarding house "Soldaya" is distinguished by well-groomed territory and golden sandy surface. Entrance to its territory is free, but sun loungers and umbrellas are provided for a fee.
It is located in front of the Arzy . It has its own infrastructure, convenient paths lead to cafes, sheds and the sea.
The downside is that service in coastal cafes is expensive.
Room prices can be viewed on Booking.
What to see in Sudak
- Genoese fortress. Be sure to visit, a very interesting place. Look at the restored medieval fortress, take a photo of a child with knights, and from the height of the mountain you can see the entire Sudak. Our photo report
- New World and the Golitsyn Trail. A neighboring resort town, where you will go through an interesting mountain route with unparalleled views. Excursions are offered here at every step. But you can easily get there on your own by bus No. 5 for 16 rubles or by taxi for 300.
- Dolphinarium. The children will find it interesting. You can swim with dolphins.
- Aquapark
- Amusement park and Ferris wheel
- Crocodile farm
- Exhibition “Russia in Miniature”
- Wine
- Wild Meganom beach at the foot of the cape of the same name.
Arzy
But the next beach is quite suitable for family holidays and swimming with children . Tourists and locals give it positive reviews much more often than the crowded city (central) one.
It got its name from the cafe of the same name, with an open area, located here.
“Arzy” is divided into two parts; you can choose a place away from the cafe. The condition of the beach is carefully monitored by the staff, the area is clean, there are enough sun loungers and umbrellas. You can purchase a boat trip or excursion at a nearby office.
The beach is covered with quartz sand , the entrance to the sea is convenient. The embankment with a lot of cafes and entertainment is located very close.
Entrance is free, but with paid amenities - sun loungers, umbrellas.
The cafe itself is a little expensive, and the cuisine is not distinguished by the variety and quality of dishes.
Names of the best beaches on the map of Sudak and their descriptions
The generous nature of the Crimean peninsula is so diverse that on a small section of the coast sand spits are interspersed with large stones, the forest gives way to a flat plateau with silver feather grass. Likewise, the coastal strips differ from each other. A sandy beach area is not uncommon, as is a pebble one. They are distributed approximately equally, but mixed coastal cover is most common. You can choose a place for swimming based on reviews on the Internet, recommendations from friends, but it is best to visit there in person.
"Mojito"
The beach is one of the most fashionable, entrance is paid, and the relaxation conditions are excellent. It is not natural, but was created artificially. Golden sand was brought to the rocky shore and a pier was built so that the waves would not erode the coating.
Convenient stairs have been arranged to descend into the water, but it is not recommended for small children to swim there, since the depth begins almost at the first step.
You can recognize this section of the coast among other beaches of Sudak in Crimea in the video by the original straw umbrellas, reminiscent of the surroundings of the resorts of Haiti. Entertainment includes:
- rental of catamarans and jet skis;
- boat trips on boats and yachts;
- riding on bananas and buns;
- rental of sports equipment.
There is a diving center; many come to Mojito just to admire the diversity of the underwater world. In the evening, other entertainment begins, a disco opens, a laser show is shown, cafes and bars open.
Beach behind Cape Alchak
In the recent past, it was a wilderness area that was developed for recreation and swimming. For fans of beach volleyball, a playground with a net was equipped, and a sports equipment rental office was opened. A little further along the coast everything remains the same, nature and silence reign there.
There is a beach area outside the Sudak Bay, near Kapselskaya, and an ecological trail passes nearby. The shore is strewn with pebbles and sand in approximately equal parts, large boulders are visible from afar, which are convenient for sunbathing. To move comfortably along the shore, you need shoes, since there are often large fragments of stones and you can get injured when walking barefoot.
The beach strip is unevenly developed, on the pebble area there are almost no signs of comfort, on the sand spit there is a medical center, a cafe and equipment rental, there is a children's sandbox. Flooring is laid along the shore for ease of movement, the water is clean and transparent, suitable for youth and family recreation.
Megan
The cape and coastal area are a place of power where ministers of the occult sciences, followers of the teachings of the unity of man and nature, connoisseurs of silence and seekers of lost civilizations gather. Among tourists there are legends about a ghost ship and the “Meganom boy”. Frequent guests are divers diving in search of treasures of ancient times. Enthusiasts studying rare species of algae and fish will be rewarded for their patience, since the zone is classified as a protected area and in deep and shallow water there are plants listed in the Red Book.
The sandy piece of land is guarded by 2 huge boulders, and wind generators are visible in the distance. They were installed as alternative energy sources, then the idea did not justify itself, but they were not dismantled, leaving them in the form of decorative elements. They are the only reminders that there is civilization nearby.
