Dyatkovo can truly be called one of the riches of the Bryansk land. This city is the northernmost in the region, and it stands on the Oleshnya River. It is located less than fifty kilometers from Bryansk.

The name Dyatkovo is very interesting, unusual, even a little rustic for the city. And this is not without reason. After all, initially, until 1938, the city of Dyatkovo was a village. The name most likely comes from the word "uncle". There is no other information on this issue.

History of the city of Dyatkovo in the Bryansk region

The history of Dyatkovo is rich and interesting. Mention of the village of Dyatkovo has been found in written sources since 1626. It’s amazing how a small village made it to an honorary city. At the end of the eighteenth century, the famous glass and crystal factory was built here, and Dyatkovo turned into the largest industrial village in the Bryansk region (then a county).

During the Great Patriotic War, unfortunately, the city was captured by the Germans. He suffered enormous damage. About twenty thousand people from the area were captured and sent to the Nazi homeland. In this regard, the city turned into a center of partisan resistance. It was not easy for the residents of the area; not a trace remained of their former life, few managed to stay alive, and little was saved. Everything was destroyed by the invaders. At the end of 1945, the restoration of the famous crystal factory began. In 1983, the city was awarded the Order of the Patriotic War, first degree, and in 2011 received the honorary title of city of partisan headquarters.

Historical sketch

The village of Dyatkovo has been known since 1626, named after its location on the river. Dyatkovka. Since 1810 it has been a village, later a settlement. Oikonym from the nickname Uncle, Dyadko.

In 1790 I.A. Maltsov founded a crystal factory that produced mainly artistic crystal. [Pospelov, 1998: It was this village that laid the foundation for the city and not the village, i.e. founded in 1790]. At the first public manufacturing exhibition of Russian manufactured products in St. Petersburg in 1829, Dyatkovo crystal was awarded a gold medal.

At the end of the 19th century. The office of the commercial and industrial partnership was located in Dyatkovo. Crystal was exported in the amount of about 180 thousand rubles per year.

During the Great Patriotic War of 1941-45, the plant was completely destroyed; later restored and reconstructed. The city was occupied by Nazi troops on October 9, 1941. It was liberated on September 15, 1943 by troops of the Bryansk Front during the Bryansk operation.

Lenin Street

The main and most beautiful street of the city proudly bears the name of the great leader. Almost all the attractions of Dyatkovo are located along this street. Citizens love to walk along it, and local authorities continue to equip and decorate it. It is very green and wide.

According to the original design, it was supposed to be two-lane, but since there is not much transport in the city, one lane is pedestrian, and the second is intended for cars. They are separated by beautiful lanterns with a lawn and flowers.

The church was built in 2003. The temple has a small room. It is important to note that the idea of ​​construction did not arise from scratch, but based on ancient references to the fact that there was a similar church in the then village of Dyatkovo, in the 19th century, but its iconostasis was not preserved.

Square of Courage

In the city, active attention is paid to the military past and the development of the city with places for recreation. Thus, another square is the embodiment of calm and courage, as it reminds of the courage of war heroes, participants in military operations in Chechnya and Afghanistan, and liquidators at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant. Memorial "Partisan Glade"

The whole memorial complex in the Bryansk forests continues the partisan theme. This is the place where partisans and underground fighters from Russia and the CIS officially met. The memorial has been open since 1969. Today there is an obelisk, three dugouts, a partisan spring and benches with tables.