Arzy Beach
It makes it possible to combine relaxation and swimming with a visit to a popular attraction - the Genoese fortress. Its jagged silhouette is perfectly visible from the coastal strip and dominates the area, looking out for enemies sneaking up from the sea. There are no more pirates and sea robbers, but the fortress remains and continues to keep its watch, protecting the peace of civilians.
There are few vacationers on the shore, since the place is remote from the city center and not everyone is ready to go to the coast, when you can go down to it right in the center, a little away from the embankment. For those who are not afraid of distances, comfort, silence, cleanliness, massage parlor services and catamaran rentals await you here. There is a restaurant of the same name on the shore, which serves Tatar, European and Japanese cuisine.
Crab Island
The scattering of stones with an 8-meter giant in the center received its name because of the numerous crabs crawling onto the land on a clear day. The island is also called “Bird Island” because of the seagulls and cormorants that have chosen a piece of land for relaxation. Nearby you can see the ancient fortress and Mojito beach.
According to legend, a scattering of stones is all that remains of a giant crab that fell from a cliff during a battle with a mighty woodcutter who was protecting the inhabitants of his village.
The giant's shell split into many fragments, some of which sank, while the largest remained on the surface and formed an island. There are shallows around it where beginner divers enjoy diving. While sunbathing in the shade of an umbrella, you can admire the views of the fortress and the embankment. There are also restrictions: you cannot catch and take crabs with you, they are protected by law.
Central beach of Sudak
The most popular, crowded and noisy section of the coast is located in the center of the resort area, which is where its name comes from. The swimming season begins from the last days of May, and in the morning it is already difficult to find a free place by the water. All youth companies meet at Central. Families with children also prefer not to move away from their rented accommodation, relaxing in close proximity to the embankment.
The territory is impressive, length is 250 m, width - 40. Cleanliness control services keep it under constant inspection, so the shore greets every dawn clean and well-groomed. The sandy surface and gentle slope into the water are perfect for little ones to build castles from golden-pink sand with sparkling sparkles of quartz. To bury yourself and bask in it means you will receive powerful prevention of cardiovascular diseases and protection for the respiratory system.
Kolkhozny
The beach also enjoys steady attention from tourists for its territorial accessibility, cleanliness, pleasant sandy-shell shore and gentle slopes without sudden changes in depth. The best places at the edge of the surf are only available early in the morning. Those who like to sleep will have to spread their towel much further.
Entrance to the territory is free, there are changing rooms, toilets, and sources of drinking water. Since there are a lot of children among vacationers, playgrounds and towns, attractions, slides and equipment rental are equipped. There are cafes and canteens, and a mini-market with basic necessities and toys has opened nearby. Opposite is the Water World water park.
It doesn’t matter what Crimean beaches in Sudak are, pebbles or sand. The main thing is that they are all ready to receive guests, giving them the opportunity to relax, basking in the generous sun and enjoying the view of the boundless sea.
Royal coast of the New World
Historical information that Nicholas II once rested and swam on this site firmly secured this name for it. Although there is nothing particularly royal, except for the luxurious view of the high rocks, creating an amazing contrast with the sandy strip and the bright blue sea. There are almost no algae near the shore, even small pebbles are mixed with quartz sand, you can enter the water without fear, the bottom gradually drops without presenting unpleasant surprises. To get to the coast, you need to get to the village of Novy Svet and go down to the Blue Bay.
People come here for beautiful views and silence, since nothing else is allowed to be built or equipped.
The protected area was completely closed to visitors a few years ago. It is now allowed to swim without lighting a fire and removing trash after yourself when leaving. Staying by the water is perfectly combined with sightseeing, which include:
- trail and Golitsyn house-museum;
- Mount Sokol;
- Cape Kapchik.
Beach "Alchak"
An amazing road carved into the rock leads to the easternmost vacation spot in Sudak Bay. For 100 m, tourists are greeted only by sand mixed with large pebbles. Alchak is considered a protected area, so no interference with the natural balance is allowed. Entrance is paid, these funds are used to maintain cleanliness and order.
In 2001, an ecological trail was laid out and equipped to avoid the temptation to litter; trash cans were installed along its length. Vacationers are attracted by unique natural monuments, for example, the Aeolian Harp. A rock with a large through hole sings in different voices on windy days. In the clean, clear water, marine life is visible, which scuba divers take advantage of. There are few visitors, you can easily find a deserted place and enjoy solitude.
Wild beach under Fortress Mountain
At first glance, it is just a strip of stone and pebbles at the foot of the mountain on which the Genoese fortress is located. There are no signs of infrastructure, only the sea, rocks and picturesque views.
It is difficult to walk along the shore, but it is very convenient to sunbathe on the large rocks. When planning a long vacation, you should take care of a supply of water and food in advance, since there are no retail outlets nearby. Almost immediately from the shore, great depths begin, where it is convenient to dive with a mask or scuba dive. There are few people even at the height of the season; they come mainly for silence and solitude.
Judging by the reviews, descriptions and photos, the wild beaches of Sudak in Crimea really bring you closer to nature, allowing you to enjoy the untouched beauty and the complete absence of human intervention in the natural landscape of the peninsula.
Central Beach
It occupies the largest space along the embankment and is located between the pier and the Brigantine boarding house with its own beach.
The fully equipped central beach has a sandy surface about 30 meters wide, with pebbles starting only near the water. The entrance to the sea is comfortable, the depth increases gradually.
The area for walking, entertainment, and eating is a concrete embankment, located higher behind the fence, which is very convenient. The famous Cypress Alley of Sudak leads to the beach. A public transport stop is a 10-minute walk away.
The beach is free, but you will have to pay an hourly fee for using sun loungers and umbrellas. You can also rent catamarans or go on extreme water attractions.
Changing cabins, rescue towers, sanitary areas, free tents - everything is available.
This is the most popular place in the summer, so finding a place is not easy.
Add to the disadvantages that during a storm the water becomes cloudy due to sand. The proximity of the pier and the constant raids of various watercraft are also not to everyone’s liking. Noisy, crowded, fun (and maybe that’s a plus).
But the location couldn’t be better: a lot of entertainment, everything is at hand - housing, catering, transport links.
For those who love party places, variety, or want to rent housing within walking distance to the sea and entertainment, this is the place.
Those who cannot stand the motley crowd, competition for the best place in the sun, are advised to choose a more remote corner.
Reviews from vacationers about Sudak beaches
Olesya : My husband and I were vacationing as “savages”, renting an apartment in Sudak. We went to Alchak to sunbathe and swim. You only have to pay for entering the reserve, and it’s only 200 rubles, but it’s quiet and there aren’t many people. The water is clean!
Arthur : It’s too late to come to the Central Beach at 9 am, everything is already sorted there by 8. How many times have I flown, only the farthest seats have been given.
Kristina : If you live in Sudak itself, then it’s a bit far to go to Alchak or Mojito. Although, if you don’t want to sunbathe in a crowd, then you can be patient. We only rode a couple of times. And everything is very well arranged on Kolkhozny Beach, as well as on Central Beach.
Rest at the Brigantine
The small beach of the Brigantine boarding house attracts visitors with its convenient location (all the delights of the embankment are nearby) and complete infrastructure. It is not too big, but with a fairly wide strip of sand.
Vacationers note that in the mornings there are fitness classes for everyone, followed by an invigorating dive into the sea.
Next come the beach areas of Mariel and the Air Force sanatorium. They do not differ in the level of comfort, but there are always enough people there.
The coastal strip for recreation is narrower here, and old structures for sheds take up a lot of space. But unlike other sanatoriums, VVS beaches are accessible to everyone .
Also, among several beaches owned by the Air Force, there is the quietest and calmest one - “Healing” , as well as the most equipped of them with a lot of entertainment - “Zhara” .
Where to drink delicious coffee
There is a coffee shop "Eclair" on the embankment. They make delicious coffee, which is very rare in Crimea. They also have delicious Napoleon cakes. This is the most normal coffee, almost in the whole of Crimea. There is also a trusted Merry Berry coffee shop on the embankment.
Coffee lovers, the best coffee in Sudak awaits you in Eclair and Mary Bary
Kolkhozka – where does this name come from?
Kolkhozny Beach got its name a long time ago, in those days when trade in livestock flourished. On this coast, traders rested with all their crowing, bleating, mooing goods.
This beach is located in the area of the Water World water park (there is a separate article about it), has a sand and shell coating, a very convenient entrance to the sea and a spacious area.
And yet there are disadvantages - poor infrastructure , visitors rest mainly on towels laid out, and bring their own umbrellas.
It is very crowded, and half of the shore is occupied by catamaran parking lots and water attractions.
A little luxury on Mojito Beach
- 44.839044, 34.961047.
Modern Crimea is also presented in Sudak, for those who are demanding. We can recommend Mojito Beach. It has all the advantages of Arza, only to a greater extent. The shore here is artificially filled with crushed stone and concreted, and convenient stairs are built to enter the water. Here it is not difficult to rent all the necessary equipment, go windsurfing and diving (the clean water near the Genoese fortress contributes to this). Mojito has its own calling card - straw sun umbrellas.
However, the beach became like this quite recently - it was refurbished in 2013. There is also a minus - entrance is paid, although the prices are modest. It becomes an elite zone in the evenings, since the cafes located here play the role of night clubs in the evening, and not everyone can go there. In addition to practicing extreme water sports, visitors to Mojito do not miss the opportunity to ride on the sea and admire the city and its bay.
How do the “sanatorium” residents relax?
They say that it is impossible to enter the territory of the sanatorium beaches without a pass, but depending on which guard you see, you can always reach an agreement. Another question - what’s interesting there?
The beaches of TOK "Sudak" and TOK "Horizon" are very similar. Massive canopies from ancient times, breakwaters, lattice fencing of the area and a good strip of sand. Quite spacious and clean, especially when there are few vacationers in the resorts themselves.
But nothing else of note. To buy water, ice cream or something more serious to eat, you will have to go to the embankment.
Well, if you are relaxing in these sanatorium establishments, then at your service are several cafes, shops, and entertainment centers such as a billiard room, a cinema and concert hall, and souvenirs.
Territory of wild beaches: Cape Alchak
The beach of Cape Alchak completes the series of landscaped recreation areas within the city. But since this is where the protected area begins, a fee was previously collected from all vacationers, despite the fact that there is no infrastructure here.
So, the length of the beach area is about 100 m. The surface is mixed - coarse sand and pebbles. Behind you will be the cape itself, with mountain paths, rocky outcrops and sparse vegetation.
You should have drinking water, an umbrella (you won’t be able to hide in the shade), and comfortable shoes - in case you feel the urge to climb the hills.
You can get here from the water park in about 15 minutes, by bus No. 1, No. 2 to the final stop, or by your own car, going around the cape along already beaten roads.
Reserved Alchak
- 44.834940, 34.988069.
Most of Sudak’s beaches are well-maintained: even a concrete wall specially separates them from the Embankment itself, so people swim and sunbathe in one area, and eat ice cream and rollerblade in another. In most cases, you don’t have to pay for entry, but the beach area near Cape Alchak (this is the very tip of the bay) is an exception.
The cape has the status of a protected area, and as a result, to limit the influx of visitors, visitors are admitted here for a fee. At the same time, Alchak is almost a wild beach. There is no equipment rental, water activities or other amenities of civilization. The maximum you can find is a bench in the shade. But there are always people who come - they are attracted by the surrounding landscapes.
Kapsel Bay and its beaches
From Cape Alchak to Cape Meganom there are semi-wild beaches, inexpensive and unassuming campsites.
The places here are beautiful, the coast is clean, but not everywhere is convenient. The surface is mostly large pebbles, the bottom is rocky but shallow, which is why the water warms up well by the beginning of June.
The “South Coast”, “Laguna”, and “Miami” beaches are more comfortable. There are sun loungers and umbrellas for rent, as well as some attractions, benches and cafes.
The beach "Medvezhonok" is not clean, and abandoned buildings look depressing against the backdrop of mountain landscapes and steppe grasses. Tourists say that the place is always full of dogs, and there is a persistent smell of sewage.
There is also a camping site “Kapsel” with a protected area. But all the amenities - shower, toilet, you know, camping options.
This does not stop romantics and nature lovers, although the cost of living here ranges from 400 to 1200 rubles, depending on the type of housing chosen - a tent, a rented tent, a wooden house.
It is preferable to get here by car, but you can also use public transport, going to the village of Solnechnaya Dolina to the Kapsel stop.
Well, or go through Alchak, if you are not afraid of getting tired. Coordinates for the car: 44.833459, 35.017052 .
The amazing world of Meganom
If you want something unusual, go to Cape Meganom! Here you will find a beach to your liking, take a walk along the winding paths, and discover what is on the mountain and what is behind the cape.
You can retire among huge boulders on small sandy islands and even take part in some popular youth festival.
The most popular beach is called “Megan” , it is located 9 km from Sudak, in a bay surrounded by high hills and rocks.
All the infrastructure is present here - canopies, sun loungers, watercraft rental, delivery by ATV to the cape itself, shops, cafes. There is a semi-wild campsite nearby.
The beach has a mixed surface, but it is better to wear flip-flops - sharp shells and slippery stones near the shore can cause discomfort.

In some places, the entrance to the sea is difficult - rocky, dangerous areas with sharp boulders, a dense web of algae. On remote beaches there is a problem with drinking water - there is simply none there!
